What is your agenda against Gorringe, or is ambition a dirty word amongst the old psychophants? The bloke is literally employed to increase revenue and reduce waste, and as far as I can tell he is covering his remit admirably. Professionalism, something that was lacking at Rovers for three decades, is not a dirty word. All I've done is comment on mistakes made. That's not an agenda, it's an observation. Yes, I agree, professionalism is lacking. But as with unanswered questions on another thread, Bambi, you choose not to comment on some things that are far from mistakes. That's an agenda..

Open, closed is not the issue.
The Stand is an embarrassment. The fact that Waq Shack was erected without planning permission is frankly hilarious.
Who needs a petition when you have Agent BCC?
Better take it down I say and give it to a community project.
The Waq Shack is dead: long live the UWE.

Let's hope the uwe is more watertight than the shelter for the new stands..

What worries me is whether he's wasting opportunities. It's not personal, I'm sure he's a lovely bloke etc etc. I've moaned enough about his cards not being integrated, people in the car park with pockets shoved full of cash, today's farcical news etc etc, so, for balance, you are right, he has done some good work; The 'Step Up' video was brilliant. Shame he didn't build on it, but the concept was fantastic, I said at the time that it was PL quality marketing. I'm told that the bars are better. I don't enjoy the company of drunk people so don't use them, but it sounds as if there's an improvement there. And? Remind me of other positives and I'll happily acknowledge them, no problem whatsoever. * Can't bring myself to put the retail outlet on a list of positives, the layout and presentation are so poor, it's dreadful, pitiful in fact.

How long has he been here? A year maybe?
He's brought in more revenue with sponsors than any year in our history. I'm not just talking about Football index (which was record breaking), I also refer to sponsors of both new stands, and South Stand paying more.
You see the Thatchers End extended the whole length of the terrace? You think that was done for free..?
Oh, remember the player of year award? Yep, that little ditty in millennium hosted by Lyndsay Hipgrave. A thoroughly professional presentation envied by our rivals which was roundly acknowledged as a huge success. It increased our profile, encouraged sponsors to feel part of a club that can handle large corporate events. Hmmmm I guess that might just have fell in TG lap?
Maybe so.
All with retaining over 100 1883members.... you can work that revenue out for yourself.
You do have valid points, I'm not ignoring that, just earlier in this thread I said I thought you were being unfair.
I still think that. Cut the guy some slack FFS, he's turning things around..

He does appear to be involved in a lot of cock ups though, that cannot be denied. Great end of season award dinner though. How much did the club make? That sounds like a loaded question. Go on then, I'll bite, how much money was made? I believe it's rhetorical as there was a suggestion on the other forum that Gorringe arranged for the awards to be held away from the mem therefore depriving the club of the income. That is from the other forum though so I stand to be corrected.

That is from the other forum though so I stand to be corrected. It can also be argued that holding it at the Mem would have enforced some staff to work. This was a celebration of Bristol Rovers hosting an event for staff and patrons. As I understand it, the whole evening was a resounding success.

Its all part of Bambers Hidden Agenda against authority at the club If that's the case it's a pointless agenda as I have no intention of convening any meetings and am not in a position to influence anything. Morning Bamber, how are you today

Morning Bamber, how are you today You sitting in the shop wasting time again? Hows about you start your day by looking up the meaning of the word Agenda? Went past at 2 minutes to 5 yesterday, shutters down. Come on, whose going to pay benefits to the Jeremy Kyle generation and all those immigrants if you sod off home early. To get back to the question, not sure how I am yet, what stories have you got to make my blood boil, Men called Karol, people having to label their own food in work fridges because of thieves? What ya got?

Not great that we aren't working out what the council want in advance, but at least something's happening with the site, that's good news.

Gorringe is not the problem. He was given no backing and had to find a supplier willing to buy into Tents R Us to fulfil the laudable objective of more seating. He found Bristol Energy who basically gave him ยฃ10k to build a structure to support less than 100 season-ticket holders. When the owners have no money to invest, no pride in their Stadium, you end up with crap. Maybe I have an agenda against the owners or I am calling out what the rest of Bristol see us as - Rag Ass Rovers. It's not Gorringe - a commercial brain equipped with a Mecanno set. You say Gorringe is given no backing, and he has a Mecanno set for a brain - and the owners have no money to invest and no pride I have to ask - what do you or have you done for Bristol Rovers? And if you can do better - why don't you?

Fanatical- read again.
I was defending Gorringe. He has a commercial brain. The ground he has to extract commercial revenue from is a Mecanno set.
Stop spoiling for a fight. Not interested.

Welcome to the world of forums where people are incapable of reading what's actually written and just shoot off on a tangent replying to things that were never said. Just you wait until Blue Oyster Cult Butterfly Bloke sets his radar on you Anyway, how's the petition going? I have a pitchfork, large adjustable spanner and flaming torch sat here, just say the word.

The online petition was never intended to force the owners.
Please do me a favour. I knew I had Bob Hope and No Hope of achieving anything through that route. It took 3 minutes to set up. As PP keeps saying and I have commented on, 50 invade the pitch, 200 boo from the terracing and the rest are having a pint in the Bar when it comes to protest.
It did light the fuse paper somewhat. Curly Wurly literally melted. ๐ It's what happens if you offer a choice. Football forums - a great sport for the 21st Century.
Rovers fans will soldier on accepting mediocrity, plus owners seem increasingly immune to fan hostility. See numerous clubs. Some of our supporters will be fiercely loyal and others delve into despair. Rich tapestry.
What fans can do is collaborate to ensure that decisions are scrutinised and held up for discussion, even ridicule. It maybe painful, but we normally get there in the end.
I am confident that we will have bigger things to chat about before the end of the month. But even that simple opinion will stir the scientists on the Forum.
The only thing that keeps me sane is that there my view on the Stand was shared by others and I stand by the inference that it's all over with the AlQs.

It sounds as if you almost understand why, when Hamer knocked you back, it became even more important that you pressed on with your supporter funding initiative. Now I'm beginning to think you never had any intention of actually doing anything #disappointed

Anyway, the embarrassment is with those that bought the twaddle about the club not having the right certificates in place.
Council have confirmed all ok for Saturday.

I donโt think the safety certificate situation was ever questioned Doc, the dispute is over the lack of planning permission which the club have applied for retrospectively. It looks like the council have allowed the club to continue to use the stands whilst the planning permission is decided which is sensible for all concerned.
