David Moyes on TNT Sports on Pablo Fornals possibly leaving the club: "I can't give you anymore, I've not spoken to the people upstairs. Everyone is fully aware things could be happening." On Said Benrahma pictured in France: "If he's out in France he's obviously having a medical. I could not tell you if it's been done or not neither. I've not had the news come in." West Ham manager David Moyes to BBC Match of the Day: "I'm glad we got the point in the end. We didn't perform well. Anyway, we got something out of it and we take that and we'll hopefully improve. "It was really good work from Mohammed Kudus to earn the penalty. And James [Ward-Prowse] has done well for us scoring a couple of goals. "We didn't play particularly well with the ball, we didn't pass it well as well." On transfer potential news: "I'm only just off the pitch, I'm not quite sure what's been done. We know the talk from Betis [around Pablo Fornals] and I think Said Benrahma is in France doing a medical. I couldn't tell you if that has been done tonight. "I think a few things have been quite last-minute. It's a pretty awkward day to have to answer questions on the transfer deadline. We're a country who like to do things late and there's a lot of late deals that look like they're happening today."

West Ham transfer news: Said Benrahma's move to Lyon collapses..
i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/02/02/00/80757155-13035759-image-a-40_1706832873983.jpg Said Benrahma 's move to Lyon has collapsed after West Ham failed to fill in the Transfer Matching System form correctly before the deadlineLyon have blamed West Ham for the collapse of a loan deal for Said Benrahma and accused the Hammers of "a profound lack of respect". The Algerian winger, 28, had been set to move on loan to the French side on transfer deadline day. But the Hammers confirmed in the early hours of Friday that a move was "unable to be completed before 11pm". Lyon subsequently accused the Premier League side of not taking the required action to complete the deal. In a strongly-worded statement, the Ligue 1 side criticised West Ham's "incomprehensible behaviour", adding: "Olympique Lyonnais deeply regrets this situation and this decision, demonstrating a profound lack of respect on the part of West Ham towards the institution and the player." Lyon, who are owned by Crystal Palace co-owner John Textor's Eagle Football Holdings, said they also "reserve the right to undertake all appropriate procedures necessary to validate the transaction at a later date, and to hold West Ham responsible if necessary". Benrahma joined West Ham from Brentford in October 2020 and his current deal runs to 2026. He started last season's Europa Conference League final against Fiorentina and scored the opening goal from the penalty spot in West Ham's momentous 2-1 win. However, the attacker has failed to find the net in 22 appearances this season and was sent off in the FA Cup replay defeat at Bristol City on 16 January. Benrahma was controversially left out of Algeria's squad for the Africa Cup of Nations tournament. Meanwhile, West Ham had yet to confirm Pablo Fornals' £6.8m move to La Liga side Real Betis by the time the transfer window closed at 23:00 GMT on Friday. Fornals, 27, has made 202 appearances at West Ham since his arrival from Villarreal in 2019. But the midfielder has struggled to gain a regular starting spot this season following the arrivals of Mohammed Kudus and James Ward-Prowse in the summer. Fornals has only started four Premier League games for David Moyes' side in 2023-24. Although West Ham triggered a one-year option on Fornals' contract in December, it was always likely they would let him leave if the right bid was received.

Said Benrahma: West Ham confirm winger has joined Lyon on loan..By Simon Stone, BBC Sport.
ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/181D5/production/_132537789_westham.jpg Said Benrahma has failed to score in 22 appearances for West Ham this seasonWest Ham have confirmed Algerian winger Said Benrahma has joined Lyon on loan for the remainder of the season. The deal includes an option for Lyon to make the deal permanent in the summer. West Ham's announcement brings to an end a bizarre 18 hours after the deal was not completed by the transfer deadline. Lyon accused West Ham of 'incomprehensible' behaviour and vowed to take their case to world governing body Fifa. The Hammers have refused to respond to the allegations, but officials at the club are known to be furious at what are viewed as inaccurate and potentially damaging claims. Given Fifa has now confirmed the deal, it is felt Lyon's statement was without foundation. In a statement, West Ham said everyone at the club "would like to wish Said the best as he joins Lyon". Benrahma, 28, joined the Hammers from Brentford initially on loan in October 2020 before making the move permanent three months later, and his current deal runs to 2026. He scored the opening goal in West Ham's 2-1 win against Fiorentina in the Europa Conference League final last year - their first trophy in 43 years - but has failed to find the net this season. Benrahma was sent off in the club's 1-0 FA Cup third-round replay defeat at Bristol City in January, and also controversially left out of Algeria's squad for the Africa Cup of Nations. Following the initial collapse of the move, French side Lyon said they reserve the right to "hold West Ham responsible if necessary". In response to the confusing events, Hammers boss David Moyes said it had appeared last-minute issues with paperwork had derailed the deal. "But I only learned about it when I came off the pitch late last night [after the game with Bournemouth]," he added.

