Adding to the previous news item on page 9:Four gangsters who left girl, seven, in intensive care and crying 'mummy, why is this happening to me?' after drive-by shooting outside a church are jailed for 73 years Four gangsters who left a seven year old girl in intensive care following a drive-by shooting outside a church have been jailed for 73 years. The girl suffered wounds to her lung, abdomen, and groin, and still has a metal pellet embedded in a muscle close to her heart which will impact her for the rest of her life. An adult woman who was also hit in the attack, spent four months in hospital and can no longer walk by herself. A total of four women and two children were injured after the gunmen fired a sawn-off shotgun at a crowd of people outside St Aloysius Church in Euston, north London, in what was believed to be a gang-related attack. i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/04/12/16/66608803-13301981-The_drive_by_shooting_took_place_in_north_London_outside_the_mem-a-8_1712937135981.jpgRingleader Tyrell La Croix, sentenced to 26 years, even celebrated the gang's show of strength later that evening following what was believed to be a revenge attack. At the time of the shooting, the victims were attending a memorial service for Fresia Calderon, 50, and her daughter Sara Sanchez, 20, who died within weeks of each other through natural causes. Detectives believe that one of the gunmen, a member of a gang in north London, had wanted to attack rival gang members who were at the service. Mourners had turned to watch doves being released from the church steps when the criminals drove by in a black Toyota and shot at them from the rear passenger window. La Croix, 23, Alrico Nelson-Martin, 20, Jordan Walters, 24, and Jashy Perch, 20 were all convicted of conspiracy to wound with intent to cause serious bodily harm during a trial at Kingston Crown Court in February. Nelson-Martin was also convicted of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and Perch was also convicted of possession of an offensive weapon. i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/04/12/16/66590459-13301981-An_invitation_to_the_memorial_service_on_Saturday_urged_people_a-a-6_1712937125738.jpgToday, at the same court, La Croix, who was the gang member and therefore described as the 'organiser' of the shooting, was jailed for 26 years comprised of 21 years in custody and five on licence. Nelson-Martin was sentenced to 14 years in a Young Offender Institution and Walters was jailed for 13 years. Perch was sentenced to 20 years, comprising 16 years in a Young Offender Institution and four years on licence. Judge Mark Bryant-Heron KC said: 'This was a carefully planned conspiracy, with the attack timed to have maximum impact and ensure maximum injury. 'La Croix, you were the leader of the group. This was your plan and the others acted for you. 'Nelson-Martin and Perch, you sourced the car and put numbers on it. Nelson-Martin, you hid the gun, which was later modified with a shortened barrel to make it more dangerous. 'Walters and La Croix, you drove from Willesden to the church to reconnoiter the place of the attack. i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/04/12/17/66577461-13301981-The_shooting_took_place_at_a_memorial_service_for_Fresia_Caldero-m-11_1712937850928.jpgThe shooting took place at a memorial service for Fresia Calderon (left) and her daughter Sara Sanchez (right), who died within a month of each other'La Croix and Perch, you were in the car at the time of the shooting.' Judge Bryant-Heron added that La Croix went out 'celebrating' on the evening of the attack. 'You went out celebrating what you thought was a successful show of strength against a rival gang,' he said. 'You had been stabbed a year prior by a member of a rival gang and you were set on revenge. 'The truly horrific nature of this crime is that you were all prepared to shoot and maim innocent members of the public in order to continue a violent feud between two rival gangs. 'The effect of the shooting was catastrophic. You caused injury, panic, and mayhem. It is the highest category of harm.' The four defendants, all dressed in dark tracksuits, remained emotionless as their sentences were read out. But La Croix and Perch could be seen attempting to converse during the proceedings. Commenting on the verdict, Detective Inspector Darren Jones, from the Specialist Crime Trident Investigation team, said: 'These dangerous men brought unimaginable fear and horror to the streets of London. 'They cowardly shot at mourners as they gathered outside a church. The innocent women and girls who were injured will have to deal with the impact of that for the rest of their lives. 'This extensive and complex investigation demonstrates our relentless determination to identify dangerous offenders and bring them to justice.'

