Although the win and three points were very welcome I couldn’t help thinking that Crawley looked like ‘ a team’ whereas we just looked like eleven blokes roped together in the car park half an hour before kick off and asked if they all fancied a game of football on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Where abouts in car park? Just asking for a friend next match..

I don't know is answering your question honestly! But I look back to when we beat Blackpool in 2020 under BG, which was a spawny win. Alfie hit a wind assisted thunder shot, and jml deflected a goal in but apart from that it was all Blackpool. The difference is, I do see a passion there.... Taylor was immense in defence, the keeper is on form....... it's not exact analogy, but I have more faith in today's squad and direction because many of them have performed well elsewhere. Whether they can integrate here is a different matter. Whether we`ve got a manager capable of putting it all together, is open to debate too. The one truly impressive performance I`ve seen under B*****, was the first 45 minutes against Oldham.
The game should have been over by half time. Second half, Oldham manager changes his tactics, and his team start getting a foothold in the game. B***** didn`t attempt to change things to restore our playing advantage, and two points could easily have been needlessly lost. As of yet, I`ve seen very little in our manager to place my trust. I agree! Does he have the nous to check his starting gambit? To add....we were 4 goals down at Exeter before he made changes. Too late. He seems fixated with a change at half time, which he did to his credit yesterday as it reaped immediate rewards. The players and management team are in transition. It's an ongoing process but v Crawley we were lucky winners as opposed to so often being unlucky losers...

Just to say I received my gift pack, season ticket (albeit late for start of season!) in time for Crawley match, gained entry with no problems at all!
Everyone around me had similar experience.
Well done the club for bringing us more into the 21st century where not all clubs at this level will be as technologically advanced.

Bambi:
As I'm a gentleman, I'll indulge and refresh your off topic mind:
Aug 8th 2018: From o s:
"The club can confirm that MintBet will not be on the back of shirt for our 46 League games this season as the new partner has donated the asset to the Bristol Rovers Community Trust.
The limited edition match worn shirts will be used to raise funds for great causes across the city.
The Bristol Rovers Community Trust engages with 3,800 individuals a week on a variety of projects from social inclusion to disability sports.
MintBet will continue to support the club next season as a headline partner and will remain on all replica and cup kits and will also be a training wear sponsor for the upcoming season.
Everyone at the club would like to thank MintBet for their continued support and we look forward to working with them over the course of the season."
All I would say is: context.
In context it wasn't a gross misconduct, so uncomfortably, yes (probably with a written warning).
Always a pleasure engaging.

Just got back... Well, well well...a win at the Mem with an unbeaten run, a clean sheet and a few noticeable performances. M o m definitely Stoke bloke, he helped his sometimes ponderous ball watching defenders so much and was everywhere along the back line. Second close m o m was Belshaw. For me, I've seen enough to be confident in his keeping abilities, command of area, shot stopping and general approach. He inspires confidence. Distribution sometimes goes amiss, but by our standards I'm comfortable with his inclusion almost to the point of in front of Jaaks. Leon Clark is exactly the type of forward we've been yearning for since JCH departed....you can see he has quality with his first touch. Awesome size and it hides his ability. Encouraging start. Saunders running through everything. Some good positives. But ... Why are we so defensive v opponents that (until we invited them on to us with Nicholson going off) didn't offer much? Yes, they had their chances but I'm disappointed we we'rnt more attacking. Especially at home. Especially with our bench. Credit to players and management for carving out a win, excellent, every GasHead can enjoy their weekend with England and Gas win within a few days....bit I fear our mid field isn't pumping on full cylinders. Too many unforced errors, not enough movement when we have the ball up front (forcing us to play sideways then inevitably back) and very often left with counter attack of 6 left inside our own half. I'm still not sure about Coutts. (?) Evans I couldn't see any contribution except a great cross for Clarke goal. Grant broke up some play but his easy passing was frustratingly wayward. Nicholson anonymous. I'm not sure these all function as a team, rather than a series of individuals....we looked to have no gameplan when our mid was in possession, so often diagonally hoofed it to bypass... Hey a good win v injury ravished squad, we'll take that, but a lot of work to do in all areas to become a force in this division. Marking in our box. Passing and movement forward. Partnerships in attack. On to a very tough fixture up north ...a completely different proposition. UptheGas! Absolutely nailed it but my biggest frustration was seeing pro players just kick the ball out of play, when under no real pressure or pass it into space where none of our players were and because we only had Clark up top. Amateurish doesn’t cover it. Give him time I hear but do these players have the requisite talent to play as a unit or is B***** telling them to play as they are ? Either way it was awful and people left with no buzz as most know it was a jammy win. I don't know is answering your question honestly! But I look back to when we beat Blackpool in 2020 under BG, which was a spawny win. Alfie hit a wind assisted thunder shot, and jml deflected a goal in but apart from that it was all Blackpool. Very few occasions though. It was embarrassing in how we we staying back and not pushing forward and I thought the ref gave us most of the decisions also. The pitch was superb but we haven’t got a team worthy of it. That was the worst part of it for me. The negative tactics after we went one nil up, were painful to watch. You`d have thought we were away to PSG. Agree! To use a euro equivalent, we were at the Scotland match being England back in June....

