Primrose Hill stabbing: Harry Pitman named as stabbing victim..By Jess Warren & PA Media, BBC Newsi2-prod.nottinghampost.com/incoming/article9007286.ece/ALTERNATES/s810/0_JS320651320.jpgA 16-year-old boy stabbed to death in north London on New Year's Eve has been named by police as Harry Pitman. Officers were called to the stabbing in Primrose Hill, Camden, at about 23:40 GMT on Sunday. Metropolitan Police said first aid was given to Mr Pitman but he was pronounced dead shortly before midnight. A 16-year-old boy was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder and taken into custody. The force said the area was busy with people watching fireworks at the time of the stabbing and appealed for witnesses to contact them. The park is not an official viewing area for London's New Year fireworks, but people gather there to watch them. Det Ch Insp Geoff Grogan, who is leading the investigation, said: "My thoughts and sympathies are with Harry's family and friends at this difficult time. He was a young man with the rest of his life ahead of him. "His family are understandably devastated and specially trained officers are supporting them as they come to terms with their loss. "We know Harry was with a group of friends near the viewing platform on Primrose Hill where they had gathered to celebrate the New Year. "It is here where we believe Harry became involved in an altercation with devastating consequences. "Primrose Hill was very busy at the time and I believe there are people who witnessed the incident who have not yet spoken to police." One local woman said there were "hundreds if not thousands" of people there at the time of the attack. She said it was "absolutely tragic and shocking" that a teenager could be killed on her doorstep, adding: "It's not just a young people's party - there would have been families with young children there, too. "It would have been rammed. It's not just locals - people come from miles around." Another local described the incident as "tragic but inevitable" and said he had made "hundreds" of complaints to police about anti-social behaviour in the park. He said it had become a "party hotspot" with drugs and alcohol since the pandemic. Gina Germano, a mother of two teenage boys who were at Primrose Hill at the time of the attack, said she had "warned" her sons about gangs there, explaining it had become "rough" since 2020. On Monday morning, police officers stood guard at every entrance to the park, directing dog walkers and joggers away from the area and telling them it would be closed all day. Police tape has been used to section off the area, and a forensic tent has been erected at the northern end of Primrose Hill.

Not a stabbing but I read yesterday about a young woman murdered her boyfriend by running him over, she was drunk, one stupid moment whilst under the influence and her life is ruined and the poor blokes life is over.
That death could have been prevented if breath tests were connected to the car ignition...dont want to be facetious but it would be a good idea if people had to pass a breath test before they post on internet forums....

A new campaign to ban 'Zombie' knives and Machetes, thats fine and good but in my kitchen drawer I have 3 knives with 9" blades and 2 with 5" blades. Lethal knives are commonplace, what is needed is such draconian punishment for carrying or using knives that criminals will fear to carry them.

Now if we stopped making and selling them...Why anyone in a domestic environment would need a 9" knife of the variety used in this crime wave is beyond me.

Birmingham city centre murder as teenager 17 stabbed in broad daylighti2-prod.birminghammail.co.uk/incoming/article28485101.ece/ALTERNATES/s510b/1_VictoriaSquareclosed.jpgA cordon around Victoria Square after a police incident around 3.30pm on Saturday, January 20A 17-year-old boy who was stabbed in Birmingham city centre on Saturday afternoon has died. West Midlands Police said he was found with serious injuries in Victoria Square at about 3.30pm. The force said the teenager was taken to hospital where he later died. Detectives, who launched a murder investigation, said it was being treated as an isolated incident and urged anyone with information to come forward. Ch Insp James Spencer said the investigation was in its early stages but a team of detectives was working to "identify, and arrest, whoever did this". "The life of a 17-year-old boy has tragically been taken away and all our thoughts are with his family and friends at this awful time," he said. "We fully understand the shock and concern this will cause, and although it is being treated as an isolated incident, a visible police presence will remain across the city centre." Victoria Square is a pedestrianised area in the heart of the city centre, next to Council House and the Town Hall and near to shops and bars. A Major Incident Public Portal is available where any photos or video of what happened can be submitted, the force added.

"isolated incident" seems like Police spokesmen have to say something like this after every fatal stabbing, even looking at this thread they seem far from "isolated" or "very rare incidents". Seems to have become part of every day events now unless you are directly affected.

Just reading Grace O'Malley Kumars parents views on their daughters wicked killing, they want much stiffer penalties for carrying a knife. Grace was killed trying to defend her friend when he was stabbed (and died) an heroic action, the human rubbish that killed her should never be allowed out onto the streets again.

Listening to some kn0b of an MP on the radio on about banning machetes and zombie knives, waste of time because most stabbings are with kitchen knives, t6hey even got the sandy park killers on CCTV in the supermarket buying the knives.....
Caught with a knife, straight to jail, remanded in custody, 10 years hard labour no excuses...personally I would make it 25 years in a cage in Rwanda, bread and water every other day and show films of it here...guaranteed that knife crime would cease to be a problem within months....wont happen too many people think more of criminals rights than they do of victims..

Boy, 16, stabbed to death in night of violence on London's streets as police fear the grim tally of violent teenage deaths this year could be the worst in nearly a decade. A 16-year-old boy who was stabbed to death last night has been named as fears the tally of violent teen deaths could reach record heights this year. The teenager, named locally as Keane Harling, was one of two teens stabbed to death last night. Hours later, Keane died just before midnight after reportedly being stabbed outside his mother's home in Oval Place, south London. His family were 'in tears' as they visited the scene to lay flowers this morning. i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2021/07/06/16/45104591-9759889-image-a-76_1625584218887.jpgTeenager Kean Harling, 16, has been named

A 15-year-old boy was killed in Woolwich, southeast London just after 5pm in front of horrified onlookers in broad daylight. According to witnesses, he tried to use an umbrella to fight off his attackers but died at the scene, the Evening Standard reports. Pictures from the scene showed a large police cordon with multiple police and ambulance vehicles and it is understood the air ambulance was also called to the scene.
