In the same way that the radicals on here call left of centre people traitors who hate their country, I will offer the following suggestion: the haters were desperately hoping Labour and the budget fails, so they can revel in the harm that would have been caused to 'ordinary working people" by an economic crisis.
Selfish barstewards. In my time following politics I've been willing to give credit to certain Tories for a job well done. For insurance, John Major for his handing of the economy and party post-Maggie, and Rishi Sunak for his management of the COVID crisis.
But I doubt if we'll hear anything positive from the crew on here because they are blinded by their dogmatic views.
You won't hear anything on here about it from me,as Ive never once talked economics or budgets as it doesn't interest me now.
The world will tick over regardless of today.
I lost all interest in any goverment promising anything in budgets after I paid 24k out of my own pocket for personal home care for my sister between 2010 - 2019, when her PIP allowance was cut back by 75% dispute her at the time needing - 24hr personal care due to going into status seizures, having no spleen, being autistic with learning difficulties, and in the last year having her bladder removed due to an evil NHS learning difficulties nurse lying about my sister a decade ago that kept a catheter in her during that time when there was no need.
I challenged all this funding, and got told it was due to the growing population and goverment cutbacks.
She is more stable now, but has to go to reviews each six mouth for her PIP in order to justify her need for it.
Maybe this answers why I hold certain views on here...
Sorry to hear about your sister's problems ice. Hope she.continues to improve.

"Guido hears rapid efforts are currently underway to organise gilet-jaune-style protests among disparate farming groups on the back of Reeves’ budget measures yesterday. Reeves went back on Labour’s pre-election promise and axed Agricultural Property Relief on Inheritance Tax, replacing it with a 50% rate of relief on assets worth over £1 million…
Back before the election when Labour was pretending to be low-tax the then Shadow Environment Secretary Steve Reed reassured the Country Land and Business Association conference: “We have no intention of changing APR.” He twice confirmed Labour wouldn’t alter the tax relief as the CLA’s president stressed it would “in a single swipe would take small farms out”…
One protest organiser tells Guido: “We haven’t seen this kind of anger in among farmers since the Countryside March.” Co-conspirators will remember the 400,000-strong rural protests back in 2002 which threatened to topple Blair…
Alongside an expected massive petition there are likely to be organised marches. One incensed farmer tells Guido:
“I look forward to bringing my tractor and other agricultural machinery to Whitehall, and maybe also to Labour’s conference in Liverpool next year. If Labour wants to close down family farming we’ll close down Labour first. They have lied through their teeth about supporting farmers and deserve to be held to account.”
Another tells Guido that this is “going to make food more expensive for everyone. Farming is already tough, and piling on these costs will force smaller farms out, which will mean fewer local options and higher prices at the store. People need to understand that when we struggle, the whole country feels it at the dinner table.” The CLA now estimates that capping APR at £1 million will affect 70,000 UK farms. The policy is predicted to have the effect of “damaging family businesses and destabilising food security.“ £1 million is low – huge farm conglomerates will be the only ones able to absorb the cost…
Rural sources say if farmers and the public get their act together we should expect to see “buckets full of sh*t getting dumped on parliament” before too long. Reeves may come to regret this one…"
Protests from farmers coming our way, and rightly so.
Labour MPS laughing at the Tories when the National Insurance hike was announced and then had the audacity to cheer a 1p reduction in the price of a pint of beer. So depending where you live in the UK buy 500-700 pints and get one free!

And trying to bury another bit of bad news amongst the noise from the budget is the news that yesterday Angela Rayner declared another 3,550 quids worth of free clothes from Lord Ali.

Has anyone yet seen an up to date photo of the Southport murder suspect?
All we've seen, so far as I know,is a photo of him when he was 9 or 10.
This is not usual.
I think there may well be information about this suspect the authorities are determined to keep from the public as long as possible.
There are drawings of him in court,he pulls his sweatshirt up over his face and you just see his eyes and a mass of hair sticking up in the air ...probably going for the 'mental health issue' excuse...

I've only just read this ice, that's awful to hear. I apply for PIP regularly for people I work with, and it's a complete lottery on how it's dealt with and awarded. It's exactly the same form for mental health as it is for any physical conditions, which can be tricky. What seems to work best is to always emphasise the impact the condition has on functioning levels and the amount of support/prompting is required by others. That and always use the very worst days as your examples. Getting professionals on your side can help (although it doesn't sound like it in your Sister's case) and when the DWP ring me for more info it usually means it's likely to be awarded. I've always sent supporting letters by that point too.
What is strange is the way some people seem to be able to escape the reviews and others are hounded, despite having chronic diagnoses.
I hope your Sister is getting the support she needs, it sounds like having a brother like you is a great advocate for her. If you can get a professional to write supporting letters alongside details of hospital admissions, medical reviews, treatment etc it may help. Citizens Advice can sometimes support with applications too, if you made an appointment with a benefits specialist there they may also help to support the application. Good luck to you and your family 👍
Today Labour increased tuition fees, the first time they have been raised since 2016. This is after promising they would not do so during the election campaign.
More Labour lies.

When Universities are facing very serious financial difficulties, not least because of the downturn in overseas students...what should they do?