Sharon Beshenivsky: Piran Ditta Khan jailed for life over PC murder..By Alex Moss & David Spereall, BBC News.i2-prod.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article32777670.ece/ALTERNATES/s1200d/1_Man-74-extradited-from-Pakistan-in-court-charged-with-murder-of-policewoman-shot-dead-18-years-ago.jpgThe 75-year-old ringleader of an armed robbery in which a police officer was shot dead almost 20 years ago has been jailed for life for her murder. Piran Ditta Khan spent nearly two decades evading justice for his part in the killing of PC Sharon Beshenivsky in Bradford on 18th November 2005. Khan, who was extradited from Pakistan last year, was convicted of murder following a trial at Leeds Crown Court. He was told he would serve a minimum term of 40 years in prison. The judge, the Honourable Mr Justice Hilliard, said that PC Beshenivsky's "courage and commitment to her duty that day cost her her life". He told Khan: "The sentence I pass is no measure of the value of the life that has been lost. "That's beyond measure and no sentence I pass can put right what you've done wrong." PC Beshenivsky had been responding to reports of an armed robbery at the Universal Express travel agents on Morley Street in Bradford with her colleague, PC Teresa Milburn, when she was fatally attacked. The two officers arrived at the scene about 5.30pm, but as they approached the entrance, three men burst out of the premises, shooting them both. PC Milburn was seriously injured. i2-prod.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article32777669.ece/ALTERNATES/n310p/0_Man-74-extradited-from-Pakistan-in-court-charged-with-murder-of-policewoman-shot-dead-18-years-ago.jpg

Live coverage on news from France that at least two prison officers have been killed in an ambush on a prison van.ichef.bbci.co.uk/live-experience/cps/1440/cpsprodpb/11422/production/_133309607_ram2.pngSummaryAt least two French prison officers have been killed in an ambush on a prison van near Rouen in Normandy, France The prisoner was being taken from court to a prison and escaped after the attack French justice minister Eric Dupond-Moretti says three other officers were seriously injured The officers were shot with "heavy weapons" by the prisoner's accomplices, the minister says Several hundred police officers and gendarmes are involved in the manhunt French prosecutors name the inmate as Mohamed Amra, born in 1994 - he was previously convicted of aggravated robbery and charged with abduction leading to death ichef.bbci.co.uk/live-experience/cps/624/cpsprodpb/vivo/live/images/2024/5/14/6da1c4df-5eb7-4c8a-a4b3-700504febfd6.jpgWe're getting more details now from Eric Dupond-Moretti, the French justice minister. He says one of the killed officers leaves behind a wife and two children, and the other leaves a wife who is five months pregnant. Eric Dupond-Moretti says during a transfer from a courthouse to a prison in Rouen, a man escaped, and his accomplices "didn't hesitate to shoot the prison officers using heavy weapons". He says the two killed officers both had families - as we reported in the previous post. "Everything - and I mean everything - will be put in place to find the perpetrators of this vile crime. They will be found and punished in a way proportionate to the crime." More details now on the prisoner who has escaped.Paris public prosecutor Laure Beccuau identifies him as a "closely watched inmate", Mohamed Amra, born in March 1994. She says he was convicted of aggravated robbery last week, and also charged in a case of abduction leading to death. Beccuau says two prison officers were killed in the attack and two others are receiving urgent medical care. We've just had a new statement from prosecutor Laura Beccuau. It says that - contrary to an earlier statement from her office - Mohammed Amra was not a "closely watched inmate" (in French, a détenu particulièrement signalé, or DPS). But it says Amra did require a "level 3" escort. ichef.bbci.co.uk/live-experience/cps/624/cpsprodpb/vivo/live/images/2024/5/14/9772075f-0f9f-481a-8ab5-3692da153a2f.pngichef.bbci.co.uk/live-experience/cps/624/cpsprodpb/vivo/live/images/2024/5/14/47ca6684-3377-4ce2-b09b-5a5e1593ad74.png

