I suspect they'll do what happens already in the children's play areas I've witnessed, just stand the other side of the fence, not really further away. I'm a non smoker too, I've lost close family to smoking related illnesses and nearly lost a few others. Anything that moves smoke and vapes further away from my family, the better. There is no need to ban, but I'd support further distancing. Banning tobacco would be counter productive. Pricing, education and no advertising is the way. Including vapes These Vapes seem like a different beast tho...People who use them some how class themselves as none smoker's...which I find odd.🥴 I fine someone using them far more annoying then a traditional smoker. In fact, yesterday my friend asked me to buy him a packed of fags from Tescos while I was there.Benson and hedges, the were £14 for twenty..and I saw people vaping in the store. I remember around 2012 buying fags for my ex Girlfriend's mum also, and they were only £5/£6 at the time.

For all the thoughts behind the pictures being a deterrent, what they should do is have prints of £10 notes on the actual cigarette paper.

Was in a queue of traffic several days ago, I had to check if I wasn't on an old steam railway line...the amount of ' vape smoke/ steam ' coming from some car windows was incredible, certainly wouldn't like to have been in any of those vehicles

I can understand people using vapes to stop smoking tobacco but I dont understand anyone taking up vaping who has never smoked, maybe they see it a safer option ? I would support a total ban on tobacco, tell anyone caught selling it on the black market that they will get a £10,000 fine and their shop shut for 6 months for a first offence and watch the habit die overnight. I am sure that most people dying of smoking related issues wish that they had never started smoking, secondary smoking is an issue and smokers take up hospital beds and costs the NHS billions. Would people who support smokers 'rights' like to see the regulations on the use of asbestos dropped ?...after all it should be a 'right' to die of asbestosis.
Surely its a governments duty to protect the public ? all harmful substances should be banned where possible, asbestos, heroin, tobacco, alcohol, junk foods with excessive fat / sugar are all unnecessary and the public would be healthier if they were banned....

It is becoming very trendy amongst younger people especially at high school to vape. My grandson is 12 and has been offered vapes by kids of 14 to 16. Luckily enough he hates the idea of smoking or vaping but it is a serious concern to his mum.

Labour to ban junk food advertising...the least they could possibly do whilst getting headlines for it. About time a proper investigation into the nations health was done including finding out much time and money the NHS has to spend on smoking/alcohol/drugs/obesity,all of which are unnecessary. People getting junk food delivered to their doorstep by deliveroo etc,the fatties cant even burn calories going to the chip shop now,so expensive too,but they cant be arsed to cook a cheaper meal with vegetables (which are cheap) living on junk food is an expensive and health damaging lifestyle choice....cheaper to eat healthy and join a gym, my weekly gym memberships (for 2 gyms) is less than cod and chips once a week.
How about copying other countries and banning the sale of alcoholic drinks over 2% or 3% from being sold in supermarkets, stronger drinks would be sold from government run 'alcohol shops' and ID would have to be produced to buy booze ? the incovenience would probably stop some people from drinking so much.
The Simpsons was funny but there seem to be part of our society that think that being a couch potato, eating junk food like Homer is a good idea,boozing/smoking and taking drugs are optional extras.

Radio 4 today, talking about obesity (again) and the possibility of peoples Tesco cards being used to monitor what food you buy so that they can tell you if you are consuming too much junk food or too much salt.
I dont know why they dont introduce taxes on sugar, junk food etc, increase the taxes on alcohol like they did with tobacco, maybe make smokers, boozers and fatties pay a higher rate of national insurance ?
Get MPs to set an example, suspend overweight unfit MPs until they get themselves sorted out.

In fairness, a lot of people being treated for heart issues are significantly overweight so a tax on sugar, junk food, takeaways, etc might not be a bad idea to be honest. As long as it is used on the NHS and not MPs expenses!

As long as it is used on the NHS and not MPs expenses! I would like to see the tax on tobacco and alcohol go to the NHS too but it doesnt work like that the same as road tax doesnt go to the roads. Need better labelling to tell you how much salt, sugar etc is in an item of food, now some is per 100g,some the whole item, some per fillet/biscuit whatever, they should standardise on 100G and then you know where you are.. With sugar I dont think that most people realise how much is in booze, some people dont want a 'nanny' state I dont either but the NHS must be under a lot of pressure because of fatties, smokers and boozers which are all unecessary. I remember years ago having to go for a medical before I was given a job,I think that was a good idea no doubt that wouldnt be allowed now as it would discriminate against fatties, smokers, drinkers and drug users.

