I hope I'm wrong but I don't have any trust in the current owners.
Cash payments on the day as its legal tender, I don't understand anyone' ir company that wants a cashless society.

He could maybe be the new presenter of MOTD? I've already suggested Joe for MOTD. The viewing figures would go up for starters. Alex Scott all day long. Barton and his cult of misogynists would implode. One decision the Al Saaed’s have got right was in sacking Poundland Pep. A manager whose actual ability falls light years short of his deluded opinion of it

One decision the Al Saaed’s have got right was in sacking Poundland Pep. A manager whose actual ability falls light years short of his deluded opinion of it Worth remembering how Lineker got the job in the first place. It was on the back of his appearances on 'they think it's all over', hosted by Nick Hancock. He hardly shone in this role, and it just goes to show how far luck and being in the right place at the right time can get you.
Barton actually called out Lineker when he refused to sign an autograph for a young fan, which is one of the few things I will give him credit for.
Also worth remembering that Des Lynam was an infinitely superior presenter who actually understood why it is important to uphold BBC rules on impartiality.

The impartiality rules that other BBC presenters get away with not following and which are the brainchild of an extremely RW biased board - got it. Meanwhile Lineker must have acted in accordance with his contract with BBC else they would surely have sacked him. Impartiality at the BBC is like a Brexs**t unicorn

I think the BBC have recently been pulled up on breaking hundreds of their own rules.
A Guardian reading bunch of naive sillybillies.
Joe Barton would'nt get the MOTD job in a thousand years, but he would make it interesting, spice things up and improve viewing figures.

The positives are that we’ve got fairly steady income of about £6 million pa and two pieces of land with potential.
The negatives are that we’ve got expenditure of about £11 million and a very poor product.
For the last eight years we’ve been tinkering around trying to improve the product by wasting money on things like the South Stand and the Garner & Barton football experiments.
But we’ve failed to understand that until we address the bigger picture our product will always be inferior.

Not sure the Mem has any potential, it's not like we can sell it and bank the proceeds and developing is going to be very costly.
The whole South Stand situation is baffling, if Wael was thinking about selling up, I assumed he just wanted to bring in extra investors when the ALS arrived, then why spend money on such a white elephant, just so he could say he built a stand before he departed?
The present owners now seem stuck having to redevelop the stadium around it whilst paying for it (or not if the latest rumours are true!) rather than totally rebuilding at least 3 sides of the stadium.

You’re right that even the BBC aren’t stupid enough to employ him but that’s more to do with the fact that they know viewing figures would plummet and they won’t want the inevitable barrage of court cases that would come with him . I imagine that most women would turn off his self important gobs**tery, as would the non bigot/incel element of the male gender. Many of the other 73 known genders would too. Now if Gammon news ever decide to air a football highlights programme he’d be a perfect fit. Alongside all the other crackpots and sinister twats they employ

The present owners now seem stuck having to redevelop the stadium around it whilst paying for it (or not if the latest rumours are true!) rather than totally rebuilding at least 3 sides of the stadium. The Mem has the potential to be redeveloped into a decent football stadium but if it was then the South Stand would have to be replaced. I believe the situation in 2022 was that the old tent had been virtually condemned and something had to be done at the South end. There were two options which I put forward on here as being worth exploring. One was to replace the tent with a more modern temporary structure of a similar size and capacity which would satisfy the safety authorities and be low cost. The other was to be more ambitious and draw up plans for a full stadium redevelopment and make the South end the first phase. The new stadium plan I envisaged would have kept the same profile and skyline as the Mem was then which would be more acceptable to planners and local residents. That would have meant that at the South end there would be a low unobtrusive structure which would extend along the sides and rise majestically to match the height of the existing West and East Stands then fall and curve at the other end to roughly match the height of the Thatchers end. The 2023 accounts are back on line and I took another look at what the South Stand is actually costing. The loan with Nationwide Finance was for £1.4 million and was taken out on May 3rd so in the 2023 accounts there were 57 days interest charged. The interest figure is £43,547 for 57 days which is £764 per day or £279 000 per year which indicates the interest rate is about 20%. The repayments to Nationwide Finance in the 57 days between the loan being taken out and June 30th came to a total of £77,768 which extrapolates to £497 000 per year. It looks like we are paying nearly £500 000 per year for the South Stand while attendances have fallen by 10% from last season. No wonder there is tension between the owners.

Not unexpected and if I were Mr H Al Saeed I'd be spitting blood, but that is random Wael for you. Even worse, he gifted the responsibility of the temporary south stand development to his own anointed CEO who was so hapless he simply couldn't even win a one ticket raffle ! This is a monumentally big cock up which is bleeding the club uncontrollably.

Abdulatiff suggested at the Q&A the stand cost had risen to £3m, I assume he meant that was the final cost including the extra planning and building costs, if so, where has the extra £1.6m come an increase in the loan value? What I could never understand is why a close relation to a major shareholder at an investment bank as to take out a loan with a wonga type bank, I assume because an investment bank wouldn't take the risk of lending money to a football club.

