Very good. I took a look at the UWE stadium statement of last august the other day and it says: "We will now immediately turn our attention to exploring all other opportunities for a new stadium or for a substantive redevelopment of the Memorial Stadium, whilst at the same time continuing to develop the new Colony training ground." There's been so much negative spoken about the redevelopment of the Mem that seemingly nobody had noticed the bit about other opportunities for a new stadium. I hadn't seen it before I must admit. It was noticed but Steve Hamer has explicitly ruled out another site on more than one occasion. It's these kind of mixed messages that arouse suspicion and distrust. Can't be bothered to find the quote now, but we all know that they own a 'beautiful piece of land' already, etc etc etc. Not one new thing in that ''interview'' (pre-scripted statements with pre-prepared replies) apart from learning that a new player mistook him for a journo and then they went on a boat ride. I guess we hear what we want to hear? The apologists will think it was wonderful, people looking for facts to build trust upon will wonder what the point of it was?

Bored of it all now to be honest. Wael is very plausible and likable but again says a lot while saying very little. At the end of the day he will be judged on whether he delivers or not. Not sure I agree that people expect too much in a month when it's been 2 years and 1 since they bought the land at the Colony. Painfully slow going by anyone's measure just to get to square 1. Either way, there has to be some significant investment in the club's infrastructure soon. Another 6-12 months of saying these take time with no tangible progress isn't going to wash. Do you think we would of had this level of investment with the previous owners and do you think if we had they would have done it any faster ? But what has the "investment" actually achieved, if the ALQ's quit tomorrow and DC followed leading to us being relegated back to Div 2 would be in any better position than we were when they took over for the £12m+ they've apparently "invested" in the club? All we've really got to show for it is a Development Squad we'd probably have to disband anyway. Even the pitch needs a relaying again in the summer.

I have never doubted Waels ability to sound sincere and say all the right things, but I prefer to judge someone on what he has actually done over a two year period and not what he says he will do. Also can anyone answer why we have got a bottom six budget (as reported in todays post) a relatively small squad for this league as reported by DC, when our gates are in the top eight of all the clubs in this league and we have sold £600K worth of players in Taylor and Bodin ? Because DC says things depending on his mood and/or for other reasons
The other week he said we had a mid-table budget
"can anyone answer why we have got a bottom six budget......" Perhaps the answer is in the earlier post that spoke of an annual loss of TWO MILLION! My question would be: Why have we got an annual loss of two million when our gates are in the top eight of all the clubs in this league and we have sold £600K worth of players in Taylor and Bodin?

Where is this league table of budgets?
Would the players signed this season have joined for a bottom six wage, assuming it's that much lower than those mid table?

Henbury - you have been smug for a number of weeks, as if you actually know something.😂 Clearly you DON'T, but the positivity is welcome. Out of interest, can you name me one scoop that you have ever disclosed. Keith Chimp..? more like Henbury Hamster. Does Wael pop into your computer shop for his USB stocks The game you play is noted. He should be writing for the Daily Sport, his prophecies of stadium builds would be right at home alongside "German bomber found on moon".

Nice bloke and nice interview, but ultimately nothing has been announced or changed.
It's been two years of progress on the pitch, but hardly anything off it with regards to stadium building.
It's a marginally better interview than last time, but nothing to see here and we move on..

They unearthed this story, none of the other papers had it.

Why, thank you one-effin. Just tap-ins for me. He's trying to butter you up, he is moving down to your neck of the woods and will be after a lift. He sounds really plausible at first, promising that he will drive 'next time' but the next time never comes. Don't fall for it!

Taylor and Bodin's fees, if paid upfront will be across two financial years not one? However that still doesn't explain the losses perhaps paying the ALQ's interest at least on paper doesn't help and I assume our Chairman and Commercial Manager don't come cheap plus we've the added cost of the Development Squad that lot could add up to £1m alone?

Apart from some minor improvements over the summer, all the interview says is that everything takes time. No mention of what the budget is for the training ground or whether it will be done in one go or stages - unless I had fallen asleep by the time he got into any detail.

Well all I wanted him to say was one sentence and he said it, DC is here to stay, already batted of Leeds. So when he gets it right, and I honestly think he will he will not go cheaply. Cue Fleetwood putting an offer for him soon.
