Amazing own goal by Sunak yesterday as he left the D Day memorial yesterday early to record a political broadcast.
Is he deliberately trying to lose this election? Nobody can be that inept surely (Corbyn aside)

Adding meat to the bones of the post above...ichef.bbci.co.uk/live-experience/cps/1440/cpsprodpb/125A8/production/_133367157_sunak-dday-reuters.jpgRishi Sunak has apologised for leaving Normandy prematurely on Thursday - he was there commemorating the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings Reports had circulated that Sunak left ahead of world leaders gathering on Omaha Beach, and it later transpired he'd taken part in an ITV interview Writing on social media, Sunak said "it was a mistake not to stay in France longer, and I apologise" - Labour has accused him of a "dereliction of duty" Earlier, Sunak denied that claims he made about Labour's tax plans were dubious, after Keir Starmer accused him of lying Asked in an interview - the one Sunak did with ITV on Thursday - if he would lie "to stay in power", the prime minister said "no" It comes after a TV debate between Sunak and Starmer, during which the PM claimed a Labour government would mean ÂŁ2,000 of tax rises per working household The statistics watchdog has criticised Sunak's presentation of the number, saying people would not know it was a sum totalled over four years ichef.bbci.co.uk/live-experience/cps/624/cpsprodpb/vivo/live/images/2024/6/7/9eaf8006-0cbf-47b2-801a-2bb822414b38.jpgUK Foreign Secretary David Cameron, French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and US President Joe Biden at a ceremony on Omaha Beach, which Rishi Sunak missed 'Dreadful judgement' - senior politicians react to Sunak's D-Day apology..Some reaction to bring you now from a number of the other parties, following Rishi Sunak's apology for leaving D-Day events early: Liberal Democrat leader Sir Ed Davey echoes Labour's condemnation last night, branding the prime minister's decision to leave early âa dereliction of dutyâ. He says: âOne of the greatest privileges of the office of prime minister is to be there to honour those who served, yet Rishi Sunak abandoned them on the beaches of Normandy" Reform UK leader Nigel Farage accuses Sunak of similar, saying he "could not even be bothered to attend the international event on Omaha Beach" And after calling out the prime minister last night, Labour's shadow paymaster general Jonathan Ashworth has responded to Sunak's apology this morning - saying the PM chose to "prioritise his own vanity TV appearances over our veterans". He adds: "It is yet more desperation, yet more chaos, and yet more dreadful judgement from this out of touch prime minister"

I got caught out last night because Question Time was on early (8PM) and was flicking channels so decided to watch it. I never bother normally because the odd occasion I do it appears to be just circus entertainment trying to goad politicians into saying something stupid.
However I watched this long service nurse practitioner speak and she spoke with passion
"NHS nurse clashes with Tory minister in heated Question Time debate: âYou talk absolute rubbishâ An NHS nurse clashed with a Tory minister during a heated Question Time debate on Thursday (6 June) as she told him âYou talk absolute rubbishâ.
The nurse, who had worked in the NHS for 37 years, addressed Mark Harper, telling him social care had been âdecimatedâ.
She said: âPatients are dying in corridors. If you sorted out social care and put your money where your mouth is, then all these issues would be sorted.
âYou are talking absolute rubbish because you are trying to decimate the NHS and we all know that. You donât want it and you never have wanted it.â

You know and I know and practically any sane sensible person knows that the NHS, in it's current format, is not fit for purpose! It's needs a complete reform. Nobody is trying to to decimate the NHS, and quite frankly, it's a silly emotive thing to say. I didn't watch last night's, but being in Chester did they touch upon what is happening in Wales? The NHS here is a complete shambles with the longest waiting times in the UK. The Welsh, like the Scottish with the Barnett Formula, receive more funding from central government per head than the English. The NHS in Wales has been run by Labour since 1999. The solution of the Nurse you mentioned is "more money". That will not fix anything, and we all know it. People dying in corridors? It might help if the Doctor's were not continually on strike eh!

