Brunt on paper is our most dangerous striker and our hugest asset. Sadly, his injuries have deprived us from that and he's shown us time and time again that he's far from being what he's supposed to be, and we aren't in a situation to gamble anymore. So, sadly, if he has to go, he has to go. I agree, he was hell of a player when he first arrived, but sadly now, nothing like that player but I'm sure he can get back there if over that bad injury, I hope that will be with us but he may have to move on to get game time.

If he could get fit and match fit then he could provide fresh options going into Jan

Problem with these type of situations you never know from the terraces whether the management feels he's not good enough, or simply think his wages are too high.
Brunt on his day could be a decent striker but it doesn't look like he's going to get another chance at Rovers.

Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk If you remove the question of Ryan's injuries from the equation for one moment, then if Rovers had retained their Football League status he would have remained a valuable asset to the club. But as we didn't, and we now play in the Conference, then the club would have looked to ship him out asap, like they did with a few others on high contracts. But if you now consider that we are playing in the Conference, Ryan is still (presumably) on a high contract, coupled with the fact that his fitness is suspect (to say the least), then I think that Rovers would like to get shot sooner rather than later. But one thing that history tells us, is that they will be as fair and supporting to the player whoever he is, as they can be. The club has many faults, but I cannot recall a player being treated unfairly, in fact quite the opposite. I remember reading once that after Alfie Biggs retired from playing, and remember that he retired from playing at Swansea not Rovers, he was taken back on the payroll as an odd-job man.

I haven't heard many stories of that happening recently at the club, in fact, it seems we only keep players on when injured because we have contractual obligations. As far as Brunt is concerned wasn't there an unfounded rumour a couple of weeks ago thathe'd asked for his contract to be paid up? I can't see Brunt going far unless Rovers agree to pay a big slice of his wages at any new club, should he find one given his recent injury record.

He is a class act, needs to be match fit and get a goal. If that happens confidence will be high and he could be an important asset at the end of the season, being a striker it all about confidence and he is still quite young.Playing in a confident side could make a difference.

I agree if he could get himself fit he indeed would be an invaluable asset to us, how he does that unless going out on loan to get regular games I don't really know.

[br Huh? History records that Campbell supposedly led a rebellion against Dave Penney that got him sacked after 13 games before becoming and overseeing our relegation as player manager himself, then tried to hold the club to ransom over his contract the following season, shame really, I prefer to remember him as a successful captain of this club.

Brunt not playing as Evil Post reporter believes he has asked to go out on loan. That request has been granted and he has been made available.
