Over 7k,higher than all of the league 2 gates today & nearly 2k more than league 1 Yeovil, fair play to Grimsby who came down in their numbers, it's not all bad in League 3!

Gas 2,I personally don't care about the BBC, it is after all a shadow of what it once was & I don't even bother to check the local rubbish they dish out, as even nationally they have fallen way behind alternative media outlets like SKY.

Excellent crowd, well done to Grimsby as well who brought a superb following for a team a long way from home. Considering game was on TV what a brilliant effort by both sets of fans.

Good attendance and with c### taking less than 800 to Sheffield we will prove that although we are not the biggest club in Bristol we do have the most loyal support especially when we travel.

Our support today is stunning, 7000+ for a Conference game is brilliant, it's almost like when Man U were relegated many years ago and gave every club in the 2nd Division a massive lift because of the sheer numbers who travelled with them and filed Old Trafford for home games. UTG

UTG Now come on mate, the support is very good agreed but Man Utd were getting forty odd thousand for home games and taking thousands away...mind you in percentage terms maybe we take more to away games ?

Just a quick hello from a Mariner who visited you guys today.
Firstly yes it was a hell of a crowd, well done for getting so many out there. Can I ask were there any ticket offers or was it just a case of mobilizing your support excellenty? And Crazytrain may be dissapointed with 400 fans travelling but... early kick off, other side of the country and game on the telly 400 is a pretty decent turnout, and you will be very dissapointed with away fan turnout in general at this level.
However main reason for invading your forum to post is just to say what a nice day out I had, the game wasn't great really but I met quite a few gasheads and everyone I met was really nice and friendly and had a good chat with. I hope we will be as welcoming in Feb!
All the best!

Let's see what we get in a few weeks when there are no kids offers on. Can't judge anything on the first game which is always well attended. More boring games like today won't encourage some to come back sadly.

No I agree but relatively we will be great for other Conference clubs, just as Man U were for the 2nd Division all those years ago...and look where they ended up after their set back!

As you say 400 is decent for an early kick off with lots still on holiday.

The opening poster said you came down in numbers. 300/400 I wouldn't say is coming down in numbers but is a good away following under the circumstances. it was a good, even game for a league opener I thought. It's going to be a long, hard season. .

I thought there were a lot more than 400 Grimsby. Fair play to them, especially bearing in mind it was an early kick off. I think Telford will bring a good following in two weeks as well.

Cheers for letting us know about the kids offer, even with that though 7,000 is an excellent effort.
Just checked GTFC website, apparently we took 452 in total.
And Crazytrain I understand what you mean, but deffo a heads up for you guys; you will have a lot of very low away gates! It is what I find most depressing about this level.
Once again best for the season and look forward to seeing you in Feb.

Great support today. Looking forward to Barnet on Tuesday. With so many new grounds to check off, IMO Rovers will travel in large numbers. UTG
