Obviously I would like to keep him. He has unfinished business here and I would be very surprised if he joined a club that has a very good chance of playing non league football next season.
However, If he decides to move on then so be it. No one is bigger than this club.

I certainly hope he doesn't leave. I'm a fan of his and I think he has a lot to offer this football club, so I would like to see him turn down any offer he receives from a club that could be non-league next season anyway and stay with us.
DC is a smart bloke - he knows what's what. For all the undeserved stick he has received from some people who refuse to appreciate anything he does (which I still can't understand), he knows he's at a very well supported club that still has potential (should the UWE happen). He'd be mad to leave the team he is assembling here considering where he has us in the table and how he will be viewed if he can get us promoted at the first attempt.
I know he has links to the Pools but it seems like anyone who heads to Victoria Park is destined to fail. Their squad just doesn't look good enough.

I shouldn't doubt James McNamara on this, but the article seems to indicate only a remote possibility. DC doesn't feature in the betting and "the Post understands" could mean any source from the Chairman to the tea lady, to the football rumours website.
He may be right, but I'd agree with most that DC has unfinished business to attend to here and unless there are other factors, a move to the Monkey Hangers would not seem to be beneficial to him.

Too good for Hartlepool and very soon will be held in even higher regard here!

I saw him on Whiteladies Road yesterday afternoon and I can confirm he was on the phone and smiling.
Make of that what you will.

Betting odds are a funny thing. Dave Penney never appeared on any bookies list, until the day before he got the job, and suddenly appeared at some crazy odds on price.

Toni Wattola will clearly have to re-examine his budget, and make adjustments as necessary.

As I said on this forum recently, I understand DC turned down Hartlepool before Paul Murray was appointed. So maybe a change of heart. Can't be helped by the negative vibes he gets from some fans who must be hoping for a return from either Graydon,Atkins,McGee,Buckle, Penney etc.

In a total of over 5,000 each home game, 5 or 6 cannot rate very highly on the negative vibes chart.

Can anyone quote a ringing endorsement from any Director about DC's ability as a manager.

Straight answer to a straight question time then. The only ''endorsement'' that I can ever remember from anyone in a position of authority at BRFC regarding the present manager occurred during the close-season, when the Chairman said in response to a question as to whether the manager would be retained (or allowed to leave like so many other senior players had done in the not-too-distant past) was given by the Chairman. He said (flatly) that the manager had a contract for a further 12-months. Sorry that you had to repeat yourself.
