Here are some of your comments:
West Ham fans
Ian: A disappointing result having gone ahead after going behind. Fantastic goal from Kudus the highlight of the game. Turning point was the Antonio-Benrahma mix-up that cost us going two up. Don't understand Moyes' logic with his subs. Pace was needed. Why not Mubama and Cornet? Second-half performance was poor again. Moyes needs to react or will find himself under pressure. Mick: The table doesn’t lie. The early results were a combination of good luck, opposition being out of form and the Hammers taking their chances. Now the reality is starting to bite. Poor defending, minimal possession, and constantly turning the ball over. Neither Ings nor Antonio deserve a start and younger potential sits on the bench. Graham Potter please! Dave: Yet another disappointing performance. The back four, except our right-back, were underperforming - we need Creswell back, not Emerson. Again, we sat back and allowed Brentford to score and win. Thanks, though, to Kudus and Bowen, who played their part. Why can’t we play the West Ham way rather than this fluffing around at the back, passing to one another and going nowhere? Nick: Surely this is the end for Moyes? Absolutely clueless. Why oh why does he insist on bringing on Ings and Fornals? Why won't he play Scarles and Mubama? I've now given up.

ichef.bbci.co.uk/news/800/cpsprodpb/bab2/live/ccfd0590-7f1c-11ee-a503-4588075e3427.jpgWe asked for your views on manager David Moyes ahead of West Ham's Europa League game against Olympiakos.
Here are some of your thoughts:
Dylan: Everybody has to stop putting Moyes down. Without him, we wouldn't be in our third European tournament. We won one of them and finished in the top seven in the Premier League for two of those years. We should stick by him because I'm loving the journey we are having have with him. Yes, we have slipped down the table, but I believe that Moyes can change it. Paul: With their spending, West Ham are at best a mid-table team. A good season could mean maybe seventh or eighth place; a poor one flirting with relegation. Moyes has got the best out of the players he has and has enabled West Ham to slightly over-achieve. Europe was an unexpected bonus and kept Moyes in the job, when the owners wanted to get rid. Who would do better? Cheesemonk: This feels slightly reminiscent of when Charlton sacked Alan Curbishley, because they wanted to kick on and aim higher. See where it got them. We need to be grateful for what we have, and take a longer view of where West Ham have been in the past 20 years. I hope he stays and brings us more nights like the one in Prague. Tim: There's a definite need for a change of management and leadership. Moyes has lost his way, he appears unable or reluctant to change the team's style and approach. It's time to say thanks and move on. We have a nucleus of a good team that lacks direction and flexibility. Alan: Even though we won the Europa Conference League, we've been suffering from his dinosaur tactics in the league for the past two seasons. When we could have pushed on he retreatedted into his shell again. Unfortunately he doesn't have great man management skills and we've lost some extremely good players because of this. We need a change.

THURSDAY 9th NOVEMBER 2023 - EUROPA LEAGUE - GROUP A
West Ham United 1 (Lucas Paquetá 73) Olympiakos 0
ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/11CC/production/_131665540_gettyimages-1772944492.jpg Lucas Paqueta scored his third goal in this season's Europa LeagueLucas Paqueta's excellent finish 17 minutes from time gave West Ham victory in their Europa League encounter with Greek side Olympiakos to send them to the brink of the knockout stages. Paqueta lit up what had been a largely drab contest at the London Stadium when he perfectly met James Ward-Prowse's chipped cross into the penalty area and sent his volley into the corner. Although the goal was initially ruled out for offside, the Brazilian put his hands together in prayer, which was rewarded when video assistant referee confirmed Paqueta had been onside as Ward-Prowse delivered the crucial pass. The win, avenged West Ham's loss to the same opponents in Athens a fortnight ago, which marked the end of an impressive 17-match unbeaten run for David Moyes' side in Europe. ichef.bbci.co.uk/ace/standard/240/cpsprodpb/14664/production/_131665538_gettyimages-1784571362.jpg"It's good to get back on track. Olympiakos are a seasoned European team and they showed that tonight," said Hammers boss Moyes. "We're top of the group, we still have two matches to play but I think this is the hardest group we've had. Europe has been great for this football club, we've had some great nights and long may they continue. "He [Lucas Paqueta] took the goal brilliantly tonight but there were lots of things I wanted him to do better. We've got room for improvement." The result means West Ham remain above German rivals Freiburg at the head of Group A based on their head-to-head record, knowing two points from their final two games will be enough to ensure Europa League action after Christmas. Victory was not achieved without a late scare as Mady Camara hit the woodwork when he should have done better with a stooping header at the far post. But it was a disappointing night for watching Olympiakos owner Evangelos Marinakis, who will hope for better fortune on Sunday when his other club Nottingham Forest come here in the Premier League.