Should the club give a commitment that all the profit raised by the 50/50 draw will continue to go directly to the Academy and not be allowed to disappear into Rovers financial abyss ? That's a good question. And probably to the heart of the issue. Control as to where the funds are deployed.

Facts still not answered! ...but then that suits the rhetoric of the posts. Choosing to ignore them doesn't make them go away. Unfortunately, with the amount of mud thrown around on false ideas that just aren't true and never were, it doesn't stick with folk whom can see the club has done something positive regarding 50/50 volunteers. That you can't even acknowledge! Haha! I'm back to dear oh deary me .. What are you babbling on about? Eventually, belatedly, some of the original sellers are back in some of the original posts. It's for your side of this to explain why there was any interruption at all. We are supposed to have moved in to a new era of communication, if getting in touch with those volunteers wasn't an afterthought then why wasn't it broadcast on social media etc, here we go, I'll knock it up right now, it'll take literally seconds. ''Please be advised that there will not be any 50/50 ticket or programme sales undertaken by SC volunteers for a short period whilst we put in place new systems. We value those volunteers who have given their time to support the club and will be meeting with them shortly after the new season commences to agree with them how we can best work together to ensure that they are involved on match days and that you are still able to purchase your programmes and 50/50 tickets. We'll update you again in the very near future''. First, very rough draft, took maybe 45 seconds to write. Splosh that onto social media and the official site, email as many of the volunteers as they have contact info for asking them to get in touch with any other match day volunteers that they know, give them a point of contact in case they have questions. It ain't hard. Now, about these outstanding questions that you appear to be struggling with; Should the MintBet fiasco have resulted in someone losing their job? It's not difficult, just consider, would you personally continue to employ someone who made that mistake, then reply with a Yes or a No. Then we can move on to who you wish to disqualify from purchasing half time draw tickets. Some sort of clarification, I suppose. "Eventually, belatedly some of the original sellers are back in some of the original posts"....yep, that's about right, thanks for the courtesy of addressing my point, but they were not mistreated as other threads have implied, and your comment is fair. It appears some of your post is now referring to poor communication, the 45 seconds of money shot. We (you and I) know little about this with regards to behind the scenes (in)activity. I think TG, JC and maybe a few others are in the know about this.....for instance in Waels letter, he refers to SC not replying to his multiple attempts to contact them. Perhaps, I'm just guessing, the unfortunate outcome of all this resulted in poor communication to the 50/50 tellers? That would make sense to me. Mintbet.... what's it to do with 50/50 ticket sellers? What is it good for? Absolutely nothing! Oh, hang on here BambiColumbo, I think you might have something here..... there's absolutely nothing wrong with anyone buying a ticket from any walk of life, dignitaries of the club, convicts, past convicts, even c*ty'82 lot but when transparency is lost I think it's only fair to ask questions. Ergo (not on the back of that, a lot more) the 50/50 is being brought in house. What's wrong with that?

