Can you believe it, this Ronaldo like 22 year old kid is English, in fact a Yorkshireman, true Geoff Boycott territory Leeds.
Youth
Haaland plays for Norway, and has represented them at various age groups. On 27 March 2018, while with the Norway under-19 side, Haaland scored a hat-trick against Scotland in a 5–4 victory, helping his country secure qualification to the 2018 UEFA European Under-19 Championship.
On 22 July 2018, Haaland scored a penalty against Italy in a 1–1 draw during the tournament finals. On 30 May 2019, Haaland scored nine goals in the Norway under-20 team's 12–0 win against Honduras at the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Lublin, Poland.
This was Norway's biggest ever win at U-20 level, as well as Honduras' heaviest ever defeat. Haaland also set a new U-20 World Cup record for most goals scored by a single player in a match, with the result additionally being the biggest win by any team in the history of the tournament.
Despite the Norwegians being eliminated in the group stage, and Haaland not scoring in any other matches at the tournament, he still won the Golden Boot as the competition's top scorer.
Senior
Haaland was named by manager Lars Lagerbäck to the Norway senior team squad on 28 August 2019, to face Malta and Sweden in UEFA Euro 2020 qualifying matches; he made his senior national team debut on 5 September 2019 against Malta.
On 4 September 2020, Haaland scored his first senior international goal for Norway in a 1–2 loss against Austria in the 2020–21 UEFA Nations League B. Three days later, he scored a brace in a 5–1 victory against Northern Ireland.
On 11 October, Haaland scored his first international hat-trick in Norway's 4–0 win over Romania in a Nations League B match, bringing his tally for the senior team to six goals in six matches played.
During the September 2021 international break, Haaland scored five goals in three World Cup qualification matches, including a second hat-trick for Norway in a 5–1 victory against Gibraltar.
Haaland idolises Zlatan Ibrahimović and Cristiano Ronaldo, but also cites Michu, Jamie Vardy, Sergio Agüero and Robin van Persie as inspirations, and credits Virgil van Dijk and Sergio Ramos as two of the toughest defenders he has played against.

Erling Haaland called 'ridiculous' and 'sublime' as he sets more scoring records.
Erling Haaland was called "ridiculous" and "sublime" as he obliterated the record for fastest player to score 15 Premier League goals in Saturday's 4-0 win over Southampton. Haaland has now scored 20 goals in 13 games for City in all competitions after his finish from Joao Cancelo's ball to finish the scoring at Etihad Stadium. In fact 'just' scoring once in his ninth English league appearance has knocked his goalscoring rate in the league down from 1.75 to 1.67. He became just the second City player after Sergio Aguero in 2019 to score in seven consecutive Premier League appearances. And remarkably the £51m summer signing from Borussia Dortmund has already equalled the tally of their top league scorer in the 2021-22 title-winning season - Kevin de Bruyne. Before this season Micky Quinn had the most goals in his first nine Premier League appearances with 11. The quickest player to reach 15 Premier League goals was Andy Cole, who needed 15 games to do so. Those records have been demolished. Former Scotland winger Pat Nevin, speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, said: "It is incredible, we often use phrases like that and it's hyperbole. "But it's not with Erling Haaland. He is quite ridiculous. "No-one can name anyone that is anything like him. His physicality, his ridiculous pace, eye for goal - it's extraordinary." Ex-City defender Micah Richards added: "His movement and the space he provides is just sublime. Going forward, I don't think City can improve right now." City boss Guardiola told BBC Sport: "He scored a brilliant goal. It's an incredible weapon for us, a big threat. I am so satisfied." Haaland has been directly involved in 42 goals in his last 24 appearances in home games for Dortmund and City (36 goals, six assists). Riyad Mahrez, who scored one of City's other goals, said: "Haaland is part of our team, he is our striker. Like any other striker, if we can find him it's perfect because he is on fire." ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/1227D/production/_126956347_gettyimages-1429636251.jpgichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/65A2/production/_126681062_gettyimages-1243012430.jpgichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/156EF/production/_127019778_2f89777e-7d35-4bbf-a1f1-bdc2507cfbda.jpg

Erling Haaland: Manchester City striker adds hat-trick feat to growing list of records.. ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/FEAD/production/_128379156_gettyimages-1458513112.jpgErling Haaland has more Premier League hat-tricks than Cristiano Ronaldo. He has the same number as Mohamed Salah. He is a third of the way towards Sergio Aguero's record tally of 12. Haaland has been in England's top flight for half a season. That's 19 league games in total. On Sunday, in Manchester City's comfortable 3-0 win over Wolves, the Norwegian struck his fourth treble, completing it in just 12 minutes either side of half-time. It took his tally of goals for the campaign to a stunning 31 in all competitions - 25 of them in the Premier League. Some records have already been broken, others beckon. In the aftermath of his latest goalscoring feat, BBC Sport celebrates the phenomenon that is Erling Braut Haaland. Treble top
As already stated, Haaland's quartet of hat-tricks have come from just 19 Premier League games. To show just how ludicrously quick that is, the next fastest person to reach the same number of Premier League trebles is Ruud van Nistelrooy, who scored his fourth in his 65th Manchester United league game. Here is how the City striker stacks up against the three others to make the list of fastest to four... ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/626D/production/_128379152_microsoftteams-image.pngAguero, who was Haaland's predecessor up front for City, scored 12 Premier League hat-tricks during his time in England. No player has managed more. Of the players currently active in England, Tottenham's Harry Kane has the most with eight. But the Argentine, who is City's all-time leading goalscorer with 184, played 275 Premier League games for the club. Alan Shearer, who has netted more Premier League goals than anyone with 260, scored 11 trebles. He is the only man to have scored more than Haaland in a single season, with five - that being the 1995-96 campaign in which he scored 31 times.

