"Not trying to criticize her personally" - Me I didn't post to slag her off. I'm sure she's an outstandingly lovely careerist automaton (dohohohoho). Just offering an decent explanation as to why the MPs have decided to get involved at this point. She really didn't need to, the power in the situation resided in us, the fans, getting organized and campaigning against TRASH. Do we believe that her raising us in PMQs actually had an effect on the verdict? Shouldn't do. That's not how the courts work. Obviously people have taken this open letter to mean there must be fire underneath all the smoke but it's just free publicity for the good, hard-workin' folks in Westminster. Miss Leslie MP,got involved because she needs the stadium to be built, so she can get the rail links she is trying to get,the stadium is a means to this happening and i am grateful she did, none of them care about us, but they care about the stadium and the knock on projects, for which funds will be released when it is built

Now I'm not absolving the board of it’s many, MANY faults but really, one of the first things that came out after relegation was “yes the stadium is still happening, it’s vital for the future.” It’s a pretty clear clarification guys. The MPs/Dave getting involved is politicians being politicians, they want to big up the supposed economic recovery and Charlotte whatserface wants to bagsee her share so we all continue to vote her in. Really think about the campaign against TRASH, she didn’t start it, the energy and petition was already there, she just hosted it on her website and collected all our email addresses for her mailing list. Not trying to criticize her personally but that’s what they do, do you think she gives a crap about Rovers, really? Standing there in her brand new, too big shirt, smiling for the cameras… Again, NH has so, so many faults but imagine if he spent all his time responding to paranoid s*** on here. “The chairman wishes to release a statement clarifying that although he was indeed driving around Bath the other day, his glum expression and roof-down driving should not be taken as indication of the cancellation of the UWE stadium. Also his McFlurry was a chrunchie one.” INB4: “Rose-tinter/Sheed.” This letter rightly or wrongly worried the fanbase. A simple communication from the chair saying he has seen the letter and understands that it may raise some concerns, but there is nothing to worry about and we are finalising the five documents. Not hard to do, no commercially sensitive bollox and actually showing some actual leadership.

Mindful that I’ve derailed the thread here, I’ma start over:
- The board confirmed the stadium was still happening after relegation. I think that was the last word on it?
- People are panicking about the MPs letter because of a lack of recent confirmation from the club. My point was this is probably CL wanting credit for her campaigning and the PM being seen to push forward developments that show-off the (apparent) recovery.
- If NH responded to every zany comment on here, he wouldn’t actually get anything done. It would be hilarious but impractical.
If I’m wrong I’m happy for anyone to fashion Higgs’ plums in to a stylish pair of rear-view mirror decorations.

The board failed to notify that we'd gone past the last start date to enable a completed build for the last announced opening date... If the BOD thought for one minute that the letter would hamper them then they could have easily got in touch with the press...and I'd be amazed if they weren't consulted before the letter was published... NH shouldn't reply on here daily. He shouldn't employ someone who comes on here daily. But it would be nice if every time 'our club' (and I include him in that) has an update that it was shared with the other 99.9% of us...

As i say rightly or wrongly the letter spooked the fanbase. Someone at the club, if they had their finger on the pulse would instantly react and calm it rather than let rumours fester like the BoD moan happens. They can nip it in the bud pretty quickly. When Nicks BFF is playing political games, someone who has been heavily involved in helping, people are bound to be on edge I keep going back to leadership and being pro active, something the club show very little of at any time

Well sure, it's obvious no one has their finger on the pulse. I just don't understand why everyone's assuming it's definitely off rather than assuming the board just hasn't realized it's caused a panic. I mean they could theoretically be too busy buying players and signing off legal s*** to spend all day checking a poxy unofficial forum.
...Nah.

Too right that we're all guessing...they may own the company, but they never seem like they're running the 'club'....

Maybe you knpw we could hear from Ed Ware, Rod King, Chris Jelf or Mr communication must improve Boycey, or the PR guru and fans director BSS or Ken, important enough to go to Conference AGM Masters There are enough directors of 1883ltdto go round. Maybe one of them could step up. If all was okay and the Baywatch babe asked Nick, why the need for open letters if things would be sorted in a couple of weeks

Many Rovers supporters have serious doubts about most things Box 1 because of past failiures, lies and deceit enderman. True, this doesn't mean the UWE will not be built, but for many it's a question of believing when sat in it or eg driving by it if you are still a victim of spiteful ban.

You'll be telling us next that a league 1 club like Leyton Orient, playing at an inner city 9000 capacity stadium which they don't own in front of less than 5000 crowds, has been sold to an Italian businessman.

Haha! Dunfords claim it's us or nothing really reverts back to his line of 'the club will go down before the board'!

I don't believe any posters on here want the stadium to fail. Nobody here celebrated the fall out of the football league either. It seems like you think that anyone who doubts the boards word wants the club to fail. You couldn't be further from the truth. I'm convinced that the doubters would just love to be proved wrong. I should know as I'm one of them.

We all want it to steam ahead, managed properly to produce income to get this club going again. We all want Rovers back in the League and moving on up (could be a song title that) If you think anyone would gloat about Rovers failing I think you must live a very sheltered life my friend!

I hope we fail in getting UWE, hope we drift downwards into the Western/Beazer Homes/Halal Donkey league, hope we end up in administration, get embroiled in match fixing scandals and hope every single supporter gets an incurable disease. Who could possibly want anything else?

To give a little context, the Council by statute Councils are allowed 12 weeks to make a descion on any planning submission from the point of submission. Small developments are often approved under delegated powers in a shorter time, something of this size will undoubtedly w need full Council approval an I would expect it to take the full 12 weeks. I also would'nt get to hung up on the 2013 dates, also it is unlikely that the planning portal was the tardy element here if indeed there was a delay, As a building professional my view is, this development is a bit off the ground being broke yet.
