For those of us that are British, so Welsh,Scottish, Northern Irish or English.

I suppose I ought to give my answer.

Jesus Christ What a stupid question. I'm not sure why Bas is asking, maybe he feels some on here don't, falling for Ltdgas' narrative everyone with a conscience is a commie. đ

Jesus Christ What a stupid question. Why is it a "stupid question "? Your response is predictably stuck up and rude, but say why you think it a "stupid question ". It seems you think yourself above such a topic,or you're ashamed of being British.

I'm not particularly, sorry. I probably was as a child but definitely less so more recently. In some ways the 'Great' in Britain feels like it's lead to an inflated sense of importance, and 'proud' to be British an excuse for some to behave appallingly when travelling or towards anything foreign. I know a lot here won't like it, but living on past 'glories' will get us nowhere. That said, I do respect our achievements and probably wouldn't have wanted to grow up anywhere else. But proud now? No

Look,I know you to be an antisemitic old racist,a Lefty bigot, an intellectual snob etc.You applaud the attempted thievery of our history, you support Hamas etc. So maybe just just run along to a pro Islamist anti British culture thread.

No Fair enough, the Great bit isn't a self imposed piece of vanity though, it's from the Brittania major (Brittania minor was Brittany) and was later referring to a proposed union of English and Scottish crowns in the 15th century.

A bit random, but came to mind.
Many advancements in military weapons. Eg,the Long Bow.
Welsh or English invention apparently.

Okay I'll play along. đ§ While the longbow is possibly associated with Welsh and English archers in the middle ages, it can be traced further back in time and across different countries. Agincourt probably only because of Shakespeare. Crecy was famous too.

No Fair play PUP. I think there are very few people that feel pride in being British is an excuse to show a lack of respect to foreign countries and people. Did this reputation come from our football clubs travelling abroad? Our middle class at the Dordoign being embarrassed by our working class at Majorca? Ar'nt most Britons pretty good these days? On going abroad adapt the " when in Rome" rule? We even allow some ( a large number ) to ignore that "when in Rome" rule when they move to GB. Awfully right on.