SUNDAY 12th NOVEMBER 2023 - PREMIER LEAGUE
West Ham United 3 (Lucas Paquetá 3, Bowen 65, Soucek 88) Nottingham Forest 2 (Awoniyi 44, Elanga 63)
ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/1EAA/production/_131705870_gettyimages-1789547661.jpg Tomas Soucek scored his third Premier League goal of the seasonTomas Soucek grabbed a late winner as West Ham came from behind to secure an entertaining Premier League win against Nottingham Forest. Soucek headed home from a James Ward-Prowse corner to give the Hammers a much-needed win after three defeats. Jarrod Bowen struck a second-half equaliser for the hosts before Soucek's late winner at London Stadium. Bowen also scored from a Ward-Prowse corner, rising highest to head home as the Hammers came back into the match soon after falling behind. The home side went ahead early in the first half through Lucas Paqueta's driven finish. The Brazil midfielder scored after just three minutes when Forest defender Nicolas Dominguez gave the ball away and it bounced perfectly for Paqueta to power into the bottom corner. Taiwo Awoniyi equalised just before the break, following up from close range after Morgan Gibbs-White's initial shot was parried into his path by goalkeeper Alphonse Areola. Forest were in front for the first time in the contest when Ola Aina's cutback into the box was pounced on by Anthony Elanga, who fired into the bottom corner, but Bowen equalised for the Hammers almost immediately before Soucek took the points. The result sees West Ham climb up to ninth in the table, while Forest remain in 15th. ichef.bbci.co.uk/ace/standard/240/cpsprodpb/06D6/production/_131705710_gettyimages-1789547101.jpg

West Ham 3-2 Nottingham Forest: What David Moyes said:i2-prod.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article31359476.ece/ALTERNATES/s1200d/0_West-Ham-United-v-Arsenal-EFL-Carabao-Cup-Fourth-Round-Football-London-Stadium-London-UK-01.jpgWest Ham boss David Moyes speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "I was thrilled with the opening couple of minutes and I was certainly thrilled when I heard the final whistle as well. In between it, there was a lot of good things, some not so good but in the Premier League you have to take your wins when you get them. Today was a good win. We had a 1-0 win here on Thursday night against Olympiakos and now a victory today. "It's really difficult to win Thursday, Sunday football in the Premier League with the level of opposition you've got to play on a Sunday. We've done that for two seasons now so I'd like to say we were getting good at it and getting used to it but it's the quality and sometimes that's why you're having to change your players but I just think the two day recovery is really tough on the players but today it didn't show. "We got stronger as the game went on after they made it 2-1, we probably got better in that period of the game, we made three of four big chances, we didn't quite get them but in the end we had a world class set-piece taker who probably got us out of trouble. On James Ward-Prowse's impact this season: "Huge would be an understatement but I think if I was James I would be disappointed that he hadn't had 15 or 16 assists by now because of the quality of the ball. Today we got on the end of a couple. In recent weeks we looked as if we dried up, I thought where were we getting our goals from corners from but today we did." On the international break: "I think all managers now quite enjoy the international break because it gives them a little bit of time but you really only enjoy it if you win. It's not easy to sit on defeats and there will be a lot of managers who feel that way every weekend, that's what happens."

West Ham defender Vladimir Coufal sent home from Czech Republic camp..
ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/10848/production/_131765676_gettyimages-1791642694.jpg Coufal joined West Ham from Slavia Prague in 2020West Ham defender Vladimir Coufal and two other players have been sent home from the Czech Republic camp. It follows reports Coufal, Jakub Brabec and Jan Kuchta were pictured in a nightclub prior to a home Euro 2024 qualifier against Moldova on Monday. The Czech Football Association said the players had "fundamentally violated the internal rules of the national team on Saturday night". It added: "They have left the national team camp with immediate effect." The Czech Republic will qualify for Euro 2024, to be hosted by Germany, if they avoid defeat to Moldova in their final qualifying match. Coufal, 31, joined West Ham from Slavia Prague in October 2020 and has made 101 Premier League appearances.

