And to rub salt into the wounds, the England team were " celebrating " the end of tour with a party, were interrupted by Police and told to disperse after a hotel guest complained about the noise... something to celebrate... anything to celebrate ? Oh forgot.. the famous draw !!!

Oh forgot.. the famous draw !!! Was Boris there? Nothing to see here, Boris wasn't there - and if he was it was by accident. And obviously that was a "work related" event anyway. If all that fails he was in Pizza Express with Prince Andrew.

England have approached Novak Djokovic to open the batting for them in the next Ashes series, after all, it took the Aussies ten days to get him out.

He was a bit of a wazzock though. Telling porkies about catching Covid and more porkies about travelling to other countries before arriving in Oz. What did he expect?

No. But several of the Australians were. Ironic really. Our batsmen having to be told to get out.

Having made a pigs ear of getting Djokovic out when he’d broken a few entry requirements they have to show some kind of even-handedness with everyone. And there’s a national election coming up in a few months so I suspect this has much to do with politics as it is with Covid.

I think it was more to do with Graham Thorpe lighting up a cigar indoors in the bar, than anything else.

After the Ashes disaster, at least we have the T20 team to lift our spirits. They won't let us down......
....oh, hang on......

Wow, Wow and Wow, It's all over England win by 1 run, a good comeback from yesterday's thrashing.
At one point Romario Shepherd was turning down singles, about 4 overs previous.
Romario Shepherd finishes unbeaten on 44 from 28 balls, while Akeal Hosein smashed 44 from 16 balls!
Level at 1-1

England captain Joe Root has been named men's Test cricketer of the year by the International Cricket Council (ICC).
Despite a difficult year for his side, Root hit 1,708 runs in 2021 - the third most in a calendar year in Tests.
He scored two double centuries and a further four hundreds, including three in successive Tests against India.
Root was also nominated for the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for ICC men's cricketer of the year, that award going to Pakistan bowler Shaheen Afridi.
"I am incredibly proud to receive this award," said Root, 31, who become the second Englishman to win the Test cricketer award after Alastair Cook in 2011.
England won just four of 15 Tests in 2021, including losing the Ashes in Australia and series against India and New Zealand, but Root stood a class above the rest of his side's batting line-up.
Root scored more than three times as many runs as any of his team-mates - Rory Burns was the next highest scorer with 530 runs - and averaged 61 from 29 innings.

latest instalment of the WI T 20 ....224--5 off the 20 .... sub standard bowling display from England, after watching MIlls in the 100 last summer ,despite his recent injury problems, i couldn't see how most of the commentators were all over him,,,,

Jason Roy is capable of what Powell did, Livingstone can tap a few too. 1st over 5-0.

West Indies 224-5, Powell 107, pooran 70, Rashid 1-25.
England 204-9, Banton 73 off 39 balls, Salt 57, Shepherd 3-59.

I watched it from start to finish and whilst we didn’t bowl well that was some innings from Powell with Pooran in support. It was great entertainment but it shows that whilst Topley and Rashid bowled well, Garton, Mills didn’t. And if Livingstone isn’t 100% fit then as an all rounder he shouldn’t be playing, it’s unfair on him. But looking for silver linings, Banton again looked very good, Salt looked a great find and in one day cricket, Vince, Roy and the batsmen were all positive and on another day would have scored boundaries on the balls they got out to. I thought only Ali was out to a poor shot. It came off for the WI today, next match it may be different.
