Still no Scunny match thread. Anyone would think they weren't looking forward to their trip to Glandford Park. Theres gratitude for us being kind enough to send them there

I went on there the day before yesterday. Seems to have a fair few very decent posters but the thread on us is incredible. The conspiracy theories about Wael being skint are just beyond bizarre I can only conclude they are truly scared for all of that to be written. I think it was some 310-20 pages. I read the last 3 and left it. Seems it has a few of our lot posting on there.

It’s a knockout cup competition, in which the idea is to progress!

It’s a knockout cup competition, in which the idea is to progress! You've got it all wrong mate. This competition is all about sending your local rivals on a hellish trip to some filthy northern cess pit whilst you live it up with a night on the gas at Chelsea and then spend the rest of the season concentrating on the league and trying to forget how much money you blew in a hazy night in west london. Get with the program.

If, and I admit, it is a big IF, the scores happen to be Level at full time, is it extra time then penalty shoot out?

Why does everything have to be about comparison to them? Of course we’ll sell more tickets, for a glamour tie, that’s half the distance of Scunthorpe! Who do you think would of sold more if they were playing Chelsea & we were up at Scunny tonight? Just cos they’ve only sold 72 tickets, doesn’t really mean they’re a small club. You could argue that the smaller clubs take more fans to the meaningless EL Cup as it’s their cup final & only chance at a decent day out. Bigger clubs fans don’t go as they have big games every week! Why the constant fixation with City? Yes we’ve had a good few years, but they are still better than us, bigger than us, have a bigger ground than us, in a higher division than us (as always!), have better players than us, and are/have been for years an all-round bigger club. As much as we don’t like that, it’s true, so why bother wasting time on them?

I just sometimes think that people would rather see City lose, than Rovers win! I'm all for the rivalry, but not a complete fixation!

It's not called The Bristol Rovers Independent Fans' Forum for nothing, wouldn't you agree? I think that it's possible that you may well be in the wrong forum.

A lot of football fans are the same, obsessed with their rivals to a point that seems to become a bigger passion and excitement than supporting their own team