Haha! Na, I thought not. Volunteers haven't been treated poorly by the club, in FACT quite the opposite! They were recognised for their endeavours and offered the same positions working for the club, not JC.... that's a fact. The funding for 50/50 has been taken in house now. Where 4 or 5 seasons ago there wasn't a half time announcement or draw to how much was won (on a Mickey Mouse match) on 50/50 and it was later discovered, after prompting, who won jackpot?... surprise surprise a SC dignitary did! Wtf!? So it's been withdrawn from SC.... that's a fact. Interesting what you call incorrect supposition, is indeed, fact!? Your posts (in this thread) were at best premature and prejudicial, and at worst disingenuous. ...and poor attempt at distraction with something called MB. I think I've got a replica shirt with that on.... another marketing genius from maestro TG there....it inspired me to buy one! It's a limited edition! Oh I see, so at what level of hierarchy should SC officials be barred from purchasing tickets? No doubt you want to ban sales in the executive boxes as well, just in case a club official buys a winning ticket. When I knew the numbers involved they were, in broad terms, with 1800~2000 ticket sales, between 300~400 would be sold in the Box area. Another piece of marketing genius from the club's supporters. Poor attempts at humour to brush over what happened with MintBet. OK, if that's all you have. Facts still not answered! ...but then that suits the rhetoric of the posts. Choosing to ignore them doesn't make them go away. The thread is about 50/50 ticket sellers. I honestly don't know is the direct answer to your question. (I'm not being evasive, I genuinely don't know the timing or why it's important....I suspect it's more important to your post's to ramp up the anti agenda, but that's only my supposition) Care to answer my questions? When you start off stating an incorrect supposition as fact you aren't getting any answers to your loaded questions. Sorry. Now, what about this Mintbet situation, this is a simple one, the person responsible for that should have lost their job. Do you agree? It just struck me, you think I'm on board with the SC in their battles with the FC. Nope, not at all, the SC are architects of their own downfall and the volunteers are innocent casualties, caught in the crossfire. That's why I'm angry with the FC, getting those helpers back on board looks very much like an afterthought. If it was part of the overall strategy it would have been planned through summer and they would have been there for the pre-season games, as they always have been. Haha! Na, I thought not. Volunteers haven't been treated poorly by the club, in FACT quite the opposite! They were recognised for their endeavours and offered the same positions working for the club, not JC.... that's a fact. The funding for 50/50 has been taken in house now. Well that is certainly ill informed one sided opinion. Probably an opinion that is unlikely to change. It's a shame, because there is sometimes a different story: Criticism about treating volunteers stalwarts of the club, heart and soul, best thing since sliced bread etc etc turn out to be completely unfounded, don't they? TG met most, if not all (as was invited) and professionally recognised also personally thanked them for their help and hard work, and offered most if not all the chance to continue. Just, under the club's patronage, not the JC club or SC as it's better known. The 50/50 volunteers are pretty much back in their place. Mostly. One even said not much has changed but they're doing it under the club's guidance now, not SC.......begs the question, if you like politics, why? So, whilst I'm disappointed in your postings on this and other thread, I'm not surprised. It's wound up and cranked up the anti club rhetoric, and fuelled more bs because the plain facts are: The volunteers haven't been mistreated at all or publicly humiliated, in fact the opposite is true and because they've been recognised as doing an important job, the club has taken them under their wing offering in house and club employment....and what's wrong with that? Dear oh dear.. Well, riddle me this, if he possessed even the organisational abilities of a hedgehog why didn't he have that meeting with them during the summer and have them in place, making money for the club on that Saturday? Dear oh dear indeed. But hey, why are we surprised, Mintbet anybody? Or is that just 'Anti-club rhetoric as well? The thread is about 50/50 ticket sellers. I honestly don't know is the direct answer to your question. (I'm not being evasive, I genuinely don't know the timing or why it's important....I suspect it's more important to your post's to ramp up the anti agenda, but that's only my supposition) Care to answer my questions?