Here are some of your comments:
Simon: There's one thing I'd have changed this season - and that's the manager. After winning the Europa Conference League, it felt the perfect time to part. I think the start of this season shows that David Moyes can't take us any further than he has. We have the squad to be higher up the league if utilised correctly. Dave: One thing I would definitely change is the so-called fans who call for the manager's head every time we lose a game. Moyes is doing a great job but it's not enough for some. Terry: I just wished we had brought a recognised striker in when we had the chance. Now we are seeing the effects of not having one, Moyes is chopping and changing the front line around hoping he will fall upon a magic formula when all he had to do is fill one position. Fingers crossed for January. Paul: I’m sure I’m not alone with my opinion. Basically, our hesitancy in the transfer market. We have definitely lost out on some prime signings, especially for a top striker, which is so desperately needed before we burn out Bowen. So frustrating!

Antonio set to be out for two to three weeks..Simon Stone, BBC Sportichef.bbci.co.uk/news/800/cpsprodpb/bdcc/live/e6d9c970-8922-11ee-b9d5-c7b00852a684.jpgAfter initial fears West Ham United forward Michail Antonio could be missing for an extended period after getting injured during the first leg of Jamaica's Nations League encounter with Canada, the damage might not turn out to be too bad. The whispers are Antonio will only be missing for two or three weeks. That would still rule him out of key Premier League and Europa League matches, but could make him available for the packed programme around Christmas, which includes a Carabao Cup quarter-final at Liverpool.

SATURDAY 25th NOVEMBER 2023 - PREMIER LEAGUE
Burnley 1 West Ham United 2 (O'Shea 86 og, Soucek 90+1)
ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/6F4B/production/_131819482_c575dfc5a19f9f75683ad777cddf9e9f00a47de2.jpg Tomas Soucek also scored the winning goal in West Ham's previous game against Nottingham ForestBurnley suffered a shattering home defeat by West Ham as Vincent Kompany's side conceded two late goals to remain bottom of the Premier League. The home side looked to be on course for a crucial victory thanks to Jay Rodriguez's penalty at the start of the second half. But they were unable to double their advantage and West Ham made them pay in the closing stages. Teenage substitute Divin Mubama pressurised Dara O'Shea into turning the ball into his own net in the 86th minute, before Tomas Soucek scored from Mohammed Kudus' deep cross in stoppage time to complete the turnaround. It was a devastating result for Burnley and their watching chairman Alan Pace. They have now lost seven straight home games - failing to pick up a single point despite scoring first in three of those matches. This particular loss will hurt badly. Kompany's side edged a drab first half as West Ham lacked a cutting edge without injured attacking duo Jarrod Bowen and Michail Antonio. And the Clarets deservedly took the lead four minutes after the break. Kudus clipped dangerman Luca Koleosho as he surged into the box and Rodriguez kept his nerve from the spot to drive home his first top-flight goal since April 2022. But with Alphonse Areola repelling Zeki Amdouni's powerful drive and O'Shea heading over from the ensuing corner, the hosts left the door open for West Ham - and David Moyes' side took full advantage. ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/159AB/production/_131819488_98060dd0625209866236f8f88997b1d142abbe98.jpgDivin Mubama thought he had scored his first league goal for West Ham but it was ruled a Dara O'Shea own goal

ichef.bbci.co.uk/news/800/cpsprodpb/ca9d/live/6590a790-83cc-11ee-82d0-c92f0cf2b2e0.jpgWe asked for your thoughts on Sunday's match between West Ham United and Crystal Palace.
Here are some of your comments:
West Ham fansLiam: David Moyes yet again proving why he cannot take this talented team forward. Lucas Paqueta and Jarrod Bowen are shunted out of position to accommodate James Ward-Prowse (what does he do beyond set pieces?) and Tomas Soucek. Dull football, bring on May. Michael: Dreadful waste of two points. West Ham always need a second goal because we can’t see out a 1-0, unless we score in the 89th minute. Moyes can’t complain. Paqueta wasted almost every ball, Edson Alvarez was very poor, every pass is square, and Bowen didn’t look fit. However Mohammed Kudus was magnificent! Eddie: Absolute dross again. So frustrating to see the team sitting back and not forcing the play. It is my 70th year supporting the Hammers and I just want to be entertained. What would an adventurous manager do with this squad? Matt: It’s not a good sign that the most accurate description of West Ham is 'boring'. There is nothing to get excited about currently as a fan. We should've kicked on from the Europa Conference but Moyes has got the team playing the least attractive football in the league. Thanks for the cup, but it is time for Moyes to move on.