Pablo Fornals completes move from West Ham to Real Betis..
ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/BC23/production/_132536184_pablofornals.jpg Pablo Fornals, right, moved to West Ham in June 2019Pablo Fornals has completed a £6.8m move from West Ham to Spanish side Real Betis. The deal for the midfielder, 27, was set to go through on transfer deadline day but was delayed after a "computer problem" on the Hammers' side. The switch has now been completed, ending the Spain international's four-and-a-half-year stay at the Hammers. "Everyone at West Ham would like to thank Pablo for everything he has given to the club," West Ham said. Fornals made 202 appearances at West Ham after joining from Villarreal in 2019. He has struggled to gain a regular spot this season following the arrivals of Mohammed Kudus and James Ward-Prowse in the summer, starting only four Premier League games in 2023-24. Manchester United v West Ham United - 2pm

TEAM NEWSManchester United manager Erik ten Hag says Lisandro Martinez was taken off against Wolves as a precaution and will be fit. Sofyan Amrabat is back from the Africa Cup of Nations and Victor Lindelof should be available, but Mason Mount is out and Aaron Wan-Bissaka is a doubt. West Ham remain without Lucas Paqueta and Michail Antonio due to injury. Defender Nayef Aguerd could feature following Morocco's exit from the Africa Cup of Nations. Match Facts - Head-to-head:Manchester United are unbeaten in their last 15 home league games against West Ham. The Hammers have only won nine of the 55 Premier League meetings, but two of those victories have come in their last two meetings. West Ham are looking to complete their first league double over the Red Devils since 2006-07. West Ham UnitedWest Ham are vying to go seven league matches without defeat for the first time since September 2021. However, they could remain winless in their opening six league and cup games of a calendar year for first time since 1999. They have drawn three successive league fixtures for the first time since April 2017. The Hammers have earned 17 points from 11 away league games so far this campaign, which is already five more than they earned on the road in the whole of last season. David Moyes takes charge of his 34th Premier League match against Manchester United, equalling the number of top-flight games he had as manager of the Red Devils. Moyes' only win in 19 attempts away to Manchester United as a manager came in the League Cup in September 2021. The last Hammers player to score more than Jarrod Bowen's seven top-flight away goals this season was Mike Small, with nine, in 1991-92.

David Moyes is confident that his contract situation at West Ham will be resolved soon and he insists they are 'well down the line' in talks with his current deal to expire in the summer.i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/02/03/00/80798851-13040141-image-a-3_1706920964961.jpgHammers boss Moyes, who has led the club to sixth in the Premier League and into the last 16 of the Europa League this season, will be out of contract in the summer. But he said: 'We'll get back on it now the transfer window is shut. We're well down the line and moving on with it. 'When I came I said to the players I don't want to be at a club that's in relegation trouble, that is not the plan. 'Most of the time we've been away from that, at a different level. I'm trying to make West Ham as strong as I possibly can. 'We're doing a lot of good things, sometimes we'll not do the right thing but we'll always try to do the best thing.'

Here are some of your comments
West Ham fans
Ken: I know Manchester United haven't been playing well, they weren't playing together and really didn't impress. However, they made the Hammers look like an inexperienced, second-rate Championship side. The Hammers were either woeful or lacking any cutting edge. I also feel that to date, Kalvin Phillips has been a real disappointment. Brian: I think that has to be one of our most entertaining games of the season. Surely we cannot be talking of selling Aguerd - he is our best centre-half. We had at least two good chances which fell to the wrong player in Emerson. Johnson is a better player when he has a little freedom and isn't shackled to the wing - and Phillips is having a nightmare. George: The team played well and at high speed in the first half - best I have seen from them for a long time. All we need now is for Bowen to go back on the wing and Soucek to play centre-forward, allowing us to win our fair share of the headers from the long balls from the back and mid play.