Erling Haaland: Man City striker eyes Dixie Dean's 95-year-old record - can he 'walk on water'?..ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/131EC/production/_128461387_haalanddixiedeanfinal.png'Phenomenon'. 'One-off'. 'Freak of nature'. You name it and Erling Haaland has probably been called it as his prolific debut season in English football continues to destroy Premier League goalscoring records. Any questions about how the Norway striker would fit in Manchester City's system this season were soon answered when he netted 14 goals in his first eight Premier League games, including back-to-back hat-tricks against Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest. With 25 goals in his first 19 league games, it seems a matter of when, not if, Haaland will break Andy Cole and Alan Shearer's Premier League record of 34 goals in one season. But what about pre-Premier League records? William Ralph Dean led Everton to the league title in 1927-28. Known as Dixie, Dean scored a barely believable 60 league goals, even though he missed three of the 42 matches that season. Many years after his famous season, Dean spoke about his record. "People ask me if that 60-goal record will ever be beaten," he said. "I think it will. But there's only one man who'll do it. That's that fella who walks on the water. I think he's about the only one." So can Haaland walk on water? 'Like Beethoven, Shakespeare and Rembrandt' Blackburn Rovers' Ted Harper scored a record 43 goals during the 1925-26 top-flight campaign, but his impressive mark stood for just two years before Dean blew it out of the water. Former Liverpool manager Bill Shankly recalled Dean as well as anyone, having played against him for Preston North End in the mid-1930s. "Dixie was the greatest centre-forward there will ever be," he said. "His record of goalscoring is the most amazing thing under the sun. He belongs in the company of the supremely great like Beethoven, Shakespeare and Rembrandt." So how good was Dean? It is difficult to compare across eras, however it is easier to compare Dean with his peers. Looking at the three years before and three years after Dean's record-breaking season, the First Division's leading scorer averaged 40 goals. Dean smashed that by 50%. The closest anyone has come to challenging Dean is Tom Waring's 49 for Aston Villa in 1930-31, but even he only reached 81% of Dean's total. Since then, even reaching 40 goals has been elusive, with Jimmy Greaves the last player to meet that mark more than 60 years ago. While physically Dean and Haaland are very different - Dean stood 5ft 10in, while Haaland is 6ft 5in - their scoring records have similarities. Comparing Dean's 1927-28 season with the current one for Haaland, both scored on the opening day, and both scored their 12th goal in their eighth game. Haaland went on to net two more in that match for a hat-trick in a 6-3 win against Manchester United, while Dean scored all five in a 5-2 win against the same opponents in his ninth game. Haaland has slowed slightly, at least compared with Dean, but his hat-trick against Wolves left him with 25 after 19 games, slightly behind Dean's 30 after the same number of appearances. One of the great unanswerable questions is how many Dean might have scored if he'd played all 42 games. One of the matches he missed, because of an England call-up, was a 7-0 romp against West Ham at Goodison Park. How many might he have added to his tally that day? Dean did break the previous record in March 1928, then went three games without a goal before accelerating his output with a massive 17 goals in his last eight games to reach 60. A hat-trick against Arsenal in his final match pushed him past George Camsell's Football League record of 59 which he had set in Division Two with Middlesbrough. It is a record that even Haaland looks like falling short of. ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/3094/production/_128463421_haaland-deaninfographic.jpgWhen will the Premier League record fall? Cole leads the current single-season Premier League-era scoring table with his 34 league goals in 40 games for Newcastle in 1994, before Shearer hit the same tally from two more games for Blackburn a season later. Mohamed Salah holds the record for a 38-game season, and another Liverpool striker, Luis Suarez, came closest to managing a goal-per-game ratio. Shearer broke the 30-goal barrier three times, but it is notable how few players have managed it - Michael Owen, Robbie Fowler, Didier Drogba and Sergio Aguero are not on the list despite being Premier League legends. During the record-setting seasons listed above, the average goals per game in the Premier League hovered about the 2.7 mark. At his current pace, Haaland is likely to break the Premier League record in his 27th game, which if he plays all City's matches will be against West Ham on March 18.