i2-prod.belfastlive.co.uk/incoming/article27796694.ece/ALTERNATES/s1200e/3515_1.jpg Aodhan Doherty with Linfield chief scout Willie McKeownWest Ham United emerged as front runners to sign 17-year-old attacking prodigy Aodhan Doherty from Northern Irish side Linfield. According to Football Insider, West Ham United are leading the chase for Linfield youngster Aodhan Doherty. The 17-year-old attacking prodigy has seen his rise in Northern Irish football and has high-profile suitors from the Premier League, including the Hammers. The report also names Everton and Brighton among those keen on signing the winger ahead of the January window. With Aodhan Doherty already making his way into Linfield’s first team setup, he may look to play regularly and put any prospective move abroad on the back burner. However, it’s tough for young stars coming out of Northern Ireland to have the opportunity such as a move ti England and turn it down. Linfield will also recognise that and allow the teenager to make his dream move away from the club if the conditions are right. West Ham are also interested; as things stand, they are the front runners in the chase, as per the report. The Hammers continually look at young talents from elsewhere to shore up their youth ranks but might consider Doherty as someone on the periphery of breaking through to the first-team setup. More Premier League sides are open to including young talents and helping them rise. For instance, Brighton have developed their reputation as the torchbearers of bringing up young talents, and hence their presence in this race for the 17-year-old attacking prodigy does not come as a surprise. West Ham are also looking at other players, with Irish talent Eiran Cashin one of their targets. A host of players from Northern Ireland and Ireland have come through the ranks, with Sam Curtis earning plenty of interest from Liverpool and Manchester United. The Hammers are equally looking at Doherty to come in and challenge for a place in David Moyes’ first team setup. The 17-year-old attacking prodigy only signed a professional contract until 2026 with Linfield, which could benefit the Northern Irish side to get fair compensation from his sale if all West Ham come through with an offer. i2-prod.belfastlive.co.uk/incoming/article27796731.ece/ALTERNATES/s810/0_season-5-3pngDavid-Heal.pngLinfield boss David Healy and (inset) teenage forward Aodhan Doherty

THURSDAY 7th DECEMBER 2023 - PREMIER LEAGUE
Tottenham Hotspur 1 (Romero 11) West Ham United 2 (Bowen 52, Ward-Prowse 74)
ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/5B9F/production/_131955432_gettyimages-1831281871.jpg Jarrod Bowen is West Ham's top scorer with nine goals across all competitions this seasonWest Ham United manager David Moyes called his side's comeback at Tottenham "one of the biggest wins I've had in football" as they continued their fine run of form. Cristian Romero's early header had given Spurs a deserved opener in the 11th minute as the defender nodded in Pedro Porro's corner with a looping effort. But Jarrod Bowen hit back for the Hammers, latching on to a loose ball in the penalty area and firing in a 52nd-minute equaliser. And, after a poor backpass from Spurs defender Destiny Udogie, James Ward-Prowse side-footed an effort against the post before knocking in the rebound to complete West Ham's turnaround in the 74th minute. "I think it is a huge win to come here and win against this side," Moyes told BBC Radio 5 Live. "I'm pleased with how we were resilient and diligent in our work, organised, defensively structured and we were always a threat as well." West Ham have won five of their past six fixtures across all competitions while Tottenham suffered their fourth defeat in five and have dropped points from a winning position for a fifth consecutive game. ichef.bbci.co.uk/ace/standard/240/cpsprodpb/159EB/production/_131955588_gettyimages-1831282349.jpgMatch Stats - Possession: 75% - 25% - Shots: 23-11 - On Target: 7-5 - Corners: 8-4 - Referee: Michael Salisbury

