Good grief, what a shambles of a thread. It's taken me two days to wade through this lot. Anyway according to those in the know, I think D-Day is at hand and there will be someone else to moan about. Just for the record if any of the previous board incumbents are involved. Saturday will be the last ever Bristol Rovers match I ever watch.
Anyway Merry Christmas one and all.
Kind regards

Judging by their past record, if any of that lot are involved there won't be many more games for any of us to watch.

Fanatical- read again. I was defending Gorringe. He has a commercial brain. The ground he has to extract commercial revenue from is a Mecanno set. Stop spoiling for a fight. Not interested. Welcome to the world of forums where people are incapable of reading what's actually written and just shoot off on a tangent replying to things that were never said. Just you wait until Blue Oyster Cult Butterfly Bloke sets his radar on you Anyway, how's the petition going? I have a pitchfork, large adjustable spanner and flaming torch sat here, just say the word. I think you need to get over yourself a little bit.

Their tent solution was a lot classier, mind.

Fire, police and council officers held an emergency meeting at Bristol Rovers’ Memorial Stadium this morning [yesterday presumably] to thrash out confusion over the issue of safety certificates for two new stands. And tonight Bristol City Council and the club confirmed the stands will be fully operational. BP site: www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/bristol-rovers-new-stands-operational-2075982From OS: In response to reports in the local press, the Club can confirm that both the Meade King South-West Stand and the Bristol Energy Family Stand will be operational for Saturday's fixture against Walsall. A Bristol City Council spokesperson said; “After meeting with the club today, the Council can confirm that the necessary safety certificates required to use the new stands are in place for this weekend. We have worked very closely with the club to ensure fans continue to enjoy matches safely and we are confident with the arrangements in place. "The Club and the Council, through the SAG, have developed an excellent working relationship and have worked closely together to ensure the fans continue to enjoy matches safely at the Memorial Stadium."

So you were defending Tom while having a go at the owners - why have a go at anyone who has put into the Club - you may be entitled depending how you answer my question "what do you or have you done for Bristol Rovers? And if you can do better - why don't you? " Not spoiling for a fight at all - just interested to know what gives you the right to criticize anybody at the Club?

Fair play to Rovers, first time we've built something before seeking planning permission. A bold new move.

Another good laugh..
On a football forum, being asked,
"What gives you the right to criticize anyone?" So don't moan.
But it's all right to walk away and never go again if we have new owners involving the old regime.
Personally I would never let anyone in the Board Room stop me from supporting Rovers. Owners are just custodians - nothing more, open to criticism. Personal opinion.
I thought we had established that as a modus operandi for a forum.
What gives Stevek the right to criticize DC's tactics and selections? Because he has an opinion.
FFS.

I may not agree with the way you go about it, but I do agree that you have as much right as anyone else to support, criticise or critique the Board in which ever way you feel as long as its not abusive or illegal. It's an internet forum not a university debating room where you might need to find a safe space if you are hurt by criticism. We should all be mature enough to argue robustly. If someone is offended perhaps this is not the place for them....

I don't know why everyone is getting so worked up about old Board members.
Here's an exclusive: It's not Con Stevens.

Wasn't Swiss Gas a former director from mid-80s?
It's not him though.

Sounds like typical Gorringe, everything he touches seems to go wrong somehow. What is your agenda against Gorringe, or is ambition a dirty word amongst the old psychophants? The bloke is literally employed to increase revenue and reduce waste, and as far as I can tell he is covering his remit admirably. Professionalism, something that was lacking at Rovers for three decades, is not a dirty word. Ambition is great but it has to be tempered and he has totally shown a lack of respect for people who have blue and white quarters in their blood. He is like an untrained puppy, getting into everything but not showing any understanding for not just people but tradition. I have no problem with ambition but his twitter makes him sound like he is already top dog. He certainly has no ego problems. In the short time he has been here, he has certainly managed to raise the hackles of a good many. All these experts and we can’t seem to even get our tents up properly. You HAVE to laugh. In fact I was pissing myself laughing when it came to my attention. On a side note, the metal steps leading up to the SW stand are bloody lethal when it’s wet and if not for some quick thinking fellow supporters then I’d have gone down. The steps really need some rubber covers.