Girl, 9, critical after Hackney quadruple shooting..i2-prod.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article32921233.ece/ALTERNATES/s1200d/0_PAY-Gunshots-fired-in-Dalston.jpgA girl aged nine is "fighting for her life" after a shooting in which three adults were also injured in Hackney, east London. The "innocent victim" was having dinner with her family in a restaurant in Kingsland High Street, in Dalston, when shots came from outside at about 21:20 BST on Wednesday, Ch Supt James Conway of the Metropolitan Police said. Three men, aged 26, 37 and 42, sitting outside the restaurant were also injured by gunshot, believed to have come from a motorbike. They and the girl, who are not believed to be known to each other, remain in hospital, with one of the men potentially suffering "life-changing" injuries. Ch Supt James Conway said there were two crime scenes. One at the scene of the shooting and another at Colvestone Crescent, where the stolen motorbike was recovered. He added: "Events such as these are rarely spontaneous. www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c0kk5018nq1oA 20-year-old man has been charged with murdering a woman who was fatally stabbed on a beach. Nasen Saadi, from Croydon, London, who is also charged with attempted murder, is due to appear before Poole Magistrates' Court on Saturday. Who'd have guessed it. Let me be clear. For about the hundredth time - these incidents are incredibly rare. It's almost as if we have a large percentage of the population that do not share traditional British values.

Girl, 9, shot by motorcyclist remains critically hurt..James W Kelly, BBC News.i2-prod.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article33263018.ece/ALTERNATES/s1200d/0_Hackney-shooting.jpgA nine-year-old girl injured when a motorcyclist fired a number of shots towards a restaurant in east London seven weeks ago remains "stable" but may not "speak or move properly again", her parents have said. The shooting occurred on Kingsland High Street, Dalston, at about 21:20pm on 29th May. Three men, aged 26, 37 and 42, who were sitting outside the restaurant were also injured. They have all been sent home from hospital. The Metropolitan Police has released CCTV images of the motorcyclist they are trying to trace over the shooting. The girl's parents say they are "devastated about what has happened". "She only went there for ice cream and now we do not know if we will ever get our daughter back to being the smart, funny girl that she was before and whether she will be able to ever speak or move properly again." i2-prod.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article33263022.ece/ALTERNATES/s1200e/0_Hackney-shooting.jpgDet Ch Supt James Conway said detectives believed the shooting could be linked to "Turkish-originating organised criminal networks". Detectives had previously appealed to east London's Turkish and Kurdish communities for information on the shooting. “Our investigation team has been working tirelessly to piece together what happened and to identify the dangerous individuals responsible for this shocking and indiscriminate act of violence," Det Ch Insp Conway continued. He said the motorcycle had been in the Peckham and Crystal Palace areas and urged anyone with information about it or the rider to contact police. Last month, the police identified the bike as a Ducati Monster motorbike that was dumped close to the shooting on Colvestone Crescent. In 2021 the bike - described as having a white body, red chassis, red wheels and a registration plate of DP21 OXY - was stolen from a property in Wembley, north London, the Met said. "The nine-year-old girl who was injured was simply out having dinner with her family. She remains in hospital in a critical but stable condition," Det Ch Insp Conway added. "Whoever this person is, they are dangerous and must be removed from our streets." The girl's parents added: "We need our child back and we are all praying for her full recovery."

Police launch murder investigation after man shot dead in Liverpool..George Wright, BBC News.
i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/07/18/00/87471695-13645125-image-a-14_1721258632535.jpg A 36-year-old man, who has not yet been named, was shot on Quarryside Drive, Kirby around 6.35pm on Wednesday
A man has been shot dead on a street in the Kirkby suburb of Liverpool, police say. Merseyside Police said a murder investigation was under way after the 36-year-old was shot on Quarryside Drive on Wednesday evening. The victim - who has not yet been named - was rushed to hospital but pronounced dead a short time later, police said. The shooting took place near Liverpool FC's training ground. “A murder investigation is under way this evening following an appalling and tragic incident in which a man has lost his life after he was fatally shot," Detective Superintendent Mark Drew said in a statement, external. "Our thoughts first and foremost are with his family, who are trying to come to terms with his loss." Police said the family had been informed and would be supported by specialist family liaison officers. The shooting happened on Quarryside Drive at around 18:35, the force said. Extensive CCTV enquiries are under way in the area and house-to-house inquiries are taking place. Forensic examinations are also being carried out at the scene of the crime. Det Supt Drew called on the public to contact police if they witnessed the attack, and asked people to check their CCTV, dashcam devices or doorbell footage for anything suspicious. “There is no room for guns on the streets of Merseyside and we will do everything within our power to ensure those responsible are brought to justice," he said. “My message to those involved in gun crime and serious organised crime is clear – Merseyside Police will never rest, we are relentless in our pursuit of those involved."

