Interesting stat: Rovers away v Notts County: Attendance 5,052 Away fans: 1,108 City away v Nottingham Forest: Attendance 20,551 Away fans: 1,032 Whilst this statistic is enjoyable, it is not a complete story. South Bristol went to an away game when they were near the bottom of the table and expected to lose. Rovers, on the other hand, are in a playoff position and always had a fair to good chance of winning, - I think if the other mob were higher in the table at the time and had been expected to have a good result, they would have taken more inbreds supporters than they did. Still a brilliant away attendance for a 4th Division club!

But you also have to take into account that they are watching Championship football and it was in the honeymoon period of a new managers arrival. Both reasons why more fans should go. Also surely if you are struggling near the bottom of the table, that is when the fans are needed the most to help the team. Did they turn their backs on their new manager and team because they expected a defeat? Poor supporters if thats the case.

I had to do a little bit of searching, but the worldfootball.net site seems to have some good stats. (They agree with me about the Rovers attendances, anyway!). League Two Attendances
The table below, containing stats from worldfootball.net, shows that the general trend for League Two attendances is upwards. Season | Average League 2 Attendance | 2015-16 | 4,786 | 2014-15 | 4,679 | 2013-14 | 4,351 | 2012-13 | 4,389 | 2011-12 | 4,407 | 2010-11 | 4,182 | 2009-10 | 3,846 |

That'll be because when we went down Luton went up - pretty much like for like replacement attendance wise and I think their crowds were particularly boosted by their first season back in the league.

For some idea of scale, our current average attendance would be the 7th highest attendance in League 1; higher than 2 teams, including Monaco, in Ligue 1; 6th highest in Ligue 2 ; 6th highest in Serie B; higher than 2 teams in the well attended Bundesliga 2; 3rd highest in the Dutch 2nd division; 6th biggest in the Portuguese 1st division; 5th highest in the Scottish Premiership; and finally higher than 2 teams in the Spanish 1st division, 10th highest in the 2nd!

Great that we broke through the 8000 mark for hole matches. Let's hope we can to 8500 next season as we go for promotion to the Championship. :-)

You've always had a bizarre home to away ratio.
Your away attendance is good, there's no question.
But you can get 5k follow you away then struggle to get more than 8,500 at home and you never sold out the ground once.
Our away is ok but we averaged over 15,200 this season which is excellent considering we were bottom six for all of the season.

The home end was sold out anyway but we cannot help if the away fans dont bother. The game Saturday was sold out a month early.
