Leeds website states that rovers have refused permission to speak to Darrell - Leeds owner now in Italy seeking a new candidate. Phew.
hopefully Darrell isn't demotivated by this, and that he understands and accepts Rovers' criteria.

This wouldn't be the first time a manager has left the club to run a circus, Albert Prince Cox did the same thing.

Leeds United owner Massimo Cellino has told David Anderson, a football reporter for the Daily Mirror, that he is meeting a potential new manager in Italy.Yesterday, an approach was made to Bristol Rovers to discuss the vacancy with Darrell Clarke. Steve Evans, who is still employed by Leeds as their head coach, is expected to return to work today............ I loathe Steve Evans, but I hope that one of Rovers conditions was that Leeds actually did the decent thing and sacked him before speaking with Darrell. Cellino seems an impatient sort, so I'm hoping that our initial refusal has sent him in another direction.

Problem is Irish, you have to leave your self respect at the front door to take that job. Has anyone asked Darrell if he actually wants to work for those people? Well, presumably, particularly as they were presenting him with a new contract on Monday, they discussed it with him before responding to Leeds's approach. If he wasn't at least interested in seeing what they had to say, Leeds would have got that message and not asked, and, if they did, our response would have been a simple 'no', not 'only if'.

Except it wasn't a flat refuasal, so I'd guess it was discussed with Darrell.

Darryl now drifting in the betting and 'only' 1-2 with Sky (1-8 yesterday). The Leeds job will go to some desperate out of work chancer who knows full well he has no future there unless he can get Leeds into the top 6 ASAP. There are tons of out of work managers who would jump at it. I really don't think a sane manager, from a stable football Club, with wealthy new owners, with back to back promotions, a loyal and growing fan base in a fantastic part of the world would look at the Leeds job as an 'opportunity'. DC stays. He gets a big pay rise and this is thoroughly deserved. UTG.

I know it's only Twitter, but there's a few rumours floating on there that Leeds have returned and met Rovers demands.

If its twitter it must be right. Well it might be. Rather depends on who's said it.

tweet stated "strange day, not much being said. Clubs have discussed structure of compensation. Sounds like Leeds expect an agreement with Rovers".

Who was the last manager we had who left because someone else actually wanted them rather than being sacked or moved aside? I can't think of anyone since Gerry Francis the first time round.

Even so it will be up to DC to decide one he has a meeting and seen what else he is promised by the nutter in charge. I think from DCs view it is at least sensible and worthwhile to hear what they have to say if they have.met the apparent conditions. He can still turn them down
