www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news/article/chairmans-message-3152881.aspxAre we allowed to discuss this? No current affairs section any more. but as the chairman's raised the topic ... Terrible decision by 'the great British public' imo. Too many old people allowed to vote, like the bloke on the radio this morning who voted 'out' but was "disappointed with the result". And my mum, who also voted out, whilst freely admitting that it won't affect her anyway.

I pay my taxes so should have an input, remember the USA war of Independence was started over "no vote, no taxes"

age restrictions only apply when your dead!!! this is the first outright democratic result this country has given since the vote to join the "common market" THAT is what we joined up to not a load of beaurocrats making whimsical decisions over people's liveley hoods and futures, those people have to look at themselves and wonder why GB voted out!..[the current government gained leadership of this country with 33% of the vote.. democratic result?

As much as it's awful to discriminate against race, sexuality, religion, disability etc, I find it amazing there is outward discrimination against age! You can't really get more democratic than a two choice option. The country has spoken. Don't understand why our chairman felt the need to, though?

Or do you prefer democracy only when the result is what you want?

The '75 vote was one big lie used to con the British public. We were lied to then, and many of us haven't forgot it. And we should not forget that for the previous 10 years or so when we had tried to join the Common Market it was them -,particularly the French - who said "Non" and vetoed our joining. So it's no wonder we feel we never belonged.

I live in france and have no idea how this will affect my status here. This however did not stop me voting out. I'm certainly no racist afterall I married an immigrant from the Emerald Isle. I feel realy optimistic now for the UK. We can make 100% of our laws (Currently 67% of UK law is influenced by the EU), we can impliment control over our borders and look to set up trade deals not only to the EU but to China, India, USA etc. Norway is not a member of the EU but is the worlds 6th richest country. OK I'll get of my soap box now.

Norway, where you pay ten Euros per pint because their import tax is so high due in no small part to not being in the EU.

The worst thing is leave didnt think they would win (the muppet voter on BBC FFS) and remain didnt think they would leave
No one has any preperation/contingency in place. We will get a PM no one elected who will be derided as Tory scum next week (Boris) by many.
Scotland and NI want to look to break free
But yeah cracking result
I am not against leaving necessarily but all we had was a big slanging match with no facts and BS lies already admitted by that no mark Farage who will no doubt slag of Boris when he doesnt obtain the deals he thinks Britain should get
But yeah great result

Scotland is a bit of a weird one. Two years ago the message was "If you vote to leave UK you will have to leave EU". Now they have voted to Reman in EU and are likely to vote to leave UK because of it. Bit tipsy turvy that one.

Where are the maths to support this it's the old that voted out? nothing on the Ballot paper re age. people quoting percentages without attaching figures. it like most of the figures quoted in the build up meaningless.
Angas I expect better of you.

Re Norway, drinks are expensive as a deterrent to alcoholism from the dark nights. But hey let's bring that into a EU discussion.

Angas I expect better of you. Not sure how wise it would be to trust any opinion poll to be perfect right now, but these figures won't be a million miles out you would imagine; HOW AGES VOTED (YouGov poll) 18-24: 75% Remain 25-49: 56% Remain 50-64: 44% Remain 65+: 39% Remain#EUref

I'm with Angas in being very disappointed with the outcome. However, 'Leave' won fair and square ( although I did have a wry smile to myself when Farrage admitted the £350m a week could be spent on the NHS was a 'mistake') and we have to accept the result, and hope that it all works out okay in the end.
