So Cheltenham have a "top ten" budget for the conference according to their chairman but still beat us. This puts us in good stead for a top seven finish this year? Discuss. It was a friendly and one s**te performance. If we beat West Brom on Friday it doesn't mean we'll walk the league either.

Arsenal first 11 was that? I don't think it was, was it? Why get so defensive? Considering the club we should be and budget we should have based on gates etc why do you still defend the fact we haven't spent any real money? laugh at me all you like but this team won't cut it in League Two. For the first time in many years our club are working to a sensible budget and DC works within that budget. long may it continue Well said.

Arsenal have a budget of one billion trillion and only beat us 1-0. We shall qualify for the Europa League through the League Cup and have bunting everywhere. Lovely scenes will occur and everyone will stop mentioning a poxy friendly against Cheltenham in which the most important outcome was no more injuries. Best wishes. Xx Arsenal first 11 was that? I seem to remember you saying something like this a year ago

Other than Linsey, which is a tremendous signing IMO,DC has not for whatever reasons, probably financial, been able to bring in the wingers he says he needs, no quality on the wings equals poor sevice to the front men. The additions he has made look poor to me from what I have seen in the friendlies. I expect Rovers to finish just below mid table; just hope we are not drawn into yet another battle with relegation. we have strengthen the squad Lines, Montano, Clarke these have been added and with a fit again Easter we are better prepared than 12 months ago I would imagine 12 months ago Cheltenham were looking forward to the season we are were not... now 12 months on roles have been reversed ..progress for one and utter dread for the other ..I am in camp one and looking forward to the season. The Arsenal U21 game taught me we are a million miles from matching such a high ranking Club. What about the other 3 additions we have made Mike?

Don't panic lads twp loans and a permanent winger being signed next week when DC returns from Cardiff. There is no need to panic as most say that.

I can't see West Brom fans going into meltdown if we beat them either and the talk of their forums being impending disaster. Why do people read so much into friendlies? Didn't buckle win all his friendly matches with us and look where that went.....

We've signed Montano who's getting good reviews on the wing, possilby Bodin for the other wing with Gosling as back up, we're only really one winger short and Dawson hasn't signed up for anybody yet/ a loanee can still be signed. plus Dom Thomas must surely be worth a place on the bench this season? The squad's big enough it's up to the players to prove they are good enough.

DC watches them in training everyday, and I'm sure he's hoping to give some of them a run out at some point.

It might be their first eleven, I haven't seen arsenal's team sheet for the first game of the season. Can't wait to win the League Cup now bbz. league cup? I'd love it if we won it but being a realist know we don't get past the first round. What does bbz mean? Hopefully nothing like you f******g cu *t But who knows? ? BBZ is a term of endearment, but your argument is a load of BLX (and I don't mean Belluno Airport)

Prefer them in the squad than unknown loanees.

People forget that L2 is almost as crap as the conference. Not many teams go straight back up when relegated and not many go straight back down when promoted. We start tthis season with basically the same squad that outperformed the rest of the conference for the final two thirds of last season. We might not finish in the top 3 but we can challenge for the play offs. Don't panic. 'Out performed the rest of the conference'...wow that sets the bar high doesn't it ?..trouble is that its not true Woking and Dover away being 2 examples. I read DC comments after Wembley and he said that he wanted to bring in 4 or 5 quality players for this season...they haven't been brought in,I wonder why?
The bar doesn't have to be high, we're in L2. And 2 poor away performances don't alter the fact that, in the final two thirds of the season, we outperformed the rest of the conference. I suspect that DC intended to bring in 4 or 5 quality additions but he hasn't managed it on the budget he has been given and / or within the wage and contract structure he has in place for the rest of the squad. We really need to get back to being the underdogs in L1 or higher because we don't do the "big club for this division" thing very well at all.
