But which club brought more supporters to The Mem than we took to their ground this season ? Luton Town. We had 553 at Luton. They had 707 at the Mem. Yep !

Apologies if these figures for League 2 average away attendances are posted elsewhere but I thought they looked interesting. They are stolen from onefootballforum. The poster does not guarantee 100% accuracy but claims they are there or thereaobuts. onefootballforum.co.uk/index.php?threads/league-2-away-support-thread-2015-2016.8/page-621326 Portsmouth 1161 Bristol Rovers 1039 Plymouth Argyle 1038 Oxford United 982 Luton Town 873 Northampton Town 733 Leyton Orient 612 AFC Wimbledon 549 Cambridge United 490 Wycombe Wanderers 463 Carlisle United 433 Notts County 430 Exeter City 375 Mansfield Town 362 Yeovil 325 York City 324 Hartlepool United 322 Barnet 238 Newport County 227 Stevenage 180 Crawley Town 149 Dagenham & Redbridge 144 Accrington Stanley 119 Morecambe

And let us confirm and put that away attendance myth finally to bed.

Bristol Rovers 1,161 Bristol City 1,263 And let us confirm and put that away attendance myth finally to bed. Why? We had 5 maximum attendances at which we would have sold a lot more tickets. Not to mention you USED TO BE two divisions ahead. Just think, we all heard the message (in a few years time no one will be talking about the gas), yet what is happening? We are gaining more fans by the season, and even have a 200 + page thread on your own site. All the papers and other media are talking about us. Its simples kaiserbcfc. You'll never get rid of the gas.

I wonder what our average would be if we could've took more to places like Newport, exeter and plymouth Not to mention Northampton and York.

Not the same though, watching on Telly. Besides that lot would win hands down on that. And what's worse, they would probably be watching it on YOUR telly. Thieving gits

I think that whatever cracks are made about 'the blue few' no reasonable person could knock Rovers travelling support. Nearly 3000 at Portsmouth,ok its not that far but it does make me wonder how many would have gone to Newport if more tickets had been available. Newport were daft not to have given Rovers all of one stand,it may have involved some work for them but another 2000 Rovers fans at £20 each = £40,000..if in future I hear that Newport are in money trouble I will think back to that day.

Ha, they keep harping on about the great teams they are playing each week and lovely stadiums, yet only muster a handful more than us when we were 2 leagues below. We wont have a league derby for a long time they are still saying. Don't they realise how close they were to having one for the coming season? Blinded by sheer arrogance most of that lot. They even put Hull Fans down for invading the pitch to confront Derby players last night, they would never do that. Oh wait...idiom or idiots?

It's what you do with it that counts (or so I'm constantly being told!) So....we used ours to go up, whereas you struggled to keep yours up at all. Clubs, I mean..

I went to a lot of them - Peterborough - rickety old wooden stand with a tin roof where you're shunted off to the left hand side of the pitch. Alright Football Ground Guide...
All the other grounds listed we've been too in the last five years, thanks for your post on our charge into a brave new world though.

Bristol Rovers 1,161 Bristol City 1,263 And let us confirm and put that away attendance myth finally to bed. So 100 difference? Not much to boast about. City are in the Championship going to Sheffield Wed, Birmingham, Reading, Charlton, Wolves. We get to go to Accrington, York and Morecambe. But for several sell outs it would have been more. Not sure what point you were trying to make but you have just illustrated that The Gas have a better away following. I wonder what sort of away attendances we would be getting in the 2nd tear going to those places. More than that.

He seems to want to impress us with statistics about a Franchise club reformed in 1982 that he says is nothing to do with him. He also seems to forget this is a forum primarily for Bristol Rovers fans, quite why he wants to compare our club with his I've no idea but the best comparison I can come up with is that his club have spent close on £60 million that has to be written off by their legal tax dodging owner (although not for much longer) and we've had to have £6 million written off and guess what.....they're still only one league above us, you couldn't make it up really could you
