Not sure if somebody has already mentioned this, but it seems things are still moving forward for the time being. On Friday more planning documents appeared on the South Glos website for the stadium. Link below but bear with it, the site takes an age to load. I don't know what the documents really mean to be honest, but at least some paperwork is actually appearing...

When permission is given, a number of conditions are imposed that the developer must meet in order for the permission to remain valid. Some of these conditions have to be adhered to prior to commencing the development such as for example, details of the construction access to the site and a construction management plan indicating how the construction will be carried out in a safe manner and within certain working hours.

These documents must be submitted to the Council and they must approve them before you can commence the development. These documents submitted on Friday were to discharge a number of pre-commencement conditions.

It's been known for Councils to take months to discharge conditions so fingers crossed they will prioritise this and the club can crack on with the building work (subject to Sainsburys going through with it of course)

Well one is very pleased to see they intend to 'divert the foul sewage'.
One can never be too sure with these soccer types.

Just spoke with some planning guy at S.Gloucs. Hes not directly involved with the stadium site but said the final clearance (assuming all docs now to hand) would take about 4 to 6 weeks. Then building could proceed.

Great. So all Nick had to do was to reafirm this was happening when fams started gettimg worried with regards to the MPs letter. Nothing confidential there

In my opinion, it would have helped if this measure of progress was pointed out in a brief statement by the club, rather than having to pick up the information from the ever reliable

KITR on OTIB.

The bigger issue does lie with Sainsbury's and this is where I have sympathy that the club is bound by legal agreement and negotiations are being played out. Even if not bound by confidentiality, I don't see it as a good negotiating tactic to play your hand in public.

So is NH proceeding with the planning aspects in the hope Sainbury's will procced or are the signs he is getting from them suggest they will proceed? At least this latest development suggests Rovers want to proceed with the UWE even if Sainsbury's are stallling?

I won't believe it until the build starts and Sainsbury make a statement about all systems go etc.

Box 1 are of course capable of pretending all is well when they are not.

I can remember Geoff Dunford a few years ago posting on a Rovers forum how things were fine in the Board room,no one had fallen out.
Shortly afterwards the Board were minus 4 resigned directors.

We'll have to wait and see.

I don't know the figures, but in all likelihood, these activities are initially being funded by the club/holding company. The big cost does not come in until building contractors are mobilised and materials placed on order - that's when when we need the cash from Sainsbury's.
