Approx. 700 Israelis murdered. Over 100 kidnapped. It will be interesting to hear the usual Palestinian apologists trying to defend this. This is actually a far worse terrorist attack than 911. I expect the response from Israel with be huge, and quite frankly, who can blame them.

I am a supporter of the struggle of the Palestinian people for their occupied homelands, and I am an opponent of Israeli expansionism and annexation of Jerusalem.
The recent crimes of the Iran-funded Islmanist rape and death cult have nothing to do with that, and I condemn them absolutely, and understand Israeli retaliation against Hamas's Gaza.
The whole situation is truly awful.

Just for a bit of balance and background
"More than 200 Palestinians and nearly 30 Israelis have been killed so far this year in the occupied West Bank and Israel – a level of violence surpassing last year’s entire death toll and the highest number of fatalities since 2005, the United Nations Middle East envoy has said."
"Tor Wennesland, UN special coordinator for the Middle East peace process, told the UN Security Council on Monday that escalating violence is being fuelled by growing despair about the future among Palestinians and a lack of progress towards achieving an independent state."
And this, which rarely gets reported
*He pointed to the unabated expansion of illegal Israeli settlements, Israel’s demolition of Palestinian homes, operations by Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank areas under Palestinian administrative and police control, and attacks by Israeli settlers on Palestinian villages."
That was taken from a UN report of August this year

That was taken from a UN report of August this year You are talking about the West Bank, which is ran by the Palestinian Authority. It's totally different to Gaza, which is ran by Hamas. You also seem to forget that Israel forcibly removed it's own people from Gaza and areas of the West Bank and gave the land back to the Palestinians. "The Israeli disengagement from Gaza was the unilateral dismantling in 2005 of the 21 Israeli settlements in the Gaza Strip and the evacuation of Israeli settlers and army from inside the Gaza Strip. The disengagement was proposed in 2003 by Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, adopted by the government in June 2004, and approved by the Knesset in February 2005 as the Disengagement Plan Implementation Law.[1] It was implemented in August 2005 and completed in September 2005. The settlers who refused to accept government compensation packages and voluntarily vacate their homes prior to the 15 August 2005 deadline were evicted by Israeli security forces over a period of several days.[2] The eviction of all residents, demolition of the residential buildings and evacuation of associated security personnel from the Gaza Strip was completed by 12 September 2005.[3] The eviction and dismantlement of the four settlements in the northern West Bank was completed ten days later. 8,000 Jewish settlers from the 21 settlements in the Gaza Strip were relocated. The settlers received an average of more than US$200,000 in compensation per family.[4]" Have you looked at the Hamas Charter? Here are a couple of nice bits.... "Rejection of a Negotiated Peace Settlement: ------------------------------------------- '[Peace] initiatives, and so-called peaceful solutions and international conferences are in contradiction to the principles of the Islamic Resistance Movement... Those conferences are no more than a means to appoint the infidels as arbitrators in the lands of
Islam... There is no solution for the Palestinian problem except by Jihad. Initiatives, proposals and international conferences are but a waste of time, an exercise in futility.' (Article 13)""' The Day of Judgment will not come about until Moslems fight Jews and kill them. Then, the Jews will hide behind rocks and trees, and the rocks and trees will cry out: 'O Moslem, there is a Jew hiding behind me, come and kill him.' (Article 7)
'The enemies have been scheming for a long time ... and have accumulated huge and influential material wealth. With their money, they took control of the world media... With their money they stirred revolutions in various parts of the globe... They stood behind the French Revolution, the Communist Revolution and most of the revolutions we hear about... With their money they formed secret organizations - such as the Freemasons, Rotary Clubs and the Lions - which are spreading around the world, in order to destroy societies and carry out Zionist interests... They stood behind World War I ...and formed the League of Nations through which they could rule the world. They were behind World War II, through which they made huge financial gains... There is no war going on anywhere without them having their finger in it.' (Article 22) 'Zionism scheming has no end, and after Palestine, they will covet expansion from the Nile to the Euphrates River. When they have finished digesting the area on which they have laid their hand, they will look forward to more expansion. Their scheme has been laid out in the 'Protocols of the Elders of Zion'.' (Article 32) 'The HAMAS regards itself the spearhead and the vanguard of the circle of struggle against World Zionism... Islamic groups all over the Arab world should also do the same, since they are best equipped for their future role in the fight against the warmongering Jews.' (Article 32)" The bare facts are that Hamas want the complete death and destruction of all Jews. They will not accept any peace talks, any reconciliation, any compromise. This talk of the Palestinians becoming 'fed up' or 'tired' is complete and utter nonsense. They have been offered a Two State solution, and they have rejected it!

