Thank you Brian, that really is appreciated. I've just had a conversation with one of the club employees and they confirmed exactly what you have said about the new owners. A different class and way above anything they have known before. I can't wait for it to filter through to every tier of the club. It's what we have all wanted since we became supporters and like you I hope the gates improve as the club progresses. A supporter who hasn't been for nearly 4 years is coming with me tomorrow so it's a start. If that's Woodsy you better tell holtby to get some more blackthorn in No not Kev. Last time I saw him it was in the Giffy chippy.

What do you know Henbury? Are you suggesting we may be in talks with south glos regarding an alternative site? Nothing definite from my good friend but a lot of talk in the office about alternative sites available if the UWE pull out. Apparently lots of land on the Ring road the Council own Which ring road ? See if you can get them to steer them towards the land off the M49, it will cut my journey time from Cwmbran in half

I don't know - UWE is probably slightly better for transport, but Emerson's green is way better in term of the land available. There's loads of land available opposite Sainsburys. Its right next to the park and ride that's being built, so will be linked to the new metrobus system, from both Parkway and from town. Not far from the M32/ring road junction, and very close to the proposed new M4 / ring road junction. Also right by the Bristol bath cycle path.
So you've got loads of land already earmarked for mixed use development, good road links, parking, public transport and cycle access. Also a large community with very few public services on its doorstep, keen to use a new leisure centre and whatever else you build with the stadium. And right next to my work!
I'm off to make an offer for the Willy Wicket...
You can stick your wildly wicket it will be the trident for the old tote end boys Trident can see it from my house

Someone should buy the Royal archer as it closed again just after Xmas. It would be s great pub for us Kingdwood pirates. Have it run like the dedicated sports bars in USA. Get fans to turn up on match days and then have SC coaches pick up and drop off. I saw this in Chigago and loved it. We met at the sports bar and it had videos of the Chicago Bulls and coach etc and it would be rammed with fans. Such a good idea and no worries about driving and having to be strict on the drinking. I think we could learn a great deal from how the Americans treat fans and the quality of service. Beer and food brought to seats and everything geared for that. Wrong location though. Yeah, it's full of Gas but it does have a reputation of being a bit of a 'local pub for local people...' Given that Plod have closed down Bar Celona that would be a better place for a proper sports bar in Kingswood. Bar 501 in Staple Hill always seems busy so do something along those lines.

The land off the Sainsbury roundabout in Lyde Green (opposite the new park and ride) currently has an application on it for a Mcdonalds drive-thru, a pub and a hotel

The option of rail access to the stadium is paramount. It has to be the HP site with a revised scheme

However - those things would only take up a small part of the land there. I really want to be able to walk from my work to the Rovers!

Hello, bit of googling and I've found that David Lloyd had plans for a leisure centre south of the Rosary roundabout. That's lapsed and they are now looking to sell the site. 2015 Emersons Green town centre plan states:
"The option of expanding the retail area to the east of the Ring Road, to include land which has a lapsed approval for a commercial sports centre (David Lloyd), has been considered but discounted because of the degree of severance from the main centre. There is continuing need for leisure facilities at Emersons Green and there is a strong case for safeguarding the site for that purpose. "
There we go, done deal.

Yes, how about a Burger King for some variety? I would like to walk there as well and although i live not far away in Staple Hill, i work at Abbey Wood!

Whereabouts in Hambrook was the land on which we didn't build a stadium in the 70s or 80s or whenever (scheme 1 of about 8)? Is that still empty? On / near the ring road and walkable from Parkway. That would be kinda full circle completion.
This is all a bit silly, really.