She highlighted the fact that it is the disaster in Social Care that is the primary cause of the issues in hospital care. Even Johnson referred to it after the 2019 election when he claimed there was an "oven ready" solution. Of course he was making it up. This mess has a knock on affect on immigration as well, as stated previously, we issued 89,000 work visas for care workers last year.
No party is being honest about this and the true cost of sorting it out

What else has Labour been doing in Wales? Well, they seem hellbent on inflicting policy and they don't care what people think. They always disguise things under the "consultation" blanket. Yes, nothing is implemented without "consultation" but it is always just a paper exercise. The 20 mph speed limit is a joke. It's causing far more pollution. Their farming policy, What a belter this is. They are introducing a policy where every farmer has to allocate 20% of his land to "wilding". They either have to plant trees on it or allow it to just become "wild". As you can imagine, farmer's are not that happy with this. Protests take place constantly in Cardiff, but it will be implemented after "consultation". So, the farming policy to help the environment while the 20mph policy works against the environment. The Labour government here has also put on a ban on any new infrastructure (ie new roads) or even improvements to existing roads. There is even talk of reintroducing tolls on the Severn Bridges. Apparently, this will reduce the amount of traffic in Wales and save the Polar Bears, and give the politicians more money to waste. I don't think this would do anything to help the Welsh economy.
and of course, who could possibly forget this......
"The prime minister has attacked Welsh Labour for allowing some asylum seeker children to take part in Wales' basic income pilot. The ÂŁ20m scheme offers ÂŁ1,600 a month to 18-year-olds leaving care, including unaccompanied asylum seekers. Mr Sunak said it was unbelievable ministers wanted to pay "illegal migrants". The Welsh government has said it wanted to help young asylum seekers rebuild their lives. While it is not clear how many asylum seekers are claiming the cash, BBC Wales was told a small number of asylum seekers are taking part. The Welsh government denied that the young people involved are illegal migrants. Ministers launched the basic income scheme last year to see how the payments could help care leavers be better placed as they become more independent. From the start of the project, unaccompanied asylum seeker children (UASC) turning 18 have been able to apply for the money, which amounts to ÂŁ1,280 a month after tax."

Iâd add my daughter is saying one of the biggest issues for her has been for a while understanding what doctors / consultants are telling her , she said that is now being compounded by patients that cannot understand her / or her them You can blame it on the tories as much as they like , they certainly deserve there part . But the fact is the nhs is becoming overwhelmed by the amount of people that need treatment , no suprise when you shoehorn 30 million extra people into a country of 50 million And whatâs the commies answer to this more migration as we havenât got enough nurse đ, well obviously not as 30 million people need more nurses to treat them , and more migration to get those nurses will mean you need even more nurses to treat them , repeat , repeat repeat đ

Scottish FM calls Sunak's D-Day exit 'disrespectful' to veterans..by Lorna Gordon, Scotland correspondent.ichef.bbci.co.uk/live-experience/cps/624/cpsprodpb/vivo/live/images/2024/6/7/0de90e57-651e-4411-88c7-5dbf8745c103.jpgCross-party reaction to Rishi Sunak leaving D-Day commemorations prematurely is continuing to come in - with Scottish First Minister John Swinney (who was also in Normandy) speaking to reporters on the issue here in Glasgow. Swinney says Sunak made "a truly, breathtakingly terrible decision" to leave the D-Day commemorations early. It was not only "disrespectful" to veterans, he says, adding that Sunak "should have been there to represent the international interests of the United Kingdom" at a major gathering of world leaders. Sunak will have to answer for his own actions, Starmer says..ichef.bbci.co.uk/live-experience/cps/624/cpsprodpb/vivo/live/images/2024/6/7/9f48c83b-1398-4a18-99b8-615c38788c77.jpgWe've just heard from Labour leader Keir Starmer, who says Rishi Sunak "will have to answer for his own actions" after leaving D-Day commemoration events in Normandy prematurely yesterday. "For me, there was nowhere else I was going to be," Starmer told reporters on a campaign visit.

Unless your going to get the existing nurse to look after 20 bays on a ward rather than the 1/2 they presently do Take the bloody blinkers off More people = more nurses / hospital / doctors / houses / , more of every bloody thing

Rishi Sunak PM: 'I care deeply' about veterans..ichef.bbci.co.uk/live-experience/cps/624/cpsprodpb/vivo/live/images/2024/6/7/a6f5304d-8b9a-4061-81b6-f4096e2d3324.jpgSunak was speaking to Sky News, as part of what's called a pool clip (more on that in our last post), during a visit to a nursery in SwindonIt's put to Sunak that he seems more exasperated than apologetic, and he's asked why he couldn't "give up an afternoon" for people who "gave up their lives". The prime minister says he attended various D-Day events, both in Portsmouth and France, and that he should be judged on his record supporting the Armed Forces: "In this campaign, it's the Conservative Party led by me which is increasing the amount of investment that we're putting into our Armed Forces to 2.5% of GDP." "I care deeply," Sunak goes on to say, when it's suggested he doesn't. He also repeats that his itinerary was set weeks ago. "I stuck to the itinerary that had been set for me as prime minister weeks ago, before the election, fully participated," he says. "As I said, on reflection it was a mistake not to stay longer and I've apologised for that, but I also don't think it's right to be political in the midst of D-Day commemorations."
