Has Starmer changed the law? When a first time offender gets 15 months inside for something she wrote on Facebook, you have to admit there is something wrong here. Perhaps, but that's under existing laws and sentencing guidelines. 2TK may be a good way to mock but it's not how things are at the moment.

Has Starmer changed the law? Some, clearly, do not understand the separation between the executive and the judiciary Or wilfully ignore.

Man who threw items at Farage gets suspended term..by Oli Constable, BBC News, Reporting from, Barnsley Magistrates' Court
i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/08/28/15/89022473-13788541-image-a-21_1724856539652.jpg Josh Greally, pictured launching a coffee cup at Farage before then reaching for another object A man who threw items towards Reform UK leader Nigel Farage during his general election campaign has been handed a suspended prison sentence. Josh Greally, from Chesterfield, was filmed throwing objects while Mr Farage was travelling on an open-top bus in Barnsley on 11 June. Barnsley Magistrates' Court heard Greally, 28, had gone to the town as part of a planned protest against Mr Farage. Greally, who had previously pleaded guilty to a charge of using threatening, abusive, insulting words and behaviour with intent to cause fear, was given a six-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months. Reacting to the sentencing, Mr Farage said Greally had been allowed to "walk free" after the "very dangerous, provocative, violent" incident. In a video posted on X, formerly Twitter, he said: "Today he's been given a suspended prison sentence. He will not serve any custodial time at all." He went on to call for more prisons to be built. Video from the incident showed Mr Farage shielding his face while items, believed to be coffee cups, hit the side of the double-decker. The court previously heard the objects "made a bang on the side of the bus" after Greally threw them from a building site next to the vehicle. Officers arrested Greally quickly, with no complaint being made to police, District Judge James Gould was told. CCTV played to the court showed Greally, who was wearing a red hoody, picking the items from a construction area and throwing them. It was a "planned offence", the judge said. The university graduate was a man of "previous good character" and had been remorseful, his defence barrister said. i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/08/28/15/89022471-13788541-image-a-22_1724856553425.jpgSentencing him, Judge Gould said the attack happened while Mr Farage was campaigning ahead of the general election, which aggravated the offence. Speaking to probation staff, Greally said it was a "planned offence" with him travelling from his Chesterfield home to Barnsley to join a group of protesters. While politicians may be challenged in discussion, "that must never spill over into violence or intimidation," the judge said. "That is not the pursuit of free speech, it is the attempt to silence the voice of opposition," he added. Greally was also ordered to complete 120 hours of unpaid work, 20 rehabilitation activity days, pay £85 costs and a surcharge of £154.

It was a coffee mug, with hardened cement in it that Grealish threw at Farage and those near him on the campaign trail in Barnsley.
Write something angry on the internet, after a beer or two and you get a custodial sentence.