Barrow a - should get something EMPEROR SUPERBUS WAS RIGHT Crawley relegation candidates h - we will win EMPEROR SUPERBUS WAS RIGHT Pool a - toughie, but why not a draw Orient h - covid victims Harrogate went there and won, so a home win Walsall relegation candidates a - we will win Swindon h - doesn’t bear thinking about losing, there will be loads of aggression to Ben and lots of pro B***** support in this noisy derby fixture, I predict win Carlisle a - why not at least point 7 unbeaten in league taking 15 from 21 points. With that squad, top 3 for sure, Rovers will just get stronger and stronger with each month of the season, opponents just don’t have depth of squad and quality we have. Throwing new team together was going to take time to gel. 2 off play offs already quite quick really. Promotion. Unless there is a black swan, something crazy like it’s really got going and we sack the architect and manager of the promotion push. Congratulations on 2/7, ESB.. Before a ball is kicked, I think most would take a point up there next.....

What a mess. Just upset and confusion for the sake of it. We have our loyal, dedicated group left to try to promote sales that benefit nobody but the FC whilst certain locations which have traditionally been areas where tickets have sold well are now apparently out of bounds. Why? Because Gorringe couldn't organise getting himself drunk in a brewery. Seriously, what's wrong with the bloke? Huge thanks to the foot soldiers who are ignoring the politics and doing what they've always done, keeping their heads down and just getting on with supporting the club in the best way they can. Well that is certainly ill informed one sided opinion. Probably an opinion that is unlikely to change. I know many (including me) that have been abused.
Just to be clear, I'm not condoning any form of abuse, unless it's directed to c*ty82, but unfortunately the sort of abuse I incur isn't deemed racial or homophobic or transphobic so therefore isn't worth a w@nk...

A tough match. Not by any means a gimme.
Welcome back Millwall Tone, a true roll sleeves up hero for us.....a milder welcome back to TN as I wish him no harm but it just didn't work out consistently enough for many. Although haven't seen his name on team sheet last few matches?
We definitely look more threatening and balanced with a starting front 2. Collins and Saunders (my personal favourite so far as his running engine and finishing looks good early doors, closely followed by Anderson)..... please start with that!
If England can revert to a back 4 when need be, why can't we? Sometimes to negate a flank threat, we should hold that in our armoury..... something to consider in near future matches.
I'm liking Belly in goal. Obviously speedy recovery to Jaaks, but for me early indications Belly is more than competent atm.
All in all, a moderately encouraging transfer window. We've shelved the correct players i m o. A blend of youth and experience. It shows potential, I am enthusiastic but we need to get key players on form so looking forward to contributions from Coutts, Pitman and Hughes.
I'll predict for a tough, hard earned 2-0 win. A goal in each half. Saunders & Anderton. 6767 attendance. Many swills on board!
Enjoy the game, Gas...

Totally agree with the passing game. Sumptuous to watch.....but there's a huge difference between Gazza whom loves the game throughout, and Barrel that just couldn't get fit but was happy taking a wage for 18months. Begone. Utter disaster. JAB definitely made the right decision in getting rid....or was it TW ? Hmmmmm ... 🤔 No doubt it’s currently B***** in complete utter control. But is it like the end of Lawrence Of Arabia where the Brits just sit quietly in the background, until it’s utter disgrace before they resume control again? It depends how much and to what depth of an utter disgrace our leader is prepared to put up with.