SUNDAY 10th DECEMBER 2023 - PREMIER LEAGUE
Fulham 5 West Ham United 0
ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/A9A3/production/_131972434_4882f57c2ea3eb2371c106c548e3f51bdc904d55.jpg Fulham have won three consecutive Premier League home games for the first time since 2012Raul Jimenez continued his return to form with another goal as Fulham thrashed lacklustre West Ham to record their second five-goal victory in five days at Craven Cottage. The Mexico forward, who sustained a life-threatening skull fracture three years ago, gave the hosts the lead when he headed in Joao Palhinha's cross for his fourth goal in five league games. Marco Silva's side were in total control by half-time after Willian added a second from Andreas Pereira's cut-back and Tosin Adarabioyo out-jumped Kurt Zouma at a corner to head in the hosts' third. Substitute Harry Wilson was denied by Lukasz Fabianski as a dominant Fulham pressed on - but the West Ham goalkeeper stood no chance of denying the Wales international when he curled a stunning left-footed shot into the top corner from the edge of the penalty area. ichef.bbci.co.uk/ace/standard/240/cpsprodpb/5B83/production/_131972432_gettyimages-1844915318.jpgCarlos Vinicius then sealed Fulham's second 5-0 win of the week, following Wednesday's demolition of Nottingham Forest, after Wilson unselfishly teed him up when through on goal. The thoroughly-deserved victory lifted Fulham into the top half of the table, three points behind ninth-placed West Ham who missed the chance to climb into the Premier League's top six. "It was a brilliant performance from us. The players understood the plan and executed it so well. It was almost a perfect afternoon for us," said Silva. "Confidence builds confidence and the best example of this is Raul [Jimenez]," the Fulham manager added. "We are not really different now, we changed and adjusted some things but the faith in our players was always there." West Ham manager David Moyes speaking to BBC Sport: "Probably the [comeback 2-1 win in the] Tottenham game played a big part in today. Mentally and physically we found it tough. "We got a good win at Tottenham. If you had given me two draws in the two away games at Tottenham and Fulham I would probably have taken it, so to get three points is not bad. "Today I think we were below it physically. It was just what we had. "Nevertheless, Fulham played well. It went from bad to worse. We'll pick ourselves up and go again on Thursday." On recovering in time for Thursday's final Europa League group game against Freiburg, Moyes added: "Let's see how the players come back. We'll give them a chance to recover, recharge their batteries and hopefully it will be a much better performance than we have seen today."

Thursday 14th December 2023 - Europa League - Group A - West Ham United v SC Freiburg - 8pm ichef.bbci.co.uk/live-experience/cps/1440/cpsprodpb/8916/production/_132049053_westhamlondonstadium.jpgichef.bbci.co.uk/live-experience/cps/624/cpsprodpb/vivo/live/images/2023/12/14/3c47bb37-dde4-4ea2-a885-d2da248e51c0.jpgWest Ham manager David Moyes says the Premier League will be "first and foremost" in his plans but cup competitions will be approached "as seriously as we possibly can" following their recent success in Europe. Moyes guided the Hammers to a Europa League semi-final in 2021-22 and they have already qualified for this season's knockout stage. The Hammers famously lifted the Europa Conference League trophy last season and are also through to the last eight of this season's Carabao Cup, with a quarter-final to come against Liverpool on 20 December. Asked about how hard it is to prepare for four games in nine days in three different competitions, starting with Thursday's Europa League group finale against Freiburg, Moyes said: "I don't really prioritise, I'm looking at the next game and taking one game at a time really. "I've always said that the Premier League will be first and foremost for me. It's the thing you have to focus on. But the cup competitions have become pretty special for us. We've been to a semi-final, we've won a final, so we're now seeing the cup competitions as something which we have try to take as seriously as we possibly can." Moyes continued: "It's getting harder because the level of the Europa League this year is incredible, the level and the quality of the teams in it, it's making it harder to chop and change as much as we've done in years gone by. With all of the competitions, it becomes difficult." ichef.bbci.co.uk/live-experience/cps/624/cpsprodpb/vivo/live/images/2023/12/14/fd980915-8ceb-455e-8173-e7f5f214ea6c.jpgJarrod Bowen has said securing top spot in their Europa League group is West Ham's primary objective when they face Freiburg on Thursday. The Hammers have already qualified for the knockout phase, and a win or draw will put them through as group winners. That would ensure David Moyes' side avoid an extra knockout tie against a team dropping down from the Champions League. The England forward said: "Since we've been in Europe, we've always wanted to top the group. It's two fewer games and it gets you straight into the round of 16, which is the real business end of it. We don't go into any game wanting to draw. Our mindset is to win the game and that's the message from our side. "It's all set up. It'll be a really good game, they're a really good side." Bowen scored the winner in the Hammers' Europa Conference League final victory over Fiorentina, which he says has created a "hunger" within him to win further trophies. He added: "That was a really special moment for the club and for me on a personal level, and it makes you want to keep bringing those moments to the fans. "It was the first trophy I've ever won and that hunger it puts inside you to give again for your team-mates and the fans as well - it's special for everyone. "We're still in Europe, we're still in the Carabao Cup latter stages and we've got the FA Cup. There are still lots of opportunities. Any trophy you win is a massive landmark for everyone. "We've got some exciting games coming up to really kick on."
