Taylor has had two months to decide whether he wants to stay or go,he owes Darrell a great deal for a) signing him and b) having faith in him when many doubted his ability to score on a regular basis. Of course DC owes Taylor for being an integral part of our two promotions but enough is enough, no one player is bigger than the team and Darrells first thought must be planning the team for the new season. Personally I hope he stays but not at any price, the team spirit is more important than any one single player.

I think fluidity is key nowadays, organisations need to be able to quickly adapt and change directions depending on current trends. They must also be very open and encourage not only members but non-members to suggest/debate ideas and initiatives. Constitutions are often seen as a 'written in stone' unmovable object or even a brick wall you cant pass.. Having younger people involved is also needed to stay fresh/current and of course engage with the future. In the last year or so we've had some fantastic initiatives started inc. Last Saturday Night Zine, GasCast, and some excellent merchandise start ups. I have spent some time observing and meeting these guys and they are doing things that the 40+ gang just cannot do - they integrate and share the thoughts of a huge section of our support - the younger generation. The club find themselves now with a real prospect of relative success after two seasons of promotion football, the crowds are building and the young people are seeing us a somewhere where they'd like to go. With a figure at the top (Wael) who is already popular and seems to identify with them. As many have said already, this is our landmark year where everything at our club has to re-evaluate and listen to what the modern world now needs to be successful and up-to-date and current. The world has changed/moved on rapidly in the last decade, you either change with it or fall by the wayside. Sadly, some will not like change, many people don't cope with it and some will even yearn for the days of RagBag Rovers because in some ways it has a special place in their hearts. So to summarise, everything needs to be re-assessed including the SC, it's not a criticism it's a good thing and should be enjoyed. UTG What a sensible and well written post!

I don't want to swap my 23 game season ticket for a 19 game one. I don't care if its arbitrary, I'd rather go to more games than less. I'd back an idea to increase it to three divisions of 32 teams! This!!

Just wanted to say congratulations. Have been following your season and has been hard not develop green eyes as was so close to being us. But you are top club with class fans, meet a few on my travels again this year and were always friendly. A cracking manager too so deserve another promotion. Only wish there was a Bristol derby next year to look forward too. Hope you can spare a little luck for the Mariners you left behind though. Best of luck in League 1! thanks for the kind words, its your turn now, good to see you got past Braintree today, good luck at Wembley, v FGR I hope you win and reclaim your rightful place in the football league.

I wonder if there any about who attended an Accrington Stanley away match in their previous league history ? an old Shthead maybe as I believe they played them in the cup in the '50s. I dont think we ever played them in their previous life as they were always in the old Third division North and i cant recall any cup games

Glad you mentioned Easter, most people I spoke tp thought he had a good game, he had me tearing my hair out! Still, as you say it was a very good performance, here's hoping for another one against Luton. Unfortunately Easter suffers from the same complaint as Matty Taylor did - the ball watchers in the crowd do not see the work he does off the ball. I thought Easter played well too, his work off the ball was quality. Montana gives us width as he's a proper winger who can usually put over a decent cross. The rest of the summary is just about spot on.

I think its really interesting that teams used to do that, whereas these days anyone playing on Christmas Day seems absurd. I wonder what changed? And kick off about 10.45am AND no bus's running!

It's a trick question, if the question has "loan" in it it's automatically Dennis Bailey. Hmm in that case Ball Baggie and Wakefield wont count so I'll have to add Blissett to make the 8 who played as loanee's

I was 7, home game v Watford 23-10-1965 1-1 draw thats all I remember about the game, other than carrying my large blue and white rattle, and buying a rosette outide of the ground. Went with my Dad and Grandad, Dads side of the family were City supporters, but he still went most weeks to Rovers when they were home. Fortunately my Grandad saw that I followed Mums side of the family and became addicted to Rovers Do I get a long service medal for getting to 50 years supporting this year ?
Nah, it'll be my 60th in January, all i've got to show for it is is an addiction worse than crack cocaine!
