Absolutely the right result today. Neither side deserved to win,or lose. However, we can hold our heads high that as all season, we haven't tried to s**thouse the officials, or play up to the alleged "bad boy" aura around the club. This nonsense that officials plainly have in their minds about our manager, needs to stop soon because we are getting unfairly punished for petty prejudice. UTFG 🏴☠️ Agreed. We can see the man now, not the caricature that draws the negative responses. No-one has done more to create the caricature or to exploit it for their own purposes than 'our Joey', who has taken each and every opportunity to trade off on his notoriety. As a result, its hard to know where to know where the caricature ends and the man begins. If others take him at face value then unfortunately we will just have to live with it. However, Joey's perennial victim mentality will no doubt lead him to find blame in somebody or something else.

I think FGR just had the better of things over the 95 minutes. Not much in it though. Luke Thomas made another good cameo, going close to scoring. I thought our passing was at times not so hot today. James saved us more than once and deserved his MOTM. Congratulations to FGR on their promotion. I was applauding them after the ft whistle, then their supporters came on the Mem field. The Nailsworth people had nothing particularly naughty in mind and proceedings took a bizarrely comical turn, when about ten St Georges also took to the field,in apparent crusade to force the Cotswoldian hordes back. I did'nt see any fighting. Two games to go,with everything to play for. Up the Gas! That was the old flowerpot lot and with a few from Frampton. I was not going to dress up for this. Good on them for keeping the child inside, alive.

Yes, talk to the people who work with him on a daily basis and you'll get the true picture - apparently his team talks are quite something.

Another observation from yesterday.
The red mist of Finley worries me if we reach the play-offs. He was warned a few times but still got himself booked.
Against Salford, he got a yellow for a flying elbow, when other refs may have seen it as a red.
He looks like that he is ready to let rip at any point.
Good player, but I fear he may lose his head when pumped.

He couldn't buy a pass yesterday - you could see his frustration building.

Will our loan players Connolly, Thomas, Anderson, Taylor and Spence be able to play after the season has ended, for the play-offs if needed.

I have vague memories from the dim and distant past of Tommy Smith commenting something along the lines of "whether I'm hard or not is irrelevant - but the reputation certainly helps." Whether I take JB at face value or not and what I think of him is my business.

Match Report:
Forest Green Rovers have been promoted to League One for the first time in their history, following a goalless draw at Bristol Rovers.
The Gloucestershire team have been at the top of the table since September and are now eight points clear of fourth-placed Port Vale, who have only two matches remaining to Forest Green's three.
Jamille Matt, Jack Aitchison and Nicky Cadden were all denied by Bristol Rovers goalkeeper James Belshaw in the second half, while Luke McGee produced a fine save to thwart Luke Thomas at the other end.
Bristol Rovers remain in fifth place, two points away from the automatic promotion places with two games left.

Indeed - you are entirely welcome to take Joey at face value or do otherwise. But the point is that we can hardly complain about being treated like a team of thugs when we employ a thug as our manager.

On balance I am sympathetic to your views re Barton, but I do not think other fans see us a team of thugs. Managed by one, yes indeed, but I don't think there is any evidence that the players play like thugs or act like thugs in their private life. Time to move on this topic I would say, unless this raises it's ugly head again in the future.

That was either claim he kicked his wife in the head or comparing our performance to the Holocaust. All some time before last Xmas.

Depends on which you think is the blip, and which is the trend IMO Almost feels like you're celebrating him getting thru 4 months without embarrassments
