... he gives people a chance to have a good old laugh with his comedy interviews. Yesterday’s Mirror Football Saturday Supplement. We have the whole of the front page, and all of pages 2 and 3. Eat your heart out Bristol City, we are a bigger club than you now with Wael and B***** here! And not just sticking a mic in front Joeys mouth on a thin football news weekend, premier football journalist Mike Walters does the proper thing, getting to what makes his football teams tick playing the B***** way, and probing B***** on how he grew up from the often petulant and sulky football teen into model professional and up coming elder statesman of football, distancing himself from his troubled past. Well. When I say we, it’s all about Joey really, the heading is the cryptic ‘MAD, BAD AND DANGEROUS TO KNOW?’ our Rovers is mentioned in the bits Joey plights his love for us and intent to do right by us, the fan base of this sleeping giant. And when I say Walters didn’t just stick a mic in front a gob for copy on quiet footy news weekend. um… “I want to give Gasheads among the people of Bristol some respite from the endless negativity of a Tory government who don’t care about the people who put them in office. One minute they are removing universal credit the next minute drinking champagne and singing she’s having the time of her life! We are the sick man of Europe. Friends in Marseille ask me, how are the British not on the streets? They don’t understand how we put up with it.”

To what extent has Joey’s football and managerial career, and his life, been ruined by thinking he has to be the enfant terrible, playing up to it, giving them what he thinks they want, not being to grow out of all that in the way others have? Or to what extent is it people like that never change?
“Bristol Rovers have been around 99 years longer than me” Joey continues. “But their highest finish is sixth in the old second division. My lowest ever finish was 5th in the second tier. I want the club to aim high and breath in the air of a higher altitude.”
We all want that don’t we? So maybe we should be more French and protest rather than just putting up with it? Be careful what you wish for Joey 😆

If bullsh1t and self-belief won championships I could see how some could make an argument for keeping him (but would still disagree with it because 'him').

Truth just a matter of opinion and belief isn’t it? The Gospel according to B***** and his followers, Ben Garner relegated us. Yet you are claiming Joey! Do you deny Joey’s intent is to lift us from the misery inflicted by this Tory government, regardless how you have voted or will vote tomorrow?

I want the club to aim high and breath in the air of a higher altitude.” I expect he had the same ambitions for Fleetwood yet all he did there was run up a £6,000,000 loss in a single season and achieve nothing.