Mass killer who ‘hunted’ black people says police encouraged him..by Charlie Northcott, BBC Africa Eye.An epic read about a convicted South African murderer who shot dead dozens of black men during apartheid has told the BBC the police sanctioned his violence. Louis van Schoor says others should share the blame for the killings he carried out as a security guard. But in talking to BBC Africa Eye over the past four years, he has also let slip horrifying details that raise serious questions about his early release from prison. Two Britons shot dead and set on fire,in a rented car,in Sweden. Hmm,just to say it looks as if these two 'Britons ' were part of our imported crimewave ,almost certainly murdered by Swedens imported crimewave. The two may of had British passports, but they were as British as eg foreign drug dealers.

Two British citizens have been found shot dead in a burned-out car in Sweden in a horror case police are now investigating as a double murder..by James Reynolds. The bodies were recovered after firefighters were called to the scene of a blaze on a dirt road in the Fosie industrial estate in the coastal city of Malmö on Sunday. It is believed that the victims rented a car at Copenhagen Kastrup airport before they were found in the nearby Swedish city across the border. They are understood to have been shot before the car was set alight, local media reports. The identities of the deceased have not yet been shared, but police officials say they 'have and idea of who they are'. As they begin their manhunt, pulling in several people for questioning, authorities now fear that more violence could follow, according to local media, as they refuse to rule out a connection to gang violence. i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/07/16/17/87406015-13639943-Forensic_teams_are_working_to_confirm_the_identities_of_the_Brit-a-74_1721146209441.jpgThe bodies will be examined forensically this week as police look to confirm the identities and notify the next of kin. Rickard Lundqvist, press spokesperson for police region South, on Sunday confirmed the probe - but said there was no suspect at present. Police only identified that the victims were not Danish 'since it was a Danish-registered car'. Swedish tabloid Aftonbladet reported that the victims were British. Police confirmed they are now working with foreign police on the case. They are now asking for tips about the burned out car as they try to piece together what happened. 'We are interested in talking to people who have seen the car. 'It's about a black Danish-registered Toyota of model RAV4,' said Kerstin Gossé, spokesperson for the Swedish Police Authority. They are now asking anybody who saw the car between 11.30am and 2pm on Sunday, July 14th to get in touch. i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/07/16/17/87407747-13639943-image-a-69_1721145853309.jpg'We are working hard with various measures in this investigation to bring clarity to this,' she said. The car has already been impounded and several people will soon be questioned, they confirmed. We cannot go into any details at all about the people in question or the circumstances in general,' Rickard Lundqvist said. The scene is still cordoned off and a crime scene investigation is underway, according to local media. The victims were last seen travelling past the Öresund Bridge toll station on Sunday afternoon. Police reportedly now fear that there could be more acts of violence to come, according to Aftonbladet. But Gossé said that there was nothing she had heard internally to that effect. Police declined to say whether the apparent attack was connected to gang violence. 'We have to keep everything open. It is nothing that I can speculate on this early in the investigation,' Gossé said. 'So far, we are keeping tight and restrained so that the preliminary investigation can have its way,' she added. i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/07/16/17/87406063-13639943-Authorities_are_reportedly_working_with_Interpol_on_their_probe_-a-75_1721146211805.jpgThe number of murders reported in Sweden increased 39 per cent between 2013 and 2021. Sixty people were shot in Sweden in 2022, after the pandemic, marking a tragic record in modern times, the government said late December. Malmö, the country's third largest city with a population of some 300,000, had the fourth highest count behind Stockholm, Gothenburg and Västerås The UK government continues to issue foreign travel advice about travelling to Sweden. 'Violent crime does occur. Gang-related crime, including knife crime, shootings and explosions, has been reported in Malmö, Stockholm and Gothenburg,' it reads.
