Just got back..
Took a diversion at some point to see how the Mem was getting on in absence for one reason or another.
Hahaha one bar not ready to serve, no problem....the other bar served, but till inoperative so had to hopscotch around to find one that was! Both issues soon rectified, but shabby. So.....no change in my absence then!
We swiftly moved on. Dear oh dear!
Anyhoos, onto something less important:
Kinda told you so pre match, but I'm not the kind of person to say that!? Hey no shame in getting your @rses handed back to you from time to time by a club with upwardly momentum. No complaints. Fair result, we got what we deserved - I kinda thought we would - and we'll done them for a masterclass in where we want to be to compete for promotion and the league below the elite.
We have a long way to go.
I can't say anyone played without heart and intentions.... captain, great to have him back played poor for me, too many displaced balls and unforced errors.
2 of the goals were gifted possession.
And it looked like it should have been suspiciously another as 4 loomed with a goal line scrambler that looked over the line at one point.
A shame JM couldn't have pulled one back with our one and only clear cut chance, but there you go wasn't to be and we move on.... quickly.
Trying to rifle up the Derby in the Souf Stand? Also, in East Stand boxes a bit of shenanigans ... Pitiful really, but gave 30 seconds of popcorn entertainment if you indulge in that sort of thing....but again, where was the stewarding? Just as pitiful, it looked from distance...
To conclude: Their game plan worked well, we were soundly beaten without no redress. I wouldn't be surprised if they went up champions on this performance and I've just seen the best team this season.

Tough tough challenge today.
Whilst there's every chance we can play well and get something out the game, I fear the lack of continuity in defence will be our downfall.
It's so frustrating that (it feels like) every match we start, someone gets injured or disciplined so they can't start the next match?
So, for me, our inconsistent line up will mirror our inconsistent form - win last week, lose this.
Not feeling it I'm afraid: 0-2 Fullish Mem. Injury bingo.
See some of you soon on the Road for you know what!?
Enjoy the day your way.... UptheGas!

Welcome to March's, and penultimate prediction month.
Everyone welcome!
With little more to play for apart from pride and jostling on the beach, perhaps our inconsistencies will be further exposed?
One thing to definitely keep in mind is the impending tinternationals, will it affect your judgement?
Players sick, injured, non motivated and disciplined v providing opportunity for more motivated second string players, out of positioners and the weather with March winds and the mad March hares, taking a breath(!) ....there's always a lot to unfangle without even contributing factors from referees and journeys (according to bg).
But after much digression, ultimately the question remains..... How many points accrued for March?
Saturday 2nd March LEAGUE ONE Leyton Orient 0 15:00 Bristol Rovers 1
Saturday 9th March LEAGUE ONE Bristol Rovers 0 15:00 Derby County 3
Tuesday 12th March LEAGUE ONE Fleetwood Town 0 19:45 Bristol Rovers 0
Saturday 16th March LEAGUE ONE Lincoln City 5 15:00 Bristol Rovers 0
Saturday 23rd March LEAGUE ONE Bristol Rovers p 15:00 Reading p
Friday 29th March LEAGUE ONE Port Vale 2 15:00 Bristol Rovers 0
6 matches to ponder. A virtual St Paddy to the winner(s). A virtual having a Paddy to the loser(s)..

I have no idea. I always follow MDT but now do not really have the club as a priority. Prices, treated like punters and poor football and lack of ambition has sen my interest wane. I do not even go to tote end nights now as I will not be defined by the club I follow. I know a fair few others who feel the same. Some , just a little success could change this. Just read your post and it made me wonder what is success for Rovers ? judged over last 25 or 30 years staying in the 3rd tier would seem to be successful. 10 years ago I dreamt of seasons like this.... almost total security in the third tier with nothing to play for in the League. 20 years before I dreamt of a home in Bristol, preferably north. Preferably, with a few roofs. What the hell have I got to complain about or anyone else under the age of 30?

That's a good post. He limped off yesterday to a good round of applause and now transpires he's got a dead leg .... It feels like every match we go into, we come out with at least one injury or discipline problem hampering our consistency and progress. Very frustrating. ...Regular first teamers not being available gives those on the fringes an opportunity. Up to them to grab it with both hands and make themselves undroppable He did, he is... So far, so good..👍

Just got back.. Not the first time Carlisle has contributed to beating Carlisle!? I just wonder, with a little tweaking, not much, how much we could have achieved this season? Allowing poor teams to dominate and gain confidence, we rarely start well. But I get that the sprint marathon cliché, it's just we do make things difficult on ourselves..... going 1-0 down - deservedly, fair play to them - giving ourselves a huge task and more risk, well I do wonder what could have been if it was tweaked? But in keeping, this is a topsy turvy season and nothing would truly surprise.... credit where it's due, we came from behind and most the team after 30 mins contributed to a hard earned win. My m o m Jervani Brown. If 2 assists, one sublime lead up, that could have been 3 if not post was hit doesn't earn your accolade (apart from scoring), I don't know what would? Also, isn't it great seeing 2 strikers linking? A few more times his intended passes to CM were intercepted last minute but great to see. But in essence, the team was the m o m. Conteh hardly put foot wrong and even made one amazing timely tackle. Sincs was ever present threat and scored a spectacular. Hunt got forward and created space. Gordon contributed on the left. Ward made a double point blank saviour of saves and punched well. Commanded his area well And if course, CM made himself a handful and all he ever done was scored goals!? Going into the match, we had so many key players and managers out, so to put into context our difficulties within the parameters of the win, you have to give credit. Well done everyone involved. On another note....no team in our table changed position after this weekend's round of matches!? Incredible! It’s about time Brown started to deliver, we took a punt on him when many in our league would have given him a wide berth, lets hope the form he delivered against Carlisle continues. That's a good post. He limped off yesterday to a good round of applause and now transpires he's got a dead leg .... It feels like every match we go into, we come out with at least one injury or discipline problem hampering our consistency and progress. Very frustrating.

