Nine attempted murder arrests after knife attack in Bristol..By Toby Codd.i2-prod.gloucestershirelive.co.uk/incoming/article9332384.ece/ALTERNATES/s810/1_5n9a2166.jpgTwo young men were rushed to hospital with knife injuries following the incident during the early hours of this morning June 9th. A total of nine people have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in Bristol. It comes after a knife attack in Easton during the early hours of this morning (Sunday, June 9). Avon and Somerset Police said two men, aged in their 20s, were rushed to hospital with knife injuries. One of them is in a serious condition following the reported attack at around 4.40am. A crime scene is now in place near Rawnsley Park. Easton Way is closed between the junction with Stapleton Road and Pennywell Road. There is also no access to Easton Way from Old Market. Investigating officers are appealing to the public for information. They are urging witnesses or anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area to get in touch immediately. Neighbourhood Policing Chief Inspector Scott Hill said: “This is a significant incident and I am conscious there have been a number of similar incidents of this nature over the past few months. “I also understand there is a great deal of concern among the community around knife crime. We remain dedicated to reducing serious violence and knife crime, especially among young people. Earlier this year, we launched a proactive operation targeting serious violence and knife crime and we are working closely with partners to identify and tackle the root causes. “A police cordon remains in place in Beaumont Terrace and Rawnsley Park and officers will be providing an increased high-visibility presence in the area over the coming days. “If you have any concerns or questions, please do speak to our officers out on patrol.” Avon and Somerset Police added: "If you were in the Stapleton Road / Rawnsley Park area between 4.15-5am this morning and witnessed anything suspicious, or have any video footage which could aid our enquiries, please call us. If you can help, please call 101 and give the call handler the reference number 5224148270, or complete our online appeals form. I seem to remember another stabbing in Rawnsley park earlier this year...maybe a good idea to have crime hot spots identified so the general public can avoid them.

And as Nigel Farage said in the recent debate - increased stop & search by the Police in these knife crime hot spots. When he mentioned this - even the hand-picked left leaning, woke audience applauded. Common bloody sense.

Another knife incident in Keynsham now...😔

Another knife incident in Keynsham now...😔 As Nigel Farage rightly said (I paraphrase): "I don't care about colour. Taking knives off of the streets will keep crime down and save lives". Who is mostly likely to be the victim of a knife attack? A young black male. But it is racist to suggest that we increase stop & search in these areas. How did we end up like this?

Looks like the centre alliance is facing a wipeout and voters will be faced with a far left alliance vs Le pen. Not a good look. I wonder if Macron is really in touch with the strength of feeling about immigration out in the provinces? Same as Ireland. Same as the UK come to that. And Germany, and...

I would lock up any first time shop lifters or petty little criminals up harshly, and intentionally so to make an example of them to create a fear in our culture that they will be punished if caught. We don't have that currently. First time Shop lifters 1- 2 years, re-offending shop lifters 5-10 years. Anyone carrying a knife without using instant 10 years without an reduced sentence. We have young idiots following thinking it's gangsta to carry a blade and our laws create that. I also never get it when people say we don't have the space to accommodate that many criminals....well I would build tower blocks of new prisons on one of the many islands we own, 50 stores tall, no windows, and built to punish.. in crammed humane still, but punishing conditions. No TV,PS5 etc... Just a bed, toilet excess and to books help educate ,and 1 hours exercise daily. As for the cost.... We are one of the richest countries in the world, we have money and will make it back once society feel nervous about their potential actions and the crime rates fall of the next generation.

It's worked so well in the States ...not I'm not up to date on the laws in the U.S, but I don't know anywhere there that they have a complete Zero tolerance policy.? The idea I would put in place is that low-level crime should not be tolerated and severe penalties should be in place for anti-social behaviour and minor incivilities in order to deter more serious crime. We don't do that whatsoever, we do the opposite. I say built prisons up high, give the police real powers to police and not have a fear of being classed as a racist etc if the the person is not white. Drain the swamp of all bent and corrupt cops and build our judicial system back up where each individual is accountable for their actions.

For example
Under Washington's law, neither the judge nor the prosecutor has the discretion to suppress prior serious convictions to avoid a life-without-parole sentence. The law means what it says and once a criminal is convicted of a serious felony on three separate occasions, the life-without-parole sentence is mandatory. The only exception is if the Governor signs a pardon or clemency.
Other states may choose to follow either Washington's or California's example, but the Washington model is more cost-efficient, more narrowly targets those criminals committing serious felonies over and over again, and is free of major loopholes. Since most laws are expanded in scope over time, it may be sound policy to start with a tightly written Three Strikes law, and expand it when politically, constitutionally and financially feasible. For example, Washington just passed Two Strikes for some sex offenders."
And in California
"The article argues that, in fact, the "three strikes" law does not reduce crime at all based on the fact that it keeps prisons filled with aging inmates who are statistically less likely to commit crimes because of their increasing age. The authors conclude by reiterating that the "three strikes" law has not operated in its proposed manner, rather the law has resulted in a disproportionate number of nonviolent offenders being sentenced to unusually long prison terms at the great expense of the taxpayers of California."

I agree but I would go further as a country we should look at places where there is very little crime and emulate their methods of controlling crime,Singapore sounds a good place to start.
