We've finalised a budget. Do you expect the club to advertise it?

Are you talking about the Lib Dem's manifesto.

Just wondering if anybody knows what the budget could be after yesterday's meeting between Clarke and the board in London to discuss this.

Just wondering if anybody knows what the budget could be after yesterday's meeting between Clarke and the board in London to discuss this. Why would anyone know what it could be outside of those that need to know
but I will start with 1 billion pounds

Correct answer. And just to expand that - when have we ever known? Why would/should we know now? What's so special about it this year from any other year? Really confused by all this, but I am just a simple country boy at heart so easily done. PS...I'll up you to 1.5billion.

Because if some aren't told what it is, they'll assume it's zero, but even if they were told what it is, they'd think that was a conspiracy and it was really zero anyway, so as you were. It's a pity anybody ever mentioned the date and 'London' - now, because the club hasn't issued a press release telling the football world how much DC's sitting on, folk think they're being suspiciously short changed on vital info that they demand the right to misinterpret.

It could be £500k transfer budget, with £35k per week additional wage budget. Or it could be £0 and £0, could also be £5,000,000, with a unlimited wage budget.
I love this game!

I find the notion that we should know - and stand by to criticise (whatever the number, it could be higher) - how much of their money someone else is ploughing in a bit distasteful and unsupportable. That applied to the old lot as well as the new lot. I still think the key is what it's spent on and the extent to which the club becomes self-supporting.
As it is, whatever next year's budget, I sense we're not in the territory of flogging anyone or anything that might raise a few bob. That's good and puts us in the realms of building-on from and Improving what we've got . I don't really want to be mega-flushed and out-bidding others to buy anyone who we might fancy to stash away in the squad.
Within those broad parameters, what the actual figure is is only significant to a very small number of people. Good luck to them.