West Ham 0-6 Arsenal: What David Moyes said:West Ham United boss David Moyes speaking to Sky Sports after the heavy defeat: "Yes, it certainly is [up there as one of the most disappointing days as West Ham manager]. It's one of those days which you don't want to happen very often, and it happened today. "It's not been like my teams in the past. I'll take a bit of time and look at it and see if I can fix it. I take the responsibility, I pick the team, but the players have to take responsibility [as well]. "It's really important that we do those jobs really well. We will always try to be as well organised as we can be. Arsenal were very good, we must not take that away [from them], but we weren't good. On some of the fans leaving the ground at half-time: "Yes, I'm a football supporter so I understand that. I don't think the direction the club is heading in is the wrong direction. It's grown greatly since we came in. We were fighting relegation, we're not fighting relegation today. "We were playing one of the top teams in the country, who we took three points off earlier in the season, so I have to say the club is in a really good place. "We have had our setbacks through the season and we will try and come back from this one the best we can."

Here are some of your comments:
West Ham fans
Paul: Let's just say, it was expected. Now perhaps the board will finally make the right decision and replace an ailing manager, whose tactics are old fashioned and easy to read. If they are going to rely on soaking up the punishment to break and score, then they need a defence capable of doing just that. I'm afraid the buck stops here. Changes must come. Tim: Everything you need to know about West Ham's tactics, gameplan and management philosophy can be encapsulated in the 30 minutes either side of half-time. Poor with and without the ball and lacking leadership on and off the park. On the plus side, we have avoided relegation this season. Next year I'm not so sure about, unless there are significant changes. Gibbo: Unacceptable and humiliating. We were passive and let Arsenal do whatever they wanted. No leadership, poor defending and no will to go forward. We gave the ball away far too cheaply and appeared to give up after the first goal. The players should shoulder the responsibility and Mr Moyes, you need to learn to adapt and occasionally play on the front foot. Barney: This type of thrashing has been on the cards all season. Moyes has had his day and needs to go now. The football West Ham are playing is painful to watch, even when we win. A younger man with fresh ideas is needed. upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/c/c2/West_Ham_United_FC_logo.svg/263px-West_Ham_United_FC_logo.svg.png

'Response to latest humiliation could define West Ham's season'..Nat Hayward, BBC Sport journalist.ichef.bbci.co.uk/news/800/cpsprodpb/8efe/live/fdbe1b80-c9a7-11ee-88f4-6981a71d536a.jpgAfter losing 5-0 to Fulham at Craven Cottage in December, West Ham manager David Moyes said there was "no excuse" for the result. The response was emphatic. The Hammers won four out of their next five games - beating Bundesliga side Freiburg 2-0 in the Europa League, dismantling Wolves 3-0 and recording impressive 2-0 wins at home to Manchester United and away at Arsenal. The outlier was another five goals shipped at Anfield, as they lost 5-1 in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals. In those five matches, Jarrod Bowen contributed directly to five goals - scoring three himself and assisting two more - while playing a key role in getting Moyes' side back on track. Now, after the 6-0 debacle in the reverse fixture at home to Arsenal on Sunday, West Ham desperately need a response from the team, and in particularly their main man, once more. Since that win at Emirates Stadium, Bowen has not scored or assisted in any of the five games he has played in - culminating in Sunday's effective no-show. West Ham have not won any of these games. The correlation between his output and the team's struggles is clear, and only exacerbated without the creative influence of the injured Lucas Paqueta or the threat of Mohammed Kudus who has struggled to get up speed since his return from the Africa Cup of Nations three matches ago. The sight of fans streaming out of the London Stadium before half-time in what became the Hammers' heaviest home Premier League defeat and joint-heaviest of all time will worry Moyes, who remains under fire from big sections of the fanbase. The boss has to see the next four Premier League games, all against sides currently in the bottom seven, as an opportunity to kickstart a season threatening to fade away. Three of these come before the Hammers continue their Europa League campaign at the last-16 stage. The response to this latest humiliation could define West Ham's season.

