From my perspective, gasheads.org and gaschat are pretty much the same. They hardly provide contrasting views on the way in which the club is going. Frankly, I find it a total waste of time having both, as you end up reading the same stuff twice. No doubt there are a few egos around who see it as being important that both are preserved. Don't read both then

Higgs's fault, he should have loaned out the current moderators and got some new ones in on loan. I have heard it said that the current moderators can only perform in one position. We need more utility moderators who can play in any position and for longer. Sack the board I say My wife says I can't perform in any position... but the girlfriend says ****************************************************************** (censored as before the watershed)

Not dying but it's definitely quieter here than Gaschat, in my view that's a positive.
Gaschat appears to have taken over the role of the old official forum which I never really enjoyed (partly because I was banned so often and couldn't join in!)
I enjoy the more "mature" banter on here and as long as we have a quorum of members (whatever constitutes a quorum) I'm happy to hang around.

It is always packed to the rafters in here when we are doing crap though, that much is definitely true. It's gets busy at appropriate times really. When there is no news, let's face it, that is pretty often then we have little to discuss or anything that polarises opinion. I would rather have a quiet at times forum than the playground and puerile stuff on the other place. I will always remember my time with the official forum and the friendships formed but this place has some erudite and tactically great posters plus some astute business and legal minds. I don't feel a need, as I did before, to have to post and it has a much more relaxed atmosphere and certainly doesn't have the animosity that I experienced and maybe even caused . Nothing wrong here. Carry on as you were.

I really like the quieter pace this forum has also it is really good when news breaks as it is straight to the top not mixed up on page 20 / 60 or so on. We seem to have gone under the radar of the majority of spammers which is also good. I also think that compared to the good old days when the official forum was the place to find news many now use facebook, twitter etc.

Fair play. They soon realise they don't get a rise, get bored and leave.

This forum has been accused of being anti-board by a certain individual who continues to fan that flame, that person doesn't post on here. We've never been anti-board (well I haven't been and few others on here haven't been either) but what we've always wanted is the club to be run professionally, to be financially prudent, to be run successfully both on and off the pitch, to improve it's marketing opportunities and most of all to include us fans in that process, that's hardly anti-board is it ?! I don't or won't forget the dreadful way us fans were treated at the end of the season we were relegated to non-league by a total mismanagement of the club. That's now gone and it has been time to move on. We've been very fortunate to have been provided with a competent manager by fate rather than by choice who has in a remarkable way galvanised the fan base in a way few other managers ever have. We have success on the pitch and it has papered over the cracks of some of the criticism levelled at the board and that was always going to happen. I'm only signed onto this forum, I like it and the people who post on it, some of whom I've met too, long may it continue. Ps.....and the Mods do a damn fine job too

Having read and posted on both forums I sense Gaschat in recent times as become more middle of the road where this forum still as an anti Higgs feel to it, although by and large this one has more "adult" feel to the threads Gashchat does seem to have moved away from the childish banter which you to tuin most threads, plus it seems to be attracting, if that's the correct term, more of the newcomers to the forums.
In an ideal world both forums would join together as it would make it a damn sight easier than checking two forums daily for the latest news/gossip/rumours!

I like this forum. It has a very laid back feel to it. I imagine everyone on here is around 70 years old and smokes Woodbines.

You really don't need to 'check' both though. If actual things actually happen, I'm sure it hits both forums pretty much simultaneously.