I wouldnt have voted for the fat slob anyway but finding out how corrupt he was and then finding out about his paedo activities (which were known about but covered up by the Liberals leadership) must have been a shock for people in Rochdale...what is it about Rochdale ?

I know that FGR get some stick for only serving veggie food but when I see some of the fatties who follow Rovers I wonder if the club should ban junk food (and alcohol) from being sold at the stadium and serve healthy food and drink instead. I know that it wont happen because the club just want the supporters money and couldnt give a toss about peoples health but it would be good to see someone somewhere setting an example, maybe they could stop selling the replica shirts in any size over large to encourage people to stop slobbing out.

I love that you use the word fatties, randomly on here. 😂 And I agree with selling food. I'm 5,8 ..42 years old and just over 16 stone. I did weights for 10 years, I was a small body builder size and 16 stone and 8 % body fat, ripped. It was my dream body. I've done the Bristol half marathon four times, best time 1:20mins.I was a tremendous runner in 2010. Now post my Covid experience, I'm 16 plus stone but a fatty😂 still lots of muscle, but body fat is 15-20% now. I eat pretty clean, but meds for long Covid contains Steroids, so holds water. I've had a bad back in this past month,ok currently ..but been bad so it stopped me going to the gym.. I want to get as close as I can to 14 stone by Christmas and returning to gym this week.👍

I do half an hour of stretching exercises every morning and at least 2 pilates classes a week sometimes 3, I also do a 40 minute cardio workout before each pilates class to warm up and on 2 other days I do an 1 hour 45 minute workout that I have made up which includes cardio, stretching, weights and core work plus I am out with the dogs 2 to 3 hours every day...good job that I am economically inactive as theres no time left for work. I dont road run any more as I think that leads to joint problems (ankle, knees ,hips) and back problems, also I dont do heavy weights as virtually everyone i know who did weight training now has shoulder problems with their rotator cuffs. Weight....its calories taken in vs calories burnt off (as you know) the problem that i find is after a cardio session i am craving carbohydrates but at the moment i am doing ok...a 2 week illness over the winter will put me back 2 months though....

Vapes, i was talking to an alcoholic this morning (she has been sober for 20 plus years still goes to AA meetings several times a week, she had drug addiction too,so a very addictive personality) she is quite angry with herself for starting to use vapes earlier this year, she gave up smoking many years ago. She didnt realise how much nicotine was in the vapes that she uses,I noticed that she is using the stinking things more and more over the months,as she easily gets addicted she is puffing away like Thomas the tank engine when she is walking her dog,she says that she will give it up now that she has realised how harmful it is.

Sorry for late reply Trymer, thanks for nice message .I've been working me crazy hours, my apologies just got home, back in at 3pm until 1am. Can I ask you how old you are? I'm 43 in November. I'm starting the carnivore diet when I next get paid this week, as I'm budgeting like hell to buy a house/flat so giving myself £5 - £10 a day in order not to over spend. 😂 I've been told it is great for ligaments, and joints etc...Im going to do an online shop and try it for a month starting next week, well in 8 days time that is. Problem is, I eat balanced anyway, not much junk food at all, only vice is alcohol.2/4 times a week, between 2-5 cans post work.Too much I know, I can easily give it up, empty calories. I might give pilates a go, I've been wanting to try yoga.Have you ever heard of DDP yoga? It was created by an ex pro professional wrestler called DDP, and it's been a great success with many stories. I need a knee replacement due to a ligament damage I had when 16 playing football. That plus lots of running ( between 2005 - 2013, I was running up to 13 miles 4/5 times a week, so now my joints are hammered post Covid. I used to do HITT all the time at the gym, 1min full out, 1 min rest. Sometimes for 45-60 mins. I know I'm unlikely to be able to get back to that right now, but I was doing this only 3 years ago before I was hospitalized during the pandemic in December 2020. Im going to transfer my gym membership to a gym closer to where I work, plus maybe start swimming at Kingswood sports centre as it will be easier on the joints! I want to get down to ,11-12 stone ,but ripped. As I said, Im a bulky f**ker as I have alot of muscle still on me,it's just covered with fat! 😂 Thanks again..! 👍
