I sincerely hope that you will be having an indepth consultation period regarding the wording on the banner. After all it's very easy to upset a b'stard or two on here.

Completely indifferent to this news. A player I'd never heard of doesn't sign for Rovers. Have to laugh at people on Twitter being 'hoodwinked' though, god forbid someone is on the internet not telling the whole truth. Who'd have thunk it?

Deeply ironic that we are discussing racism at football just after the Football League have approved a discriminatory proposal based on race. Just another act that will further entrench racism in society.

I'd love to see CL back but we were all saying the same about O'Toole after his loan spell Not all. I recall several people having reservations when O'Toole was holding out for the highest bidder. But no objectors at the start of the summer when he was the number one target. Perhaps there will be a few desenters if CL is still holding out for more money come the end of July. Hopefully he will sign a long time before then

Personally only watched football for one of 3 reasons it's the team I support Rovers, my country or it's top level football whether champions league, premiership etc. So womens football is a completely pointless to me.
No idea why someone is trying to compare mens v womens to 100m v 1500m surely a more accurate comparison is freestyle swimming v back stroke ie completely pointless a race is to get from a to b a quick as possible which is freestyle in swimming. The best football team will never ever be a women's team

What a strange response, it was you comparing the Premier League to the Downs League. Again I'll apologise for wanting the best for our players & agree with very little you have said. No club in Conference regional level in their right mind would take him. You came up with two options that I shot down, I'd suggest a team that finished one place outside the playoffs last season is a good move. It's probably because you haven't really heard of Redditch that you're a bit down on them. If it had been a Dorch or Weymouth you'd have probably been fine with it despite them being worse than Redditch last season. If you say so, obviously you've spoken to all of them or don't rate Kieran. Still it the same at whtever level isn't it, as you said .....

Having played in the Downs league he wouldn't have much opportunity of stopping shots flying into the top corner due to the lack of them happening. One of the outcomes of a pyramid system is that the higher you go the better players become and hence the higher you go the more chance of shots flying into the top corner. Sorry for thinking it would be best to get our players playing at the highest level possible. Still obviously Redditch is closer to Bristol than Bath or Weston-super-Mare. So you think Bath or Weston would stick in a lad that's never played a competitive match in men's football? Remembering that Jason Mellor at Bath and Luke Purnell at Weston have both been linked with moves to League clubs? Comparing the Southern Prem to the Downs League is outrageous as well. Bar that I completely agree with everything you've said there. What a strange response, it was you comparing the Premier League to the Downs League. Again I'll apologise for wanting the best for our players & agree with very little you have said.

Very unimpressed by this news. I'm going to guess that Redditch are paying nowt for him and if so then I would've expected him to be farmed out to at least Conference South level if not to one of the part time Conference sides. Pa I'm ignoring calling it ' National ' A fantastically bonkers stance.
There are only 160 starting places from Conference Regional up in the football pyramid. The best thing about being a goalkeeper is playing at any level can be a test. If a strike is going in the top corner then it's going in the top corner in the Premier League or the Downs League. Kieran is at the age he needs to play, he's taking over from a keeper that has been a huge success for Redditch and hopefully will continue that trend. Other points, Redditch is half way between Bristol and Derby, he can train and commute up, the Southern League Prem this year is actually a bloody good league (Dorchester, Weymouth, Merthyr, Poole, Cirencester are all in good shape) and the travelling is significantly less meaning Kieran can spend more time with Rovers. Bar that you're spot on.

i believe the game was around 3/4 years ago. team wise not sure vaguely recall at Oxford for some reason.where there were a good following of rovers and this pub with good outside space full of people doing the football and their own private thing, all ages ,young kids and adults, and rovers fans enjoying a pre match drink, when a group of rovers came into the garden and just created havoc, as i said it was discussed on the previous forum to this, [had a trawl back to 2013 but cant find it. so before then, not something i have made up to make comparrisoms about the wembley incedents , but its a case of where those who create the problem initially are never those who get caught up in the " what comes around type incedent," sure its never nice to be caught up in it, and most clubs have these type of followers, wether its rovers grimsby or whoever, Thought you were muddling your facts about that game. Everything was peaceful at the pub with a huge number of Rovers fans enjoying drinks out the front of the pub, & indeed there was a marquee selling beer. Then the Oxford fans entered the rear of the pub & came through & out to the front throwing punches. At which point a number amongst the large gathering at the front of the pub thought 'I'll have a bit of this' and chaos ensured. Of course the truth that won't suit your warped narrative will it?

Why get worked up by the consistently, inconsistent 'rules' applied by the mods?Inconsistentcy will swing round next week & we'll be able to have a random discussion about the price of bread without it being moved, locked or some anchor dropping it to the bottom of the threads. In reality it is only a couple of them that enjoy the power of being in control & since I've blocked them I've enjoyed the forum much more.

Well if you want to be 'condescending' I would've thought that you would've remembered he had 2 injuries to the same knee, or at least someone judged him 'fit' after his first injury (perhaps they were using your scientific judgement of 'fit'?). Given 2 injures to the same knee I would hesitate before offering him a 2 year contract, though I would certainly have offered him something because if can get over the knee injuries he will be an excellent player to have on the bench or to step in and cover injuries to others, personally I don't see him as being in the first XI each week. Wasn't the first injury a hairline fracture of the foot? Oops, at least I realised he had had two injuries unlike someone else. And he's yet to show he is over the second one.

Fan-f******g-tastic I know plenty of supremely fit personal trainers but I wouldn't let them anywhere near a pitch. And if you're injured you aren't fit. Strange how people react on here to offering contracts to injured players given our past record of signing injury prone duds (which Stuart may or may not be, hopefully not). But he's the all action type of player our fans want to see & I suspect the sort of player that opposition fans go away saying 'well he did a lot of running & tackling but didn't really play much football. Good to see you're in your usual condescending mood today. He had one injury that kept him out for a couple of months. Before that he was playing ever game, and played most of Salisbury's games the season before he joined us. So he doesn't have a history of bad injuries or fitness problems. If you only want to sign players that have never been injured you may struggle to find that many. If you want a discussion about whether to offer him a contract based on football rather than fitness, he was an integral part of the first two thirds of the season and dragged us back into a good few games (Gateshead home being an example) when we looked like we might lose. Well if you want to be 'condescending' I would've thought that you would've remembered he had 2 injuries to the same knee, or at least someone judged him 'fit' after his first injury (perhaps they were using your scientific judgement of 'fit'?). The number of games he missed last season suggests that we should Well that was injury. Anyone can get an injury. But he's a supremely physically fit player. He does the fitness coaching.
