Awful times for Huw Edwards. His career appears finished, with him in hospital.
Probably not the best time for the teenager and his/her family.
As for the BBC,well it appears another fine mess.
Their news departments leading light, has just gone out.

But Sun readers are delighted as the Murdoch press lands a hit on its biggest barrier to total media dominance. Truth? Pah! Wrecked a man's career? Whatever. Inflicted pain on a family? Live with it.
All in the name of money and falsehood.

I have a certain amount of sympathy for HE,in that his career is finished and his battles with depression but that's not to say I don't think him blameless. I suppose the story as a whole will come out sooner or later and then it maybe easier to dish out blame.

All in the name of money and falsehood. Murdoch doesn't care whose lives he destroys. He has power beyond measure with the likes of Johnson, Sunak and even Starmer sucking up to him and writing in his rag. However, it now appears that the Sun is back tracking on some of its previous comments. Perhaps they can see another court case coming up!

Although GB News is in the same pack.

First off I don't like The Sun. However, I don't think the argument should go the way of castigating them. The kids family had gone to the Police, and there was nothing they could do. They had gone to the BBC, but they were doing nothing. Finally the family went to The Sun. You cannot apportion blame to The Sun when this story quite literally fell into their lap! Murdoch is not destroying lives. Edwards has done that.
"Wrecked a man's career? Whatever. Inflicted pain on a family? Live with it." - No, Edwards did all of that himself.
As for the "mental health" issue, we've heard it all before. Schofield was down to "mental health". Any terrorist attack is always down to "mental health". It's a tired excuse that is always rolled out so we can relax and jog on. Nothing to see here eh! It is used because the authorities don't want to face, or tackle, the real issues. Oh, and with Edwards and Schofield because it was with young boys we have to be very careful what we say otherwise we'll be accused of being homophobic!

The BBC do seem to employ some dodgy people, makes me wonder what the interviews are like. I have laughed at other BBC employees saying 'it wasnt me' when you work for an outfit with such a sordid history they shouldnt be surprised when people think 'oh no you were probably up to something else'.

Have not the police concluded that no offence had taken place? Or is that not relevant? Were the parents "paid" for their story (I don't know but nor do you) Did the young man in question not put out a statement, through a legal team, that the accusations by his parents were bollox (my word)? How does anyone know the true state of Edwards health? Certainly nobody on here. Just love (hate actually) the holier than thou comments.

I do believe that several news casts throughout the day have indicated that he is in hospital/ care, suffering from mental health issues
