The Post has a trite article which attempts to show the Higgs reign as being as good as it was catastrophic. Any views?
A good friend of mine blogged his idea of the highs of the tenure. It was a blank page ☺

I must admit i thought the relegation and appointment of Darren Clarke in Nick Higgs reign the worse in Rovers history.But since then
the promotion from the conference has made Rovers into a saleable business so much so we have new owners. I have to say maybe to be
proved wrong later that we should regard Rovers tenure with Nick Higgs and Darren Clarke as more successful than some might have
given them credit for.

Did everything he could to try and create a new ground, hired experienced managers, and took it on the chin when events transpired against the club.
IMO a good chairman.

Many people accused him of driving the club towards bankruptcy with his chasing of the court for, what he believed was a just cause.
However, nobody came up with FACTS to support this and for those accusers, how do you know that the selling of the club wasn't already in his back pocket, so he may not have been risking anything at all.....maybe.

My final post on this topic & then I consign it to the past a man who closed the official forum disengaged from fans lied on radio Bristol and on two main thimgs never did the promised and regular Q&A sessions banned fans called forum opinion just internet warriors and would not engage in anyway unable to delegate unaccepting of constructive criticism never able to accept ANY fault and was the leader of the it's someone else's fault ethos 2 relegation took us out of the FL Took debt from 1 million to close to 10. Repeatedly told us that without him there would be no Rovers. Like we really needed to hear that. Pernickety and mule headed man who could not delegate and did not stop digging when the hole he started got bigger. This is is just off the top of my head. as I said. I am dome with this now. I want and need to look forward. Just the facts mam- dragnet |
