There is a big difference between what we think and what we know. I understand your anger even at the government, but that's an opinion not yet proven. It may well do but we don't know that, which is my point. Speculation is all well and good, but it won't heal wounds, bring back the poor girls or help the families grieve. It just pours more petrol onto the fire and solves nothing. It's facts and proven motivation which will determine guilt and sentence. I truly hope he spends the rest of his life in prison. This, Absolutely. What I detest almost as much as what this kid did, is people using this terrible event to vent their prejudices and unfounded opinions on social media which does nothing to resolve any inherent issues, but only serves to help them feel better about themselves. Some might call that selfish, insular, thinking. "which does nothing to resolve any inherent issues" - and therein lay the problem. The government/authorities are doing nothing to solve the inherent problem, and it is this that is pissing people off.

Today's Budget speech. I expect to hear a lot about "tough decisions", "Tory chaos", "working people", "investment", "fixing foundations", "the poorest in society", "black hole", "change".

The view from Bloomberg
"Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves had one crucial objective in delivering the new Labour government’s first budget: To set out a viable plan that passes muster with the real overseers of the nation’s finances — the bond market. Broadly, she succeeded in that mission.”
Well done Rachel

In the same way that the radicals on here call left of centre people traitors who hate their country, I will offer the following suggestion: the haters were desperately hoping Labour and the budget fails, so they can revel in the harm that would have been caused to 'ordinary working people" by an economic crisis. Selfish barstewards. In my time following politics I've been willing to give credit to certain Tories for a job well done. For instance, John Major for his handing of the economy and party post-Maggie, and Rishi Sunak for his management of the COVID crisis. But I doubt if we'll hear anything positive from the crew on here because they are blinded by their dogmatic views.

You won't hear anything on here about it from me,as Ive never once talked economics or budgets as it doesn't interest me now. The world will tick over regardless of today. I lost all interest in any goverment promising anything in budgets after I paid 24k out of my own pocket for personal home care for my sister between 2010 - 2019, when her PIP allowance was cut back by 75% dispute her at the time needing - 24hr personal care due to going into status seizures, having no spleen, being autistic with learning difficulties, and in the last year having her bladder removed due to an evil NHS learning difficulties nurse lying about my sister a decade ago that kept a catheter in her during that time when there was no need. I challenged all this funding, and got told it was due to the growing population and goverment cutbacks. She is more stable now, but has to go to reviews each six mouth for her PIP in order to justify her need for it. Maybe this answers why I hold certain views on here...

Well, in the run up to the election, the mantra trotted out by Labour was that they would fund public services by growing the economy. I do not see any growth measures in this budget.

Aim your anger well. Thank you Oldie. I'm over anger now,the damage has been done so no point living in the past. But I've never directed any that I had at innocent individuals. But when people see my views on immigration and the system on here, this isn't because I'm a blind racist and bigot.I have a long line of grievances that has shape my opinions from years of bad experiences. But that's not a discussion for this thread.

At the NHS that needs reform rather than vast amounts of money chucked at it .