In a topsy turvy month, the virtually veritable Cupid falls at Blue Mist's door, and I hope everyone will congratulate and wish well for a fine thought out prediction of 3 wins!?
Well done!
As for the rest, some were closer than others and spare a thought for bloody Scott Sinclair rolling back the years having a lot to answer for for the snatching defeat in the jaws of victory for Bamber Kp?! Better luck next time..

What could possibly go wrong playing a team off form in relegation zone without a win for so long?
Um... We seem to be good at breaking runs of form!
Watch this Jordan fella, I wouldn't mind him here. They're fighting for their lives, not an easy encounter. And I see they'll probably be raising their game more than we will....so it's time for manager and coaches to earn their hard earned.
I would love to see a young un start.
Tricky encounter. I'll plump for a scrappy draw. 1-1 (but would never be surprised if it was goalless). CM appears to be the main threat, but we'll see if anyone else fancies a shot on target.
Enjoy your match your way.... UptheGas!

Technically we should have been in a better position because before the takeover Dwane were owed 10 million and it seems likely Nationwide were owed 5 million but subsequently 7 million was put in as share capital. I think that 7 million was calculated to meet the EFL owners test and intended to cover two years projected cash requirements. But who did the projections ? Were the projections based on increased revenue from higher attendances due to the South Stand when in fact attendances have fallen ? Did they include the extra costs associated with getting planning approval for the South Stand ? Did the projections make any allowance for the cost of paying off B***** and his staff and bringing in replacements ? Did they account for the 700K debt to “ key management personnel” and if this was owed to Eddy Jennings for player commissions had it been settled by the time of his departure ? Was the projected revenue from asset sales accurately calculated or was Collins’ value overstated ? If the projections were wrong and the cash needs are much greater than expected then the 7 million may possibly run out by the end of this year. In which case we’ll need another equity injection in 2024. It doesn't look good does it then? So the owners will end up piling on more and more debt to improve the stadium and basically just keep injecting just enough cash to service the interest but not ever reducing the amount of debt. If success and increased revenue doesn't come within the three years, what happens then? The end of Bristol Rovers FC? Really looks bleak doesn't it? Sounds like an Interest only mortgage from the 90s...

Just got back... From an on off iFollow. Seen the 1st, 3rd & 4th goal....but after 35 mins it decided enough was enough until second half. In all honesty, it done me a favour as it was probably more frustrating watching that pile of drivel. No midfielders? No defence, morelike... first goal was again atrocious defending reminiscent of relegation season. We seem to not decide to play until the game is almost lost, but there again we are seeing beach players probably in the last embers of their Gas careers....MT post match comments allude to that....why not start some of them in flip flops or crocks? Crocks more apt. Some shining performances from afar. Really liked Vaughan, lively performance my m o m (!) Why not? Baggot looking useful, except when he took the shot off of Hunt after that mazy run. Decent assist. Keeper made some good saves. Our crossbar played a blinder too. One thing....nice one, ref!? I never realised a deliberate shirt pull in the pen area was ok? Also....if you stand still minding your own space and a player comes in over and above you and crashes you to the ground - you're the one who's committed the foul!? Absolute numpty. If it wasn't for CM we'd be in the sh!t....I still tip him to make 20 goals in this very unforgettable season. At the end of the day, not good enough. Again. MT subs did affect change but we rightly got beat by the better team. MT says change is in air as unacceptable conceding goals in that fashion. We'll see. My point is .... If it isn't the right time to blood some of your own now, when is it? Too many senior players aren't turning up.... Wilson Crama Grant poor. Why not mix it up with Connolly back and Lawrence Jones and Greenslade? I honestly wonder what we would have to lose? Hope I am very wrong but I do not feel MT will stay, not if we continue in this vein and with junior sticking his oar in. IF I bet, I’d stick 50 on Taylor leaving Good point. I think I'd stretch to a whole £1 myself though.

Rovers are getting points where we don't expect them to, and dropping them when they shouldn't. So tough to call. Bookies have it (roughly) as: Rovers slight favourites to win at 6-4 Draw 5-2 Cobblers win 7-4 A stronger mentality was on view Stevenage... hopefully we're going to get harder to beat. I'll go for a 1-1 draw. I certainly wouldn't be rushing to back us at 6/4. One of those games where no result would surprise me. Agreed. Welcome back, ggwumi! 😋

Latest bet365 odds are:
Northampton Town 13/8. Draw 13/5. Gas 31/20.
Indication not much in it.
Other places to spend your vice money, and bet irresponsibly or not at all.

For the sake of those cunning 3 at the end of the line, you know you are (!) I so wish for a Gas win today.
But I fear for something else. Probably more humiliating.
Battle of the injuries today, difficult to see if the square pegs in round holes will have a positive influence, and they'll be after us because of recent history going against them.
I expect a physical, gamesmanship like challenge. Beachy head says Lose by odd goal. 1-0.
Happy with a draw from this one before a pigs bladder is kicked.