'No words could rectify it' - Ward-Prowse..ichef.bbci.co.uk/news/800/cpsprodpb/d11b/live/ddf95780-c9a0-11ee-921d-adc1b0df31d6.jpgWest Ham midfielder James Ward-Prowse said "no words could rectify the performance" offered by the Hammers in their 6-0 home defeat by Arsenal. Ward-Prowse told West Ham's club media: "We can all accept losing a game, that happens in football, but I think the way you lose is important and the most disappointing thing is the way we lost the game. "I don't feel like we competed anywhere near the level you need to in the Premier League. "They're a top team who are challenging for the title, but I think they showed us the level and the detail that you need to win games." The former Southampton captain added: "I can stand here and give a message and try to say something, but I've been a football fan myself and no words could rectify the performance. "I think it's all about showing, competing, and giving a bit more than what we did. I can stand here and say something, but I know as a fan you want to see something on the pitch."

'We should be challenging for the Champions League'..
Harry Morris, of the West Ham Way podcast, believes David Moyes will only be offered a new contract to continue as manager if they win the Europa League or finish in the top six.
He told Football Daily that despite the club sitting eighth in the Premier League and into the last 16 of the Europa League, West Ham fans were unhappy with Moyes' brand of football.
"The fans want to be entertained and we’re not," said Morris, adding that the Hammers' 6-0 defeat at home to Arsenal on Sunday was synonymous with recent performances.
"The results don’t matter for West Ham fans, it is about the football. It’s the West Ham way.
"I think we’ve got a better squad than Aston Villa and Tottenham and personally I think we should be finishing above them."
He added: "I think we’re a sleeping giant in London, personally. We should be shooting for the stars and challenging for the Champions League. We’ve probably got a similar squad to Newcastle and they did it last year so why shouldn’t we aim for that?"

'West Ham fans would ask for David Moyes back if he leaves'..ichef.bbci.co.uk/news/800/cpsprodpb/vivo/live/images/2024/2/13/e11d64e8-74d0-44ff-a795-58836185012c.jpgChris Sutton told the Monday Night Club on BBC Radio 5 Live that David Moyes should feel under-appreciated, following calls by some West Ham fans for him to be replaced as manager. He added that Moyes should not be judged solely on Sunday's 6-0 loss to Arsenal. "It was bad but are we going to judge West Ham on that? Come on," said Sutton. "You can’t judge him on this one particular game. Defenders were switching off at set pieces and they were miles off but it is unfair, I truly believe that. "David Moyes should walk away at the end of the season and let the West Ham fans get what they want, let them get some fancy manager in who plays an attacking brand of football and then they’ll get into a relegation battle and then what will they do? Ask for David Moyes back. "David Moyes must feel under appreciated. He’s worked really hard in the past few seasons to get West Ham into that position and I could understand the argument if they were 16th or 17th but they are not."

