Please educate me, can anyone buy shares in BRFC? If so do you know how? Lastly do you know if any are available and for how much? Genuine questions that have always puzzled me. Of course they can. You have to find somebody who has some to sell, and buy them from them. The price is usually at the point where the amount you are willing to pay meets the amount they are willing to accept. Glad to have helped. I think in a private company the board would have to approve that sale / transfer of shares.

About 10 years ago, I bought 5x10p BRFC shares for 200 quid ! The certificate is framed and hanging on the wall in my Man Cave. That may sound extreme and very pricey, but to me that certificate is priceless ! Was it a futile, stupid purchase? Yes, of course it was. Would I do it again? Yes, of course I would ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) Write to the club and ask how much it would cost to purchase say, five shares! Thanks for the info. I assume that your 5 shares gets you into the BRFC AGM.

When I brought my 5 shares they cost £100.

Mine might have been 100 quid as well. I can't remember to be honest.

You obviously have the good fortune to make frivolous purchases, feels good doesn't it lol. I used to be able to do such stuff but my situation changed somewhat and I now wish I had just half of the money, that I wasted, in a savings account. Please tell me, why did you pay £200 if they price was 10p ? £40 a share is just totally barmy but it's your money. Hey, if we do get this buy out then maybe you may be lucky to get a decent return on them

Now that Mr Higgs has admitted that he has been approached by a consortium wishing to purchase Bristol Rovers he could tell us why he has rejected them This is news to me but I had a heavy weekend on the cider so haven't been on here for a couple of days. When did he do this and is there anything printed to confirm this please ? I now am certain that this group do exist & that contact was made. What I don't understand is NH saying no, he really should know better given his form, on past mistakes. The guy really doesn't seem to have learned anything. He opens himself up for abuse, in not being honest about such business. I would even have thought that the standard reply of " the offer was not in the best interests of the club" would have been better than a denial. He really does make it very easy to dislike him.

So Jon the Stripe was talking rubbish and the totally unfounded rumours were.....totally founded.
And some people wonder why football people are held in such contempt.
Jon - thanks for being brave enough to front up and break the existence of this group.
It left you exposed, despite the caveats that accompanied the breaking of the news.
I applaud you.

Clearly he was given the information to leak, so there was always something going on, but if it's a serious attempt to take control of the club from Higgs, how leaking the fact can help negotiations is beyond me?