As much as this is a repulsive act of terrorism by Hamas we shouldn't lose sight of the plight of Palestinians in general and the fact that retribution taken by the Israelis will impact those Palestinians the most. It is an endless cycle of the killing of innocents caused by lunatic administration's in Gaza and the current fruit cakes running Israel in Tel Aviv. Shouting won't help change that.

Because I believe that if Israel did that the Hamas extremists would be isolated and the Arab states would put extreme pressure on a Palestinian state to comply. The rogue State in that equation would be Iran. Given the state of their economy that could be used as leverage, in fact I believe that is starting to happen, the rapprochement with Saudi being an example. We cannot carry on doing this, each side killing each other to no avail which in itself breeds the next generation of angry young men who seek an outlet in extremism.

The situation is very complex pre this attempt at an invasion. The unstoppable and the immovable. One won't talk and is insistent on the death of the country. The other runs an apartheid system and encourages settlers to take property by stealth.
In the middle are people who just want to live their lives and of course can't. There is no simple solution. Just angry men convincing and using young people to fight for lost and historic causes. Just like Putin.
But this move by Hamas [who have learned nothing from previous conflicts like the 1967 war], which is as abhorrent as it is stupid, is suicide by proxy for the Palestinians. Murdering ordinary Israelis at a music festival, and subsequent actions are condemned by all. Israel will retaliate with an iron fist and ordinary people on both sides, as has already been seen will suffer and die. Mankind never learns.

Can't argue with most of that, except for the 'apartheid state" reference. Palestinians in Israel can go to school, go to University, become Doctor's, Teachers etc. They can even become politicians in Israel. In fact, for a brief period a Palestinian was acting President of Israel ! A Palestinian in Israel has no barriers to what they want to achieve. There are no Jews in Gaza. This is not just my opinion but fact. Which one is the 'apartheid state" ?

This will sound really bad, but I think that the hostages have been written off. Israel will know that any rescue attempts would be futile. The Israelis will never admit this but it's the reality of the situation. In my opinion Hamas thought they could buy time and/or their own people back, by taking Israeli hostages. The hostages were obviously seen as a bargaining chip. Israel has essentially taken that option away, but are Hamas aware of that? If Hamas do realise that, it could save hostages. As Hamas could send them back as a goodwill gesture to look good on the world stage. It would be the obvious thing for them to do if they want to save their own skins as Israel will then come under pressure not to level Gaza. However, I don't see that happening in reality. The moneymen behind Hamas, namely Iran, want to see the Palestinians suffer in the hope it will drag other players into the conflict. They want to conflict to continue and they don't really give a toss about the Palestinians. The people in Gaza are just seen as useful idiots by the Palestinian leadership and the Iranians.
I want to repeat this, as I think many are not aware of it, but this is an extract from the Hamas Charter:-
""Rejection of a Negotiated Peace Settlement: ------------------------------------------- '[Peace] initiatives, and so-called peaceful solutions and international conferences are in contradiction to the principles of the Islamic Resistance Movement... Those conferences are no more than a means to appoint the infidels as arbitrators in the lands of Islam... There is no solution for the Palestinian problem except by Jihad.
