I like this forum. It has a very laid back feel to it. I imagine everyone on here is around 70 years old and smokes Woodbines. You been spying on me?

I would add as an aside there are loads of people who only read this forum because of comments made to me by people I know about some of my posts. When I ask them what name they post under on the forum they just say they don't, they just follow the various threads, they all know who I'm referring to

this forum has a hardcore of bitter negative posters who only post when were losing or they can hammer the board over the new ground stuff, like the one called bamber something and others, the other forum is more balanced and has lots more fans on it imo
the good news is we will have a bad run at some point and the appeal is coming up soon so then they can post again

The majority of those who express negative views are more often than not anti mismanagement, not anti board, there's a big difference. Now where's me slippers and baccy pouch

Sprout called it perfectly.
When you agree with what's going on on the pitch, what do you say? That's kind of sad and unbalanced, but do you post 'wow, we're great'? I've been about long enough to default to 'quietly pleased and cautiously confident', while remembering pear-shapedness and that we shouldn't be in this damn division. To post that would be negative, I have more confidence in DC than any of the 'really?' big bollox of the past, but let's take it steadily. We're (pitch-wise) miles ahead of where we were. How do you post that?
Off the pitch, I've tired of talking about it. So we go round again this month: face it, I'll probably post on the subject, but what year is it now? When did this start?
Our 'betters', who have so often made the wrong call, fell over DC ('he's under contract' was the last we heard and best they could do), but he's doing a good job. Fingers crossed they leave well alone on that score. He has already done better than anyone had the right to expect: stick with him. Cautiously confident. How often can you post that?
If the requirement of a forum is guess the gate competitions and trying to convince ourselves we're better than Real Madrid, I'm on the sidelines. If it's hunkering down with good folks, I'd like to stay involved.

I read and post (occasionally) on both. It's total swings and roundabouts because they both go up and down in their content and quality. At the moment there's a few really crap and irritating cliques going on in gaschat which is fairly offputting. There is also a lot of animosity between a few posters that spills into virtually everything that they post which is also irksome. That said I still read it and I still post because it's live and let live after all and there are also heaps of good posters and topics.
The number of posters is obviously greater on gaschat but I would probably turn to this forum for a more serious debate to be honest. Definitely a place for both I think. No offence intended to either site, that's just the way I see it.

I like this forum. I never read any other Rovers related forum because a) I don't have time and b) I don't have any spare mental capacity to compare the two or contribute twice. I would say that there seems to be a great many more readers than contributors . I wonder whether this is because over the course of a thread readers feel that writers cover their point of view or through a fear of attack/ridicule which it's a certainty at some point, if you have an opinion. When I go to matches I don't like to talk much, I like to watch the match and get really engrossed in it. The forum gives me a chance to do what many seem to do at the match. I would like to see more people post though.

I prefer gaschat, though there are a lot more morons on there. E.g Tbone Oi, leave it out. I am pretty much o.k.

Bridgeman and Seth sum it up perfectly for me. I am only on this forum, I have looked at Gaschat and it does not appeal so much, I think the guess the crowd type posts tend to put me off, probably because of my age. If I was younger it might be a different story.
Interceptor has a point about reading rather than posting, that is what happens with me, my points covered so no need in adding it again, very easy to just "like" the post.
Long may both forums continue but I will stick around on here.

I read Gaschat dont post. Its very good on match days, non-match days not so good, but I did contribute in the past, but unfortunately on Gaschat there is a tendency to attack the poster rather what is posted.
I find this forum much more chilled, relaxed and generally has more informed posts. Its been very positive on here for months. Anyway horses for courses.
