Let's hope Luton stay up and Lockyer gets another permit job in football. They've given it a great shot regardless.

Tommy Locks update... www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c51nqjy8jq1oTom Lockyer says he is “at peace” with the prospect of not playing football again, but insists he has not ruled out a return to the pitch. He has now been fitted with an in-built defibrillator and even if he is not able to return to playing, he is keen to stay working in football. “So I'm getting my coaching badges done. I’ve done a bit of punditry work as well, which I really like, so the options are there for me. “Obviously I'm not looking to do any of them full-time at the minute. I am going to try and focus on getting back on the pitch, but should that not be the case, then I'm sure something else will have my name on it.”

Appeared on this morning's BBC Breakfast programme, in an item about footballers being given CPR on the pitch. With Charlie Wyke and Fabrice Muamba. Looked in good health.

Bristol Rovers legend Tom Lockyer returns to indivdual training with Luton after cardiac arrest..By Daniel Hargraves
Tom Lockyer hasn't played football since suffering a cardiac arrest during Luton Town's match at Bournemouth in Decemberi2-prod.bristolpost.co.uk/incoming/article9480471.ece/ALTERNATES/s810/0_GettyImages-839558704-1.jpgBristol Rovers legend Tom Lockyer has returned to individual training with Luton Town after the centre-back suffered a cardiac arrest in the Hatters' Premier League game at Bournemouth in December. The 29-year-old's heart stopped beating while on the pitch at the Vitality Stadium last season which saw the Luton captain taken off with the match subsequently abandoned. Lockyer then was rushed to hospital where he stayed for five days before being discharged. Since, the former Gas skipper has conducted a number of media duties including being a pundit for Sky Sports for Luton's home game against Manchester United during which the Welshman claimed that he "literally died." He also revealed that he had an ICD (Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator) device successfully fitted to prevent a similar incident occurring again. In an official club statement, Luton said: "We are so pleased to be able to inform our supporters and everyone around the world who has sent him their support that our captain, Tom Lockyer, has today returned to The Brache to start the next phase of his rehabilitation. "Tom has been under the guidance and care of leading consultants in London and Amsterdam, where he has been completing the most recent phase of his rehabilitation at a specialist clinic. "For now, Tom will work individually back at The Brache, but his very presence around the training ground will be welcomed by all of his team-mates, manager Rob Edwards and the coaching staff. "Whilst continuing his rehab, Tom will continue his work with the British Heart Foundation in spreading the importance of knowing CPR and how to use a defibrillator, and he will now be focussing fully on his next stage of the rehabilitation. "We ask that he is allowed to do this at his own pace, in private, to ultimately give himself the best chance of completing the next phases of his rehabilitation program." Lockyer was a firm fan favourite during his seven-year spell with Rovers, making just shy of 300 appearances for the Gas between 2012 and 2019 and was part of Clarke's infamous side that secured back-to-back promotions from the Conference to League One before helping the club establish itself in the third tier.