Johnny Marr 'ignored' 2025 Smiths reunion offer - Morrissey..by Chris Long, BBC News, Manchester
i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2023/05/19/08/71170447-12101943-image-m-23_1684481213988.jpg The Smiths outside the Salford Lads Club. Pictured left to right - Marr, Morrissey, Rourke and Joyce Morrissey has claimed his former bandmate Johnny Marr "ignored" a "lucrative offer" to reform The Smiths for a global tour in 2025. The band, who formed in Manchester in 1982, produced four albums which arguably redefined British guitar music before an acrimonious split in 1987. A statement on Morrissey's website said the singer "said yes" to an offer by AEG Entertainment Group to tour as The Smiths throughout 2025, but "Marr ignored the offer". The guitarist has not responded, but dismissed a suggestion The Smiths should reform in the wake of the Oasis reunion by posting an image of Reform UK leader and Clacton MP Nigel Farage, a reference to his perception of Morrissey's political views. Fans have hoped for decades that the pair would reunite and rumours of any potential thawing in their relationship over the years have been met with excited speculation. However, the pair have had a difficult relationship since the guitarist left a few weeks before the release of The Smiths' final album in 1987, citing Morrissey's lack of flexibility. The singer was understood to be equally frustrated and annoyed that Marr was playing with other groups. That rift has become a chasm in recent years, with their reported political leanings adding to the animosity. Marr wrote about his sporadic meetings with Morrissey since The Smiths split in his 2016 autobiography and claimed there had been a "real prospect" of a reunion in 2008, but the singer had rebuffed the idea. In the same year, he told Sky News he believed Morrissey's views aligned with the then-UKIP leader's on Brexit, before posting in 2019 that their similarity would see any Smiths reunion feature "Nigel Farage on guitar". In 2022, a year after castigating The Simpsons for using him as the basis for a character who had become a meat-eating, overweight xenophobe, Morrissey published an open letter to Marr, calling on him to stop using the singer's name as "clickbait" and stop blaming him for everything from a tsunami to "the dribble on your grandma's chin". The latest statement from Morrissey, who rarely speaks to the media, said the live music promoter "made a lucrative offer to both Morrissey and Marr to tour worldwide as 'The Smiths' throughout 2025". "Morrissey said Yes to the offer; Marr ignored the offer," it said, beneath a picture of the pair during their time together in The Smiths. "Morrissey undertakes a largely sold out tour of the USA in November. "Marr continues to tour as a special guest to New Order." Marr and AEG Entertainment have been approached for comment. The songwriting partnership of Morrissey and Marr made their band one of the most important groups for a generation of music fans. The pair have gone on to have successful solo careers, with Marr also playing with a huge range of artists, including Billy Bragg, Beck, Crowded House, Oasis, Pet Shop Boys and Girls Aloud. The group's other two members, Mike Joyce and Andy Rourke, later took legal action against the pair over royalties. Rourke, who died in 2022, accepted an out-of-court settlement, while Joyce won a settlement of about £1m and a 25% share of future royalty earnings.

Nigel Farage is Britain's highest-paid MP after earning nearly £1.2m a year from GB News (plus £16,500 for saying hello to people on Cameo)..by Jon Brady.i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/08/17/08/88622625-13752583-image-a-4_1723880939377.jpgNigel Farage is thought to be Britain's highest-paid MP after his register of interests revealed he makes almost £1.2million a year from appearing on GB News. Clacton's newly elected MP - who got to know his local community by jetting off to the United States in a bid to catch the eye of Donald Trump - earns many times more than Reform MP Lee Anderson, who is paid £100,000 a year for his presenting role. The register shows Reform leader Farage is paid £97,928.40 a month for 32 hours of work presenting his show, which airs Monday to Thursday. He also made £16,597.22 from hiring himself out for personalised videos on Cameo - where he has been duped into saying rude names and using pro-Irish Republican slogans by pranksters - and earns £4,000 a month writing for the Daily Telegraph. The register also shows he was paid £11,783.55 by the AZ Liberty Network, an American conservative civic engagement group, for a future speaking engagement. The register notes that the payment is a deposit and that the final amount will change. i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/08/17/08/88622843-13752583-image-a-19_1723881509890.jpg Farage was gifted £2,000 ringside seats for a Derek Chisora fight by the boxer against Joe Joyce at The O2 last month i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/08/17/09/88622645-13752583-image-a-23_1723881677278.jpg Farage attending the state opening of parliament last month, a day before he set off for the US.

The Telegraph reported the Reform Party had 65,000 members in July.I imagine that number has risen. Keep up the good work 2TK. I would imagine there is fair amount of Buyers Remorse. You can fool me once, isn't that a TV thriller? Anyway, like you I have no idea Going by how quickly Labour and 2TK are disliked,I think it far more likely many Labour voters have remorse.

What, exactly, is your point in posting that rather strange photo of Farage?

Well well "The overhaul is part of a “democratisation of the party” which would give Reform members the chance to throw out their leader if things went badly.
At the moment it is a limited company with Mr Farage as the major shareholder but Mr Yusuf admitted that this was unsustainable with drawing up a party constitution an early priority"
Some of us already pointed this out.
Even more so
"Nigel Farage ditches Reform UK’s ‘contract with the people’ just 2 months after election After criticism that Reform UK’s election contract with the people was ‘Liz Truss on steroids’, new Reform UK chairman has admitted that the party is working on a new set of policies as well as drawing up rules enabling the party’s leader to be sacked"
What an absolute joke