The charge documents in favour of Nationwide Finance specifically mention that these charges cover current and future borrowings. So Rovers could have borrowed more post June 30th 2023 without a new charge being required and this would only show up in the June 30th 2024 accounts.

He could maybe be the new presenter of MOTD? I've already suggested Joe for MOTD. The viewing figures would go up for starters. With MOTD and many things I think it’s true to say you don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone. I think it’s sad that Gary L is leaving the programme, he will be missed. He is able to speak with some authority on football having played the game at the very top levels over a long period. He has grown in his ability to present compared to the beginning and now presents with confidence, humour and respect, the programme is the most relaxed of all football programmes due to his easy manner. Of course some of his tweets may annoy but they don’t impinge on his ability to present a well-loved programme so have no relevance to his job on MOTD. He is entitled to a view just as we are. And no bas, the figures for MOTD would not go up with JB presenting. A silly suggestion (but not a serious one I think). The figures would drop like a stone because no reputable pundit would appear with him, a large chunk of the audience would stop watching not wanting to be associated with him. He would present like he manages, looking for confrontation, welcoming it, respecting no one except himself, little humour and attracting no one except a narrow kind of ‘mate’ and there would be regular misogenic digs at various people. No thanks. And if the BBC thought they had trouble with GL and his tweets then JB and his record of tweeting would be a whole new ball game. (As you well know) Let him continue to appear where he does currently, not on the BBC. We, as a football club, are finding it hard enough trying to exorcise ourselves from his reputation and time with us I wouldn’t expect the national broadcaster to associate themselves with him. The board of governors would have more consideration for the BBC and its reputation than WAQ ever did for BRFC and our reputation. UTG!

Possibly Droitwich, but I checked maybe half a dozen online articles on JB and the support for his point of view was overwhelming. An online article on him by eg the Guardian probably would'nt see so much support for him. We've got Roy Keane on the box.A thug of a player. Glen Hoddle, strange offensive ideas on being reborn . Hypocrite Gary Neville,Quatar filthy lucre. What's his name, the former player tipped by some to replace Lineker, sacked for sending women photos of his willy. Football is for everyone. We know Joe won't get the job,not in a million years and when I suggested him originally I was only fishing a bit Then I realised that you could make a serious case for him. Only conversational, as it won't happen.

Redeveloping the Mem is a pipe dream, not going to happen with this board. South stand looks like it could be dismantled quite easily, so fulfilling its brief of temporary. Flood lights casting a terrible shadow from the top of the temporary stand, not thought through. Then there’s the Nick Higgs type funding we keep hearing about, payday loans etc When Wael took over I remember listening to Geoff Twentyman saying we were the 5th richest club in the league? I think, he got that information from someone, everything since has been keeping us afloat, which we thank Wael and the new owners for, but this is the problem with the gas, always has been, never had anyone like lansdown, or for that matter, Dolman or Davidson, only with serious money will we get into the championship, our glass ceiling is League one. It’s hard to see other smaller clubs historically flying past us but the crowds won’t come with the current set up I’m afraid

The board of governors would have more consideration for the BBC and its reputation than WAQ ever did for BRFC and our reputation. UTG! Yep,GL presented MOTD very well, how you described it.His elocusion lessons kept the BBC happy too. As for expressing his political views,I think that's the reason his contract is not being renewed. The loophole excuse he used was irritating. He's self employed and so not officially a BBC employee. Viewing figures with JB presenting. That would actually be very interesting and no,I don't think it's "silly" to suggest figures would go up.I think it perfectly conceivable viewing figures go up. Millions of football fans are sick to death of woke,BBC style. Donald just smashed Kamala. GB News regularly gets better viewing figures than the BBC and Sky. The rise of the Reform Party. The BBC have irritated, annoyed and offended far too often. March 2023,Mr Linecker suspended by the BBC,the MOTD viewing figures, minus GL ,soared by 500,000. We won't find out,but if Mr Musk put money into a Saturday night competitor to MOTD ,it might do well. JB could present it,perhaps with a regular expert who played the game, then all sorts of guests,Jeremy Corbyn,John Rotten,Starmer( too much Arsenal? ) Lofty formerly of East Enders , he's a regular at Whaddon Road I'm told ( actually, think he's a Gooner too! ) .Etc.They could call it eg NTMOTD,Not The Match Of The Day.Perhaps MOTDYC,Match of the Day You Caaaaaaaaaant.Perhaps not. As said,I think it perfectly possible viewing figures would go up if JB presented MOTD. The current owners of Bristol Rovers are doing a very good job of harming Rovers reputation. Not represented at board level at London Road this season. Match day grub for WSM players. The them and us divide with Gasheads.Etc.Blaming JB,a whole year since he was sacked ( a mistake, but the Saeeds are not football people ), is a mistake. The top brass at the BBC have been reported for breaking hundreds of their own rules. They have shown a stupid and naive attitude to the peoples station reputation. The BBC are a woke bad joke to millions of Britons. Yes,Linecker may be missed Wareham, but not as much as our once upon a time neutral BBC.
