I think some perspective is called for. The truth appears to be that this incident was triggered when Social Services attempted to remove children from a home they lived in with their parents. The parents became aggressive and so the Social Services team called the police for help. Why that caused the riot and arson we can only speculate. But a full investigation is under way. What is disgraceful is MPs coming out with inflammatory comments when it is clear they are unaware of the detail. That would be you Farage. For the record I am led to believe the family in question were not of Asian or Afro Caribbean origin nor were they Muslim (as far as I know). So, like Farage, the hate mongers on here need to get their facts straight. But then truth and facts are an anathema to you, are they not? So blinded are you by such hatred. While the " race/ ethnicity" of the family involved is not made clear( irrelevant anyway) what is clear that there are video clips of males of Asian descent attempting to set fire to a bus, with lighted incendaries , that was eventually destroyed by fire

Yep, I'm pretty sure it was just a peaceful street protest, until someone burst onto the scene and holding their phone aloft declared, "has everyone seen the inflammatory comments made by Farage?!?!" At this point phones were produced, and the shocked peaceful protesters, upon reading these inflammatory comments, immediately began to chunter ! "Let's set fire to a bus", shouted one of the peaceful protestors. "How on earth can we sit idly by and let these disgusting inflammatory comments go unanswered?". Another shouted, "bring out your young kids and let them witness how we rise up against the oppressors and their inflammatory comments!" Oh yes Oldie, I can just see how it all unfolded.

Ah good That cuts out the need for a full and proper investigation by the police, charges to be brought and the CPS to prosecute. Let's have decisions of cause and guilt made by an unruly mob of ill informed speculators complaining about an unruly mob of probable criminals setting fire to property and risking life. Some people

"Economic growth in the UK may have lagged behind the much faster pace seen in the US because households are still sitting on excess savings worth up to £338 billion ($437 billion), according to the Office for National Statistics."
Alright, which one of you is hoarding 😂😂

Alright, which one of you is hoarding 😂😂 or... "Economic growth in the UK is growing much faster than the major European countries, and is expected to increase pace because households are still sitting on excess savings worth up to £338 billion ($437 billion), according to the Office for National Statistics." It's the way it's reported that is false. Yes, we are behind the US in growth, but we are ahead of the major European countries! I prefer optimism to pessimism.

Ha ha That's a bit like saying "Yeah, I know we lost 3-1, but look at the other lot, they lost 4-0"😂 I always like to compare against an exemplar rather than a lower common denominator.

How can you possibly compare the US economy to the UK economy? "I always like to compare against an exemplar rather than a lower common denominator." - Is that an admission that the EU economy is the "lower common denominator"? If so, why do you want us to rejoin it?

You really should stop tap dancing on pin heads.

Are the Conservative Party populist now? We'll see how quick Cooper is to point out the cost of Labours lack of action immigration wise is. The financial cost. The cost of the imported crime, immeasurable to the victims. Cost to our culture. Etc etc.

I was just pointing out that the UK growth was quicker than the European countries, which actually is a better barometer. What is this 'dancing on pinheads'? I am only pointing out the flaws in your argument.

Well, Labour are saying they are going to speed up the 'processing of claims'. Will they just rubber stamp the existing claims, and then say they have solved the problem? How will they remove those people whose claims have been rejected? We all know that a major problem is removing those whose claims have failed. Immigration is a major issue, and one of the reasons why the Tories were kicked out. I don't see Labour offering any solutions. The people of this country are watching. If Labour don't deliver, they will suffer the same fate as the Tories.

Keir Starmer calls Rishi Sunak 'prime minister' in Commons slip-up..
Sir Keir Starmer joked that "old habits die hard" as he appeared to give the leader of the opposition his old job back.
In one of their first exchanges in the Commons with reversed roles, the Labour leader referred to Rishi Sunak as the PM.

Apparently there has been some consideration given to stopping MPs having a second job.
I don't think this will happen, unless Labour are spiteful and worried enough by Reform ,to stop Farage working on GB News.

If they want to keep their hand in with professions like lawyers and doctors, then it should be voluntary. I'd also stop them from taking directorships for at least a further parliament on leaving.

Not sure, but I think the PM carried on working as a Lawyer and an MP for some time. You might think he'll be against stopping it.