Haaland to ‘divorce’ Man City as his ‘anger’ with Guardiola sees their relationship ‘crack’..ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/480/cpsprodpb/15594/production/_128144478_gettyimages-1452951157.jpgErling Haaland is reportedly ready to ‘divorce’ Man City as he has a ‘very distant’ relationship with Pep Guardiola, who has created a ‘bad atmosphere’. The prolific striker only joined Man City last summer. They activated his £51m release clause to recruit him from Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund. Haaland has been in stunning goalscoring form for the Premier League holders this season. He has netted 31 goals in just 27 appearances for them this term across all competitions. Despite this, Man City find themselves chasing Arsenal in the title race and some have boldly argued that Haaland has made them weaker this season. Guardiola’s side are having to adapt their style for Haaland and while they do not always get it right, they are quite frightening to watch when they are at full tilt. But Spanish outlet Nacional are reporting that Haaland’s relationship with Guardiola is ‘starting to crack’. The report claims that Guardiola is making life difficult for himself this season as ‘several players accused him of being the main responsible for the bad atmosphere that is currently being felt’. They then allude to Joao Cancelo ‘growing tired’ of Guardiola before his loan move to Bayern Munich last month. This is while Bernardo Silva is also ‘planning to leave’ in the coming months. Though the ‘big bombshell’ is that Haaland has a ‘very distant relationship’ with Guardiola. They put two and two together and presume that this is down to him being ‘very unhappy with the style of play proposed by City’. The report adds that this could ‘end up triggering an unsalvageable divorce with Guardiola, and his subsequent departure’. How dramatic. Unsurprisingly, Nacional then proceeds to link Haaland with Real Madrid, who are ‘very attentive’ to his situation. The forward’s ‘anger’ with Guardiola is ‘incredible news’ for Real Madrid as president Florentino Perez feels that he is the ‘best possible successor for Karim Benzema’. The Spanish giants could well opt to ‘wait patiently’ until Haaland’s €200m release clause becomes active in 2024. Last month, Ben Jacobs reported that Haaland’s release clause ‘can only be triggered by non-Premier League clubs’. ‘The more he succeeds, of course, the more interest he’ll attract, but it’s not true that there’s a Real Madrid-specific release clause, and Pep Guardiola has gone on record denying this,’ Jacobs wrote for Caught Offside. ‘In fact, there’s no active release clause in his contract, though things will change a little in the summer of 2024 when a €200m release clause starts to kick in, and it can only be triggered by non-Premier League clubs. ‘This will also decrease the longer Haaland stays at Manchester City, but the clause doesn’t mean a great deal – if anyone outside the Premier League wishes to trigger it, they’d still ideally not want to match its terms.’

