This season sees the sixtieth anniversary of the 4-0 win over Matt Busby's Mancester United. The closest match to the anniversary is Barnet away. After the success of the Print That B*****d fundraising campaign I'll be holding another collection later in the season to raise funds for a banner to celebrate the sixtieth anniversary of that famous day.

I sincerely hope that you will be having an indepth consultation period regarding the wording on the banner. After all it's very easy to upset a b'stard or two on here.

Perhaps I could suggest something like ' We beat the b'stards 4 nil, 4 nil.... '

Also worth remembering it's the 60th anniversary of Geoff Bradford's sole England cap in October.

I can't believe City got away with having the Wedlock Stand for some long. Anti-b'stard agenda.

All joking aside I was thinking something along the lines of "The £110 team with the million dollar touch of class" to quote the express at the time. Any ideas considered.

We failed to celebrate the 25th anniversary of championship win in 1990 .....so 60 years of beating Busby Babes seems unlikely even still

Alfie Biggs, Bill Roost, George Petherbridge and Josser Watling were there sadly ten years on just Josser left
A programme was done including reprint of original 1956 issue plus coffee mugs and glasses I still have mine
Kim Stuckey showed some pathe news footage of Rovers of that era ..sadly pathe did not cover actual match ..they did not spot a GIANT KILLING

I wasn't unfortunately. I'll get the banner sorted for Barnet away and it'll be at the home game after that as well. Going to start banner funds so such anniversaries don't just go by with nothing.

Nice to see some more Gas banners/flags about these days, something a little different from the usual St George's effort is always good!
Just a shame the barmy flags website don't do a quartered template! But still, the Busby Babes victory one should be an absolute gem!

What would the current buns headline be today?
- Red devils put to the sword by swashbuckling pirates?
