Looking back over the time since the AQ's got involved, it seems to me to have been a fairly odd mix - though maybe no odder than previous years ('pick your seat at Cheltenham', anyone?). I don't want to list 'failures', as most of the forum is already devoted to them. And I've skipped the on the pitch stuff as it's sort-off separate from the job of ownership
Got any to add?
Achievements
Training ground South stand Er, 'repositioning' the SC and PC Posher bar, better (if still flawed) ticketing and marketing and merch Capitalised debts
White elephants
Bristol Rovers London Academy. In Surrey, not London Bristol Rovers London office UWE plans
Pipe dreams and nonsense
Fruit market stadium whole concept We'll be in the new stadium in 2 years We'll be in the Championship in 3 years Sainsbury's court action
Anomalies
Voldemort Treatment of Linesey

Not an achievement in and of itself, but the investment in the club has been substantially increased, establishing a basis for future improvement. Conteh, Taylor, Hutchinson, Forde and Omochere would have been well beyond the budgets of previous managers.
I think talk of the championship is for the birds, but would contend that we have the foundations to become an established top-half L1 side.
A culture of professionalism is a big white elephant for me. Appointing family members on the Arab model is a big no, no. Nepotism being one of the main reasons why the region has not fulfilled its considerable potential. People invariably ask not what you can do, but who you are related to.
The club is not being run in a professional or vaguely competent way, and my impression is very much that things (such as the appointment of Friend) are being done on the hoof.
The main thing that I will give Barton credit for is that we did repeatedly compete against the top sides in the division, including away from home. Our worst performances were actually against the relegation-threatened sides.
Linesey let himself down on various occasions in the relegation season, and was more likely to be seen necking a corona in some awful city centre nightclub than putting in the hard graft as a talented squad (including the likes of Hoskins, Kuffour, Jeff Hughes and Byron Anthony) nosedived head-first into L3. In terms of ability, that team had no business being anywhere near the bottom 4, and should have been sat comfortably in the top half of the table.

A tremendous surfer flag An excellent playing surface An excellent coach in Matt Taylor
Disappointing
to see end of the 126 year matchday programme replaces by an advert ridden monthly magazine
Perimeter advertising far too much light very disturbing on the eye.
Continued problems with standard of toilets
The exclusion of cash throughout the stadium certainly affecting 50/50 sales
Poor service in club vars and kiosks
Too much loud music in fan zone.
Lack of a scoreboard.

I think the current owners are not football people and it shows.
A bit like Quatar,a bland nation that struck it rich.
Would they be any better if WAQ left and they had his shares?
I doubt it.
Running a fc,as somekind of young footballers breeding farm won't work.
Yes have a youth system,a reserve team,good scouting/contacts but that's enough.
Invest in good players. Not only potentially young good players.
A fc does'nt have to become obsessed with developing young players, only to sell off.
Eg,in the scenario a 30 year old Blackburn Rovers CH ,with plenty of experience at 2nd tier level,is happy to sign for Rovers but we are hoping a youngster already with us can do the job, sign the Blackburn player . We know he can do the job.
The youngster can stay and fight for a place or go out on loan.
On the other hand, the 3 to 5 youngsters that very much look good enough to play for us play them.
Rovers usually produce a few decent young players, naturally as it were.
Let's play good players,whether they are 17,25 or 38.
We will still produce enough good youngsters.
Positive discrimination regarding youngsters is a mistake.
It lowers standards.
...........................................
It was a mistake sacking Joe Barton. Okay,he did'nt fit the Saeeds plans, but Joe is a football man. They are not. ...........................................
The lies about the Mem.Awful and soul destroying.
...........................................
We have a them and us situation with the board.
The board don't get it,but I think they know they are not doing very well and that is why they are hiding behind the sofa,in Box 1.
There is little espirit de corps. Again.

Apart from the old and frail, the only fans likely to prefer ”cash in hand” turnstiles are the self-employed. Tax evasion among small businesses costs the country £5-6 billion a year. The cost of money printing is enormous too, so if you’re not paying towards that then to me you forfeit any right to demand cash payment.

Coins and notes are johnnies-cum-latterly. They came after stones on rocks and bartering.
