Brompton Barracks attack: Knifeman 'licked blade clean' after soldier stabbed..By Patrick Hill, Senior News Reporter & Benedict Tetzlaff-Deas, News Reporter.i2-prod.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article33311049.ece/ALTERNATES/s1200d/3_Screenshot-2024-07-23-at-225209JPG.jpgThe 'knifeman' was seen carrying two knives as he carried out the attackAn eyewitness described seeing an alleged knifeman "lick the blade clean" in front of horrified bystanders after a British solider in uniform was stabbed near an Army barracks. A 24-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with the attack yesterday evening in Kent, which an army spokesperson said left a victim in his 40s with “serious injuries”. Police said they were called at around 5.55pm on Tuesday to a report of a serious assault in Sally Port Gardens in Gillingham. The Army declined to comment on reports that the soldier was in uniform at the time. The victim was airlifted to hospital for treatment. Alex Reynolds, 38, a commodities analyst, who lives around the corner from the scene of the attack, said he heard piercing screams before bravely heading towards them in a bid to help. He told the Mirror: “His wife came out and was telling other squaddies to get out of their cars and help. She was frantically running around literally directing traffic, telling them to drive on the pavements so they can get to the scene. She was getting as many people to try and help her husband.” The witness said the victim, who has not been identified, is known to go for a daily walk every evening. He added: “The first thing I heard was a piercing scream. When I first went down there I thought it was a scuffle between two people, but as soon as we got there we realised it was more. I saw a man on the floor - he wasn’t moving so initially we thought he’d died immediately, but maybe he had just been told not to move. i2-prod.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article33311565.ece/ALTERNATES/s1200e/0_Soldier-in-serious-condition-in-hospital-after-horror-attack-near-barracks.jpgWe stayed down there for about half an hour until they put a cordon up, nobody could really believe it had happened. A photo of him was shared round the community quite quickly, but I’ve never seen him before in my life. “I walk my son to the nursery and back morning and evening, there’s lots of uniformed military about. They are among the most friendly people in the area.” A witness, who rushed to his aid, told The Sun the attacker had been on a moped before running at the soldier and stabbing him repeatedly. The victim had “wounds all over his body”, the witness said, adding: “Blood was everywhere as I tried to apply pressure to his wounds until the police arrived. When the guy’s wife came out and started trying to pull the guy off he didn’t even try to hurt her.” Another witness said they saw the alleged knifemand run his finger across the knife and licked it in front of shocked bystanders. The suspect was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder at 6.20pm, Kent Police said. The road where police said the incident occurred is near Brompton Barracks, the headquarters of the British Army’s 1 Royal School of Military Engineering Regiment. An Army spokesman said: “We’re very sorry to confirm that a soldier has sustained serious injuries in an attack in Chatham, Kent. Our thoughts are with the soldier and their family and we request that their privacy is respected at this difficult time. “We will continue to work closely with Kent Police to understand what happened and support the investigation. Anyone who witnessed the attack or who has any relevant information should contact Kent Police.” A Kent Police statement said: “An investigation has been launched following reports of a serious assault in Gillingham. Kent Police was called at around 5.55pm on Tuesday 23 July 2024 to reports a man in his 40s had suffered injuries consistent with stab wounds in Sally Port Gardens. “The victim was taken to hospital, where his condition is described as serious. Officers attended the scene and at approximately 6.20pm a 24-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. A cordon is currently in place around the scene of the incident and inquiries to establish the circumstances are ongoing. Local residents can expect to see an ongoing police presence in the area.” i2-prod.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article33311458.ece/ALTERNATES/s1200e/0_PAY-British-Soldier-Stabbed-in-Chilling-Attack-Near-Brompton-Barracks.jpgA motorcycle helmet being analysed after an alleged knife attack

Lets face it "mental health issues" is in the standard Police statement these days,go back through this thread (if you want to get depressed) and you see it all the time along with "very rare incident". Every week seems to bring a new horror story, last week it was suitcases of body parts on the Suspension bridge, wasnt that "mental health issues" too ? so many "very rare incidents" its difficult to keep up with them.

Believed not to be a terrorist attack.Police are looking into the possibility of the attacker being mentally ill. Different motive to that you thought this morning? Yes. My next guess would be immigrant or son of immigrant. It's sadly a pretty accurate guessing system. Obviously not always. Sad,shocking but tragically not surprising. Can you imagine steel, repeatedly puncturing your body.

As for who and why, you could always wait to see rather than jump to conclusions.

I'm usually right on guessing what the perpetrator is like, with certain crime. The kind of crime that was relatively quite rare,or at least happened less once upon a time. You suggested I don't take a guess, fair enough, that's what your point of view. Some will say eg ' oh how awful, making political gain from such an awful crime, this is not the time for guessing games'.Then time goes by and nothing gets said, the perpetrator/s go to prison and the point you made, about certain crime being largely an imported 'gift' to ourselves, being usually done by immigrants,is largely unheard. A globalist strategy , shut them up and who cares if the working class get screwed.Disgusting. It would help if we copied the Scandanavians and Germans eg.Publicise the percentage of crime committed by immigrants, their percentage of the countrys population and what actual crimes committed. People have a right to know who they've 'invited into their homes',although this right has been trampled on by globalist Governments. "No one asked us". A referendum on staying in or leaving the ECHR would be polite and fair.

Talking to the women that I walk the dogs with early morning and they are concerned about attacks in general and knife attacks in particular,I wonder how many attacks would be needed before the public are allowed to carry weapons for self defence ? some do now of course but they could be breaking existing laws.

No point getting wound up about a certain section until we know for sure, it only adds to the anger and division, not only that but it pre judges events. Knife crime is up and needs to be tackled.

Knife crimes are up due to a "certain" section of society that are not natives of these shores ,or wouldn't have been 30 years ago. They come from backwards cultures that use these weapons due to religious beliefs,or are encouraged by gang culture so let's call it as it is. Of course impressible white youths carry knives so its not a colour exclusive, but the culture of these attacks and lack of understanding of the value of life does not come from our traditional British culture and has been imported by immigrants,or via social media/music or TV. We have created a woke, weak society that includes the political and policeing system,so much so that people feel is is acceptable to carry knives and use them. We have a new pandemic on our hands.

Maybe its social media ( I only use Twitter/X myself) but, I never used to knife crime and attacks like today.

Do you have any figures to back that up? I read a week ago that Yvette Cooper highlighted that there has been 70% increase in knife crime in England over the last eight years, and a 7% increase the last 8 months. I don't have any statistics on hand in regards to the race, religious beliefs of the attackers, but I'm sure that can be looked up quite quickly, even tho I doubt that the government will record such a stat in today PC culture.