Erling Haaland looking for immediate Man City exit after finance scandal erupts and rift with Guardiola emerges..ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/E816/production/_128341495_erlinghaaland.jpgManchester City centre-forward Erling Haaland could reportedly leave the club next summer after they were hit with 115 charges relating to their finances. The shock announcement came on Monday, with the Premier League mounting charges against the club from between 2009 and 2018. If found guilty, the probe could have serious ramifications for the Cityzens, as anything from fines to their expulsion from the top flight is possible. Indeed, the accusations have allegedly led to major problems behind the scenes at City. Pep Guardiola also said that he would ‘quit’ if the club’s hierarchy ‘lied’ to him about their finances, so everything is up in the air at the moment. In 2020, following a UEFA investigation, the manager said: “When Manchester City is accused of something, like skipping the Financial Fair Play, I ask the board. “They explain it to me and I believe them. But I tell them ‘if you’re lying to me, I’ll leave and I won’t be a friend anymore.'” There have reportedly already been breakdowns in the relationship between Guardiola and his players this season, with rumours he and Joao Cancelo were involved in a bust-up before he joined Bayern Munich on a shock deadline-day move. One thing that isn’t in doubt though, is the sheer quality of Haaland. The striker has already scored a staggering 25 goals in 20 league appearances this season, looking set to break Alan Shearer and Andy Cole’s joint record of 34 in a single Premier League campaign. However, as reported by TEAMtalk on Wednesday, there are rumours that Guardiola never wanted Haaland at City at all and now it seems that the Norway international is already looking for a way out of the Etihad. This is according to Spanish outlet Nacional, who state the forward is ‘already questioning whether he made the best possible decision by going to the Etihad Stadium.’ Despite his tremendous scoring record, some pundits have suggested in recent days that Haaland’s presence actually makes them a worse team. City currently find themselves five points behind league leaders Arsenal, who also have a game in hand on them, so there is a good chance they will miss out on winning another title this season. The report adds that Haaland’s current relationship with Guardiola is ‘terrible,’ and that he is looking for a ‘change of scenery before his €200m release clause activates in 2024.’ They also state that the Norweigan believes ‘his next challenge would be in La Liga.’ Real Madrid have previously registered an interest in the 22-year-old, but Barcelona are also in the race, with club president Joan Laporta ‘keeping an eye’ on his situation. However, due to their ongoing financial situation, Real Madrid are still the favourites, if City do allow him to leave. Ultimately, that could be down to what consequences come from the Premier League’s charges if the club are indeed found guilty.

Erling Haaland: Manchester City striker withdraws from Norway squad with groin injury..ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/BEF4/production/_129048884_gettyimages-1474384352.jpgManchester City striker Erling Haaland has pulled out of the Norway squad for their opening Euro 2024 qualifiers through injury. Haaland, 22, picked up a groin problem after scoring a hat-trick in City's 6-0 thrashing of Burnley in the FA Cup quarter-final on Saturday. It means he will miss Norway's games against Spain and Georgia in Group A. "Erling took it hard when he realised that he could not fight for the team," said Norway coach Stale Solbakken. "Fortunately, there is still plenty of self-confidence, talent and cohesion in this group to win points in the next matches." Norway national team doctor Ola Sand added: "After doing tests and examinations yesterday it became clear that he will not make it for the games against Spain and Georgia. It is better that he receives medical follow-up at his club." Haaland has scored 21 goals in 23 appearances for Norway since making his debut as a 19-year-old in September 2019. His treble for City against Burnley took his tally to 42 goals in 37 games in all competitions so far this season, including five goals in a 7-0 hammering of RB Leipzig in the Champions League earlier this month. Pep Guardiola's side are second in the Premier League, eight points behind leaders Arsenal with a game in hand, and play Liverpool next at Etihad Stadium on 1 April. They also face Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter-finals and Championship side Sheffield United in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley next month. ichef.bbci.co.uk/ace/standard/240/cpsprodpb/49C4/production/_129048881_1412f919125a46f0bacb28fa9a7db93b83be38b1.jpg

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola. talking to BBC Match of the Day: On Erling Haaland: "The second goal was amazing. It is not easy to pick the ball up in the sky and put it on the grass. His talent is really good. We need him. The first half was not our best level but he changed the game. As a top scorer we lived two incredible decades with Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi but he is on that level. He scores a lot of goals. I am very happy with 65 minutes after injury and he helped us again." Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola, speaking to Sky Sports:On Erling Haaland: "I think our bosses bought him for this type of game, we are uncomfortable and not playing at our best level but he gets the goal. Erling Haaland: Manchester City striker called 'monster' as he beats season scoring record..ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/328F/production/_129334921_hi083775686.jpgErling Haaland was called a "monster" and a "beast" as he broke the scoring record by a Premier League player in one season as Manchester City hammered Bayern Munich in the Champions League. The 22-year-old Norway striker fired in City's third in their 3-0 quarter-final first-leg win to reach another landmark in his first season in English football. That was his 45th goal for City this season, in just his 39th game, a record for a Premier League player in all competitions. This was his sixth goal in eight games against German champions Bayern, having played them regularly with Borussia Dortmund, but he had never beaten them before. "Every team has to fear this player because he is just a monster. He is a beast, congratulations to Manchester City for signing him," former Bayern and Germany striker Mario Gomez told BT Sport. Haaland only touched the ball 28 times, fewer than any other starting player for either team. "He is the most efficient striker I have ever seen. His goalscoring is out of this world," said former England midfielder Owen Hargreaves, who played for Bayern and City. Former City defender Joleon Lescott added: "He is unique. It must be great for the wide players knowing you can put in an area and Haaland will connect." Haaland also has six assists this season for the Treble chasers, including one in this game - crossing for Bernardo Silva to make it 2-0. Former Manchester United striker Dion Dublin said on BBC Radio 5 Live: "He did so much work for other players in the game. "He was never going to be off the scoresheet when City score three goals." ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/59EF/production/_129332032_erlinghaalandgoalrecord1.pngichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/14067/production/_129332028_erlinghaalandgoalrecord2.pngSince the invention of the Premier League in 1992-93, no player has scored 45 goals in all competitions... until now. Ruud van Nistelrooy hit 44 goals for Manchester United in 2002-03 and Mohamed Salah did the same for Liverpool in 2017-18. Dutch striker Van Nistelrooy and Egyptian Salah both took 52 games to hit those 44. Haaland broke their record despite playing 13 games fewer. Van Nistelrooy was in his second season with United when he managed it, and Salah did it in his first year at Liverpool, but he had played in England for Chelsea before. Haaland may have been born in Leeds, but he moved to Norway at the age of three and had never played in England until this season. He has scored a wider range of goals than the others, with 28 goals coming via his preferred left foot. Salah scored 36 of his with his left foot, with 33 of Van Nistelrooy's coming from his right. Haaland has netted 10 with his right foot and seven with his head. Salah managed six and two respectively, with four left-footed goals and seven headers for Van Nistelrooy. None of Van Nistelrooy's goals came from outside the box, with Haaland only doing it once - but Salah scored five. With penalties, there is a huge range. Haaland has six, Salah only scored one that season and Van Nistelrooy bagged a huge 12. The last English top-flight player to score more in a season was Clive Allen of Tottenham in 1986-87, when he hit 49 goals in all competitions for Tottenham. ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/0BCF/production/_129332030_haaland.pngHaaland's 45 goals also breaks his previous best goalscoring season. In 2019-20 he netted a total of 44 goals, 28 for Salzburg and 16 for Dortmund. This was his 11th Champions League goal of the season, also a personal best. Only Van Nistelrooy (12 in that 2002-03 season) has ever scored more for a Premier League side. Haaland is City's top goalscorer in a season, a record he broke almost a month ago and has extended since. Tommy Johnson's 38 goals in 1928-29 had been the club record for 94 years. ................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................. What other records could he break?Haaland, already one of only 12 players to score 30 goals in a Premier League season, will surely break the record for goals in a Premier League season soon. The record is 34 - by Andy Cole in 1993-94 and Alan Shearer the following season, both in the days of 42 games. He is only two behind Salah's record in a 38-game season of 32 goals, set in 2017-18. Haaland has nine Premier League games left to break these records. Of course football did not begin in 1992 and there are records that even Haaland will struggle to reach. Dixie Dean scored 60 top-flight goals, and 63 in all competitions, for Everton, in 1927-28 - both records to this day. Haaland would need to match his entire Premier League goal tally again in the last nine games to break that first record. But if City go all the way in the Champions League and FA Cup he would have another 15 games to score the 18 goals needed to break Dean's record for all competitions. He can probably forget Lionel Messi's 2011-12 records for Europe's other major leagues too. The Argentine netted 50 La Liga goals and 73 in all competitions for Barcelona that season. In the Champions League, Haaland has now passed the 10 goals that were enough to win him the 2020-21 golden boot, but he needs a few more to match Cristiano Ronaldo's 17-goal record of 2013-14.

The Haaland factor..
Bayern Munich 1-1 Man City (Agg: 1-4)One big difference - quite literally - for Manchester City this season is the Erling Haaland factor. The prolific Norwegian striker was brought in specifically to help City finally get over the line in the Champions League. Now, despite Real Madrid's undoubted pedigree in the competition, Pep Guardiola's side are favourites to avenge last season's semi-final defeat and make it past the defending champions. ichef.bbci.co.uk/live-experience/cps/624/cpsprodpb/vivo/live/images/2023/4/20/d8099d1a-099c-4eb4-a147-c8c07a7fda1d.jpgHaaland - the stats..
