Simon this first surfaced a few months ago and when several of us posted our concerns we were shouted down and abused by those wearing rose tinted glasses. Seems all is not right at the top of the club I Don't recall anyone saying The Police hadn't been paid, or the hostess' but not saying it wasn't
How many people on the terraces don't use the internet message boards and would be blissfully unaware about any of it (oh to be in that place right now)
Dwane don't want to pay for anything seems to be the theme/allegations laid at them, but I cant get my head around recently appointing an expensive and well thought of commercial manager if you don't intend to do anything
If he's on £50K p.a. that's less than £5K p.m. not the £40K the fence contractors are owed, the club can probably pay salaries etc from match day etc income, it's the big bills which could be a problem.

'steve Brookfield is trying his best to pay' who is Steve Brookfield please? Finance Director primarily, but also takes on other duties in the day to day running of the club. I think it's morally wrong to instruct work and not pay for it. If the club were unhappy with the quality of work done, that's their prerogative, but to just not cough up is wrong on all counts.

So have J&G gone "legal" or not? I'm not sure what 'gone legal' means. I think its a very vague term which talks about ramping up pressure to pay, and all of which tend to spoil a relationship steps are something like... 1) get a solicitor to write a letter stating that further steps will be taken if payment is not received by X date - which costs money 1a) getting a letter back, which might provoke a further letter, and add to cost and delay 2) issuing proceedings - which also costs money, though not necessarily lots 3) collate evidence 4) getting a court date - which costs money, though not necessarily lots, if a party is to have legal representation 5) recovering the debt if the court case succeeds maybe i means getting to Step 1? This has rumbled on so long I assume we're at step 2 and they will have now paid the 5% court fees, assuming DS haven't got a defence to the claim them it will cost them the court fees and solicitors costs (x2) plus interest on the debt.

It seems the penny is finally dropping. I made my feelings clear on here 12 months ago and was lynched, but then i put up with the same for being one of the first to call for Buckle, McGhee & Ward to go. Some of the comments on GasChat are an utter embarrassment, we deserve the club we've got when the majority are happy to accept total s***e.

Thats not what im getting at. If they dont want to spend anything, they could have left Holtby doing everything and not employed someone else

That was painful to watch. He wasn't actually asked about anyone not being paid, but talked about it anyway, what's that all about? Ref UWE. Based on what he said there, they spent 18 months trying to get the deal over the line, were very close to agreeing terms, but all along he wasn't happy that it was a 120 year lease that would have left us as 'a nomad club'. I don't want to be unkind, but that makes no sense. Still, at least he did admit that the family see the money they have put in as an investment, so that supports what Swiss has been saying about them paying themselves interest on the money.

At that stage and even now I am more worried about inland revenue not being paid I have no proof they haven't but if they haven't and they get wind of legal action they will jump in pretty quick. As for all the back stage appointment s I would have thought get the team sorted first before anything else because a successful team generates more money than any appointments behind the scenes. Could it be all smoke and mirrors That escalated quickly, now we’re not paying our tax so we’re going into administration. Anyone else want to guess at something to spread a few more rumours?

Did they insist payment was being made with old smooth one pound coins and the contractors took o ffence.
Is the fencing contract like the Sainsburys one....water tight ?
Or are we paying them from the paradise papers in Guernsey ?
Just asking what is gaschat ? is is the same individuals who frequent the facebook Appreciation group...if so I don't want to know anymore

Coming from a builder an agreed upon quote is a quote regardless of cost also reading between the lines it’s more than just a fence that they have quoted for. Indeed it is. So having explained that bit can you please explain why it has not been paid? Not clear, to me anyway, from your OP as to why that may be. You’ll have to ask the club as to why it wasn’t/ isn’t being paid but somehow don’t think you get a response , perhaps ask Hamer at the next Agm lol

For those of you who keep dismissing all the stories of woe emanating from within our that give grave cause for concern, below is a statement from the person(s) involved in fencegate. Let’s try and not let a story get in the way of actual true facts please find below this statement, cue Lord Justice Gashead and his merry band of rose tinters to try and dissect UTG : I will try and explain what has gone on in a sensible way without apportioning blame on any individual or company In February The landscape company was instructed by brick to cut back hedgerows and excessive growth around the perimeter of training ground.about half way through the clearance the club realised there was no way of securing the site from vehicle and caravan access without a fence being erected IT WENT to tender and I understand J & G were successful Work was completed No payment was received until July which was 3k out of £40 k plus since then there have been several more payments of 3k after a long gap and several emails J& G went legal they received another 2k this week They also excavated the ditch that runs the entire length of the site I have finally spoken up as I am fed up of companies who worked this site and did a good job being blamed If you enter the site you will also see 2 huge roller shutter doors on the original agricultural sheds and new internal wall to house grass cutting machinery So yes money is owed and steve Brookfield is trying his best to pay it is only my relationship with the club over 15 years of sponsoring all the stands and managers cars that stops me going legal I am fully behind Daryl but the politics within the club have upset me. I am sure I will get slaughtered for speaking up but I love this club and things aren’t right. I think people have only 'dismissed' it because there have been no 'facts' or evidence presented to actually debate. Has anyone actually blamed the companies that worked the site. People have only reasonably suggested perhaps there were disputes for payment to be withheld, it's hard to have a discussion or debate with one side that only says yeah but they haven't done x and provides little information
The question is still what is the cause/official reason of the non payment/staged payments from BRFC's side. I m not saying anyone would or should believe the official line, that is up to individuals but the other side of the story is needed still
To be honest the main reason for putting this post across was to provide evidence of non payment of bills which this clearly illustrates and it is only one incident of what seems to be a similar pattern of what’s happening within the club elsewhere .thanks for not dismissing it out of hand.

Can’t believe they haven’t said anything.

Well it seems the club aren’t very quick to pay their debts as if you read between the lines on the OP you will see that J&G have gone legal and others that have worked the site are also yet to be paid , which either means all the contractors have not done their job correctly or the club have instructed various companies to carry out the work without having any intention of paying them or at the very least hang it out for time to pay as they haven’t got the money . My money is on the latter as other debts have come to light such as Avon and Somerset constabulary had to threaten action for last seasons Old bill bill and I’ve also heard that the hosts(ess’s) have been given their p45’s even though they haven’t been paid for 3 months. People need to start pulling their heads out of the sand pretty sharpish . I am not going to argue whether any of that is true or not
BUT how can I pull my head out of the sand when I am just a bloke on the terrace that hasn't heard any of these new allegations. What exactly am I and many others ignoring if we don't know about it?
maybe not you but others are just totally rubbishing these allegations from others and myself as lies or just negative stories but what possible agenda would I have for doing this ?

I know of one other supplier to the club, and have heard of others that haven't been paid for months. We're not talking about global empires here, we're talking businesses in and around our community, some of which provide sponsorship to the club. I think it's a bad way to conduct business, but for all I know <in that trade> it's perfectly acceptable.
