Not a bad effort Oldie, but really, quite unconvincing. The numbers are wrong? Statistics are handy if they are relevant.

Statistics are handy if they are relevant. Hard to avoid when they represent the facts.

Apparently the Irish will have to go through their EU masters red tape to declare the UK a safe country so they can then possibly send back the illegal immigrants that have travelled from the UK.
Thing is,it will also mean the EU will have to declare Rwanda a safe country too.🙂 After all,the UK declaring Rwanda safe was part of their crime.
The Irish appear entangled in their own wicked web of nonsense and hypocrisy.

Imagine When we were members, by terms of the Treaty, we could send migrants who arrive from a EU country without appropriate documentation back to that country. Halcyon days

Halcyon days Of course, it was all sweetness and light before Brexit wasn't it? No, it was a shambles then and even now the EU members cannot agree amongst themselves regarding a decent immigration policy. Let's drop the pretence that before Brexit everything worked well. Why not try to be honest with your arguments.

Just pointing out, in response to a post which clearly exposed no understanding, that as Members of the EU and under the terms of that Treaty, we could send migrants back to the EU country from which they departed. Now we cannot.

I cannot be bothered to go back over the stats pre and post membership, but if it didn't happen that was down to us. Under the terms of the treaty the country of their departure would have to have taken them back.

Halcyon days I'm talking about Irelands illegal immigration problems today,2024. We left EU ages ago. Your nostalgic dreaming is 'non oportet'.

Estimated 10,000 Irish people ( from all walks of life ) have been protesting in Dublin, against the illegal immigrants that have invaded their country.
The Irish say they are full. They see the council house waiting lists, real concerns for their culture. Etc.
Many think they eventually got rid of British rule, only to now be ruled by the European Union.
Not happy.

But rather like London runs England, Dublin runs Ireland. The cosmopolitan elite are totally out of touch with working class people out in the shires. Ireland is on the edge. You won't see that reported on the BBC. Because it does not fit "the agenda".

The reality "Justice minister Helen McEntee briefed that up to 91% of those making applications were now coming in "across the border" - the open border on the island between Northern Ireland in the UK, and EU member state, the Republic of Ireland." Another consequence of Brexit.

I think you'll find the answer is 'YES'! As for Ireland, as a Remainer aren't you happy about what is happening? Surely you are in favour of Open Borders in the EU?