No player has ever scored more goals in a single European Cup/Champions League season for an English club than Haaland's 12 for Manchester City in 2022-23 (level with Ruud van Nistelrooy for Man Utd in 2002-03). Haaland scored his 13th goal in the knockout stages in his 10th Champions League knockout appearance, four more than any other player has scored in their first 10 knockout appearances (Sadio Mane, 9). Haaland missed a penalty for Manchester City, the first time he’d missed a pen for City in eight attempts. In fact, he had scored his previous 15 penalties in all club competitions (excl. shootouts), with this miss his first since April 2021 vs Union Berlin for Borussia Dortmund. ichef.bbci.co.uk/ace/standard/480/cpsprodpb/965B/production/_129419483_haaland_getty.jpgFormer Premier League defender Stephen Warnock said despite missing a penalty, Erling Haaland showed his quality and his ability "to slow time down" with his goal against Bayern Munich on Wednesday. Haaland lashed a shot into the top corner to cap off a swift counter-attack, 15 seconds after Ederson had saved Kingsley Coman's shot at the other end, as it finished 1-1 on the night in Munich. Warnock told BBC Radio 5 Live's Football Daily:"That’s the quality of the player. When he’s in that position, that’s why he scores so many goals. "When you look at the great players in world football over the years, they have an ability to slow time down when they get in those positions and he has that ability in the penalty box. "An outstanding finish from Haaland and it was just that one moment he had been looking for the whole game. "I know he missed the penalty but from open play he was just so clinical in that position and that’s why he’s been bought for the football club." ichef.bbci.co.uk/live-experience/cps/624/cpsprodpb/vivo/live/images/2023/4/20/cdb9409f-8e0a-4630-b8ef-ee55893e34f9.jpg

Manchester City's Erling Haaland the record breaker..ichef.bbci.co.uk/live-experience/cps/624/cpsprodpb/vivo/live/images/2023/5/17/25474673-b7d6-4a56-9c7d-b7965f5e1fb2.jpgErling Haaland has only failed to score against three teams he has faced in the Champions League - Real Madrid (one game), Ajax (one game) and his current club Manchester City (two games). Here is a list of the dizzying records, supplied by Uefa, that the 22-year-old Norwegian has passed on his way to 35 goals from his 28 Champions League appearances so far: Youngest to 15 goals – 20y 126d Quickest to 15 goals – 12 games Youngest to 20 goals – 20y 231d Quickest to 20 goals – 14 games Youngest to 25 goals – 22y 47d Quickest to 25 goals – 20 games Youngest to 30 goals – 22y 236d Quickest to 30 goals – 25 games Youngest to 35 goals – 22y 272d Quickest to 35 goals – 27 games Only player to score first-half hat-trick on competition debut Only player to score multiple times in four consecutive appearances Only player to score more than one goal on competition debut for three different clubs And a couple of records within Haaland's sights: Youngest to 40 goals – Kylian Mbappé (23y 317d) Quickest to 40 goals – Ruud van Nistelrooy (45 games) ...................................................................................................... Can Real Madrid stop Haaland? - Man City v Real Madrid (1-1 agg)..by Simon Stone. ichef.bbci.co.uk/live-experience/cps/624/cpsprodpb/vivo/live/images/2023/5/17/84ce1a05-62df-4ae8-a1bb-a8349f96ddd1.jpgQuestion: Have Real Madrid and Antonio Rudiger worked out how to stop Erling Haaland and Manchester City? (Rudiger said City were not a threat after the first leg) Answer: I think it would be very dangerous to feel you have Haaland’s measure. At Everton on Sunday, he was being kept quiet and he scored a goal from nothing to turn what had been a close game into a one-sided stroll. Much may depend on how Polish referee Szymon Marciniak controls the game. He was in charge of the World Cup final, so the game itself won’t be a problem. But what physicality he is prepared to put up with when Rudiger and Haaland clash – as they inevitably will – could have a big bearing on whether the former Chelsea defender comes out on top. ................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................. 'A night on which Erling Haaland will be judged' - Man City v Real Madrid (1-1 agg) - by Simon Stone, BBC Sport. ichef.bbci.co.uk/live-experience/cps/624/cpsprodpb/vivo/live/images/2023/5/17/d6753022-2d31-4d90-884b-2947e63ba08f.jpgQuestion: Who could be the matchwinner? Answer: The way this season has gone, few would go against Erling Haaland. He has proved time and again he has the knack of being in the right place at the right time, or bulldozing his way there if needed, and then had the execution. These are the nights on which the Norwegian will be judged though. These are the games he was bought to make a difference in. Karim Benzema has been there and done it. Haaland still has to.
