Give him a blank cheque.
Okay, maybe not quite... But DC has said he's aiming for back-to-back promotions and signing Chris permanently has to be his number one priority now. Changed our whole team dimension since coming home and he's been the difference in most games. I think, for next season, it's absolutely pivotal he's here in August.

He was a class above anybody else on the pitch.

He was a class above anybody else on the pitch. My thoughts exactly. Stood out in what was generally a below average team performance. He seems to ghost past players, without looking like he's running quickly - similar to Mickey Barrett in that respect. It was telling that Grimsby finished the stronger in the last 10 minutes when Linesy was out on his feet. What a gamble DC made by keeping him on. Ollie Clarke was ready to come on, and as Chris had been down with cramp a couple of times I felt sure he would be substituted. But he saw through the game and the gamble paid off. By not carrying out that substitution DC made a decision that was two-fold: Linesy could stay on and would be a banker for a penalty, and he could make the Mildenhall for Puddy switch right at the end. Even though Mildy didn't actually make a save it was a great piece of psychology.

Did have a feeling he was gonna make the keeper swap, particually the longer the game went on and Ledbitter (who would likely have been an option with his pace against a tired opposition) didn't come on.

We haven't seen the best of Lines I don't think. Those surging runs of his are almost Gerrardish in their execution. I'd like to see him step up a level and take the game by the scruff of the neck and make the midfield his own. He seems to be holding back and he often unselfishly plays the ball to a teammate when he's in a better position himself. When Sinclair returns it might give him a more forward role. Could be a good midfield duo in the making there.

The problem was Lines kept dropping deeper as the game went on because of the way The Fishermen tracked him But who cares who did what and when Bristol Rovers are now a football league team and the f***ing official !

Yesterday was redemption.
Gone are the memories of the arrogant kid letting Stu Campbell bust a gut for him. Now we think of the mature centre midfielder who dictates the pace of the game.
As long as we aren't throwing mad money around, sign him on.

The hard work starts here now I think. Do we need to replace Monkhouse and Mansell? Do we have enough cover in defence? Do we need a genuine pacey wide player? Do we need some genuine strikers? What about the Youth set up, what happens to the vacancy created by Phil Kite's retirement. Me thinks there is an awful of of recruitment needed to ensure re-establishing ourselves as a league club, let alone aim for further promotions. Lets hope that Darrell's budget is calculated and set...so he can get to work straight away.

Darrell Did say that his planning for next season has already started for both league & Non-league outcomes I think Monkhouse may want to go back to his family "up North" so yes maybe a change there Easter & Balenta may well be moved on so some changes in that department as well Would like to see a new winger but not sure if Dawson or LDV are what DC Wants

I presume Easter will have to prove his fitness. If fit and trim he should be more than capable of holding his own in league 2.
I really don't understand what Balanta gives to the team at all. Yes he scored a very good penalty yesterday but was not in the actual game at all.
Puddy inspires no confidence in me at all. Good back up. Yes Mansell and Monkhouse may need replacing. We should try and keep Lines here, thought he was outstanding yesterday.

Some talk around me at the game yesterday was the beard may go to FGR..... i thought these guys had been on the wine to much, but one of them was mates with the beard brother@FGR I hope not though and DC offers him a new contract

Linesy (if he's here) roaming beyond Beard and Manse with Ellis, Taylor and Easter in front. The three strikers more than capable of drifting wide successfully.

Why would we need to replace Manse? He still has at least 2 quality seasons of football league left in him, love how he's been a 7/10 in nearly every single game, Monkhouse has been the same although i think Monky has probably just the 1 season left in him. Both superb pros who have been a major part of the dramatic improvement in team spirit, love how they haven't been sicknotes and if you look at there stats on soccerbase have both got through 40 plus games a season for the last 7 seasons on the trot now. Vital that they both stay and the mistakes Trollope made aren't repeated.