Analysis: Nottingham Forest 2-0 West Ham..by Charlotte Coates, BBC Sport journalist.ichef.bbci.co.uk/news/800/cpsprodpb/07a7/live/ea779bf0-cdc6-11ee-8291-411191a1fadc.jpgWest Ham are the European Conference League holders and one point adrift of a European spot in the Premier League, but the pressure has never been more intense for David Moyes. A humiliating 6-0 defeat at home to Arsenal last Sunday had fans and pundits questioning how Moyes would survive. Travelling to the City Ground, West Ham would have seen an opportunity to put that humbling loss behind them but it was a terribly tame attempt at beating Nottingham Forest. The hosts, who had lost six of their last seven matches on home soil, created chances from the off as the Hammers failed to produce an effort that had Matz Sels scrambling. When Callum Hudson-Odoi’s goal hit the back of the net in stoppage time, a ‘Moyes Out’ banner was erected in the away end as the travelling fans made their feelings known. West Ham have lost their last three games and have failed to score in each of them. With Brentford at the London Stadium up next, three points and a much-improved performance are almost vital. ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/CEAB/production/_132670925_david_moyes_reuters4.pngNottingham Forest 2-0 West Ham: What David Moyes said:
David Moyes speaking to BBC Match of the Day after West Ham's loss to Nottingham Forest: "I thought the players responded incredibly well, they showed character, a lot of courage at different times of the game. It was a tight Premier League game. We played well going through the thirds and it was in the final third where we struggled and made poor decisions in poor opportunities to score goals. The players did a great job." On Kalvin Phillips' red card, Moyes added: "They've told me it's a bit tight, the two boots come together. Might be a wee bit of overreaction ont he second yellow. If you push someone then you can be booked. The rules are you're not supposed to stand in the way of the ball and we were trying to play quickly. In truth, I can't say too much because it was two yellows and we can't argue with that. "I thought he played much better, his whole performance was much better. Suddenly the bookings came from nowhere in a short period. The team had done some good things as well and he was part of it." On failing to score in the last three games: "We're missing a really important player in Lucas Paqueta but we don't want to hang it all on him. We've not looked as potent in recent weeks as we otherwise have done. We had to change things up to get through January but the last three games have been disappointed that we've not scored more goals." On the 'Moyes out' banners in the away end: "I'm really disappointed that we didn't win today and I'm really disappointed with a couple of results. But you mustn't forget the good results, you mustn't forget the wins even this season. We're sitting in a strong position, last season we were sitting near the bottom. It was only three years ago that we were Nottingham Forest and fighting relegation. We've moved on a long way from there."

The Hammers have put former Wolves manager Julen Lopetegui, ex-Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper and former Chelsea manager Graham Potter on a list of potential successors to David Moyes, whose position is under threat. Meanwhile, West Ham, Crystal Palace and Southampton are considering a move for Sunderland's 23-year-old forward Jack Clarke, who is valued at £20m.

West Ham fans
Andrew: Abject. Game lost before it started. Playing a lacklustre, mediocre Championship-status centre-forward and no depth in squad, alongside a rusty loanee. We need a creative midfielder but with Paqueta out and having sold both Lanzini and Benrahma there’s no change to a vapid side or selection. Substitutions made 20 minutes too late. Barry: Luckily we had a decent start to the season, otherwise we would be looking at relegation. We got what most fans expected out of this game - nothing. Ref was poor but not as bad as the Hammers. Paqueta getting injured and the awful transfer window has ended our season. No new contract for Moyes. Roll on May and get this season over with. Nilesh: I think this run was on the cards and entirely predictable as we had ridden our luck in a lot of games this season and needed moments of brilliance from individuals to get us results. However, by and large, we've never had it better as West Ham fans and Moyes deserves backing - at least until the end of the season.

David Moyes: West Ham boss says he has been offered new contract but will wait to decide future..i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/02/23/15/81632821-13118305-image-a-18_1708700875946.jpgDavid Moyes says he has been offered a new deal to stay as West Ham boss - but will wait until the end of the season to make a decision on his future. The Hammers' current eight-match winless run has seen Moyes come under pressure from some supporters. "I've had really good conversations with the owners, with David Sullivan and Karren Brady," he said. "There's a contract there for me and I'm the one deciding I want to wait until the end of the season." A "Moyes Out" banner could be seen in the away end last weekend as West Ham fell to a 2-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest, which followed a 6-0 home loss to Arsenal a week earlier. West Ham won the Europa Conference League last season, their first major trophy for 43 years. They have also finished sixth and seventh in the Premier League under Moyes, and reached the Europa League semi-finals in 2022. But the Hammers, currently ninth in the league, are without a win since beating title hopefuls Arsenal in December. Moyes managed West Ham from November 2017 to May 2018 and then returned to the club in December 2019. "There are plenty of reasons [to wait]. I've got to make sure it's the right thing for the club, for me and my family," said the 60-year-old. "I've spoken to the board. I've had a fabulous four years. We'll sort it out but I'm happy to wait." The Hammers, have been drawn against German club Freiburg in the last 16 of the Europa League, will aim to end their winless run when they host Brentford on Monday 8pm. Moyes' side could be boosted by the return of Brazilian playmaker Lucas Paqueta, who is back in training after a knee injury and "in contention" to face the Bees.
